Abstract: A template document is received. A user defines an anchor area, and a field zone that contains a target object, in the template document. Objects, such as text objects, are identified in the anchor area along with their locations. Distances between locations of the objects in the anchor area are identified. A distance between the anchor area and the field zone is identified. A reference document is received. The objects in the reference document are identified. A number of common objects are identified. If there are common objects, locations of the common objects and the distances between the common objects are identified in the reference document. The identified distances between objects in the template document and the reference document are compared. If the distances are substantially the same, a corresponding target object is retrieved from the reference document based on the distance between the anchor area and the field zone.

  • Patent number: 9449215
Abstract: Information corresponding to a face image preferred by a user as a whole is presented while considering a face element preferred by the user. An information processing apparatus identifies a priority of each of a plurality of elements included in a face in a reference face image. The priority is according to specification by a user. The information processing apparatus extracts, from among a plurality of face images, face images whose similarities of an area including the plurality of elements to the reference face image is greater than or equal to a first threshold value. The information processing apparatus decides, on the basis of similarities of each element between the reference face image and the extracted face images and the identified priority of each element, presentation order of presentation information presented as search results corresponding to the extracted face images.

  • Patent number: 9449228
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining the location where an image was captured. In general, a device such as a smartphone may capture one or more images from a location, such as images of buildings, street signs and the like, and a central system may compare the submitted images to images in an image library to identify matches. The location of the match may then be provided back to the smartphone.

  • Patent number: 9418142
Abstract: The disclosure includes a system and method for detecting communities in a weighted graph. The community detection module includes a tagset data aggregator, a counts statistics engine, a weighted graph generator, a coherence engine, a community detector and a tag recommendation engine. The tagset data aggregator receives tagset data. The counts statistics engine determines counts statistics for the tagset data. The weighted graph generator generates and denoises weighted tag occurrence graph based on the counts statistics. The coherence engine determines importance score for all tags and coherence score for all tagsets in the tagset data. The community detector determines maximally coherent communities in the weighted tag co-occurrence graph. The tag recommendation engine recommends tags in real time using the maximally coherent communities.

Abstract: It's an object of the invention to provide an object detection device capable of detecting an object for detection in an input image with high precision. In an object detection device 1, a detection window setting unit 11 receives a photographic image 21 photographed by a camera. The detection window setting unit 11 sets a detection window area in the photographic image 21 and generates a normal window image 22 by cutting out the detection window area from the photographic image 21. An image processing unit 12 performs image processing such as enlargement and reduction, etc. on the photographic image 21. Each modified window images 23 is cut out from each of the enlarged photographic image 21 and the reduced photographic image 21. A degree calculation unit 13 calculates matching rates indicating a possibility the object for detection in the window image for each window images on the basis of feature data 51 indicating a feature of the object for detection.

An image is obtained and presented in the overlay effects selection interface with a plurality of user-selectable overlay effects. User input is received identifying at least one overlay effect selected from the plurality of user-selectable overlay effects, and a modified version of the image is presented incorporating the selected at least one overlay effect. Information characterizing the image and the selected at least one overlay effect is utilized to control access to a protected resource. For example, the information characterizing the image and the selected at least one overlay effect may be obtained as part of a graphical password enrollment process and stored as at least a portion of the graphical password for controlling access to the protected resource.

Abstract: Integrated circuits with interpolating circuitry for deinterlacing video data are provided. Each frame of video data may include a field of pixels from every-other row of the frame. Edge detection circuitry may generate an edge map for the field. The edge map may be filtered to remove weak edges from the map. Cartesian Hough transformation circuitry may perform Cartesian Hough transforms on the filtered edge map to generate a Cartesian Hough space histogram. The Cartesian Hough space histogram may be filtered to remove bins having insufficient counts. Offset mask generation circuitry may generate an offset mask based on the Cartesian Hough space histogram. Interpolation circuitry may generate interpolated pixel values for missing rows of the field using pixels from the field and the offset mask. The interpolating circuitry may generate deinterlaced video data that is free from image artifacts along low-angle edges using the interpolated pixel values.

  • Patent number: 9336581
Abstract: An object is to correct gradations in such a manner that both halo reduction effect and Retinex calculation effect are satisfied. Each JND value corresponding to each obtained luminance value to be assigned to each unit gradation of a panel is obtained. A pixel value corresponding to the each JND value is obtained for each of the unit gradations of the panel. A threshold ? is obtained by inverse gamma-correcting the ratio between discernible JND values corresponding to the unit gradations of the panel and the maximum output value of the panel. Linear function-based approximations are obtained using least squares. The threshold ? is determined as an increasing function of a pixel value on the basis of the allowable number of JND steps. The threshold ? is changed using this function. The threshold ? can be changed according to the center pixel value.
