Abstract: Implementations provide an improved system for efficiently calculating inner products between a query item and a database of items. An example method includes generating a plurality of subspaces from search items in a database, the search items being represented as vectors of elements, a subspace being a block of elements from each search item that occur at the same vector position, generating a codebook for each subspace within soft constraints that are based on example queries, assigning each subspace of each search item an entry in the codebook for the subspace, the assignments for all subspaces of a search item representing a quantized search item, and storing the codebooks and the quantized search items. Generating a codebook for a particular subspace can include clustering the search item subspaces that correspond to the particular subspace, finding a cluster center for each cluster, and storing the cluster center as the codebook entry.

Abstract: Minimizing bandwidth consumption in rendering dynamic content, such as video streaming. Traditional streaming video applications utilize lossy protocols that often result in degraded user experiences. A dynamic content encoder/decoder allows a server based browser application to generate vector based rendering instructions for processing by a client based browser application. Additionally, as the dynamic content changes the content to be displayed, a server based browser application generates updated vector based instructions and encoded spatial and temporal differences to minimize the data transmitted to the client based browser.

Abstract: A server generates an image with searchable information from a website and transmits that image to a client device. Since the image may be large, the image is generated and transmitted in the background as the client device browses the website. When the client device requests information from the website, the client device first checks if that information has already been transmitted to it in the image as encoded format. If the client device has this information, which is locally stored, then the client device decodes that portion of the image and retrieves the requested information without ever having to contact the server. If the client device does not have this information stored locally, then the client device contacts the server and retrieves the information. Since the image can contain all of the searchable information of a website, the searching process will become faster as time passes.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to novel devices, methods, and computer readable media for performing color defringing on image data. In photography, particularly RAW images, different artifacts can affect the quality of the edges of objects in the image. This effect is generally more noticeable when the edge has high contrast. One motivation for the described techniques is the understanding that, typically, not all pixels of an image exhibit color fringing. Usually, fringing only occurs in high-contrast edges. Mere masking of the effects of the whole-image operations can improve the result, but further improvements are still possible. This disclosure also pertains to novel devices and computer readable media for performing red-blue color reconstruction on data from a variety of color filter arrays (CFAs).

The defining includes adding a pixel value in the linear array to the window so long as the pixel value does not deviate from the pixel values that exist within the window to a degree that causes a threshold value to be exceeded, and, wherein the threshold value decreases as the size of the window increases. The method also includes encoding the window of pixel values with a value determined from pixel values within the window and the number of pixel values within the window.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of automatically locating in an image of a blood vessel the lumen boundary at a position in the vessel and from that measuring the diameter of the vessel. From the diameter of the vessel and estimated blood flow rate, a number of clinically significant physiological parameters are then determined and various user displays of interest generated. One use of these images and parameters is to aid the clinician in the placement of a stent. The system, in one embodiment, uses these measurements to allow the clinician to simulate the placement of a stent and to determine the effect of the placement. In addition, from these patient parameters various patient treatments are then performed.

  • Patent number: 9047537
Abstract: A detection process, contact recognition process, classification process, and identification process are applied to raw sensor data to produce an identified contact record set containing one or more identified contact records. A prioritization process is applied to the identified contact record set to assign a contact priority to each contact record in the identified contact record set. Data are removed from the contact records in the identified contact record set based on the contact priorities assigned to those contact records. A first contact stream is produced from the resulting contact records. The first contact stream is streamed in a contact transport stream. The contact transport stream may include and stream additional contact streams. The contact transport stream may be varied dynamically over time based on parameters such as available bandwidth, contact priority, presence/absence of contacts, system state, and configuration parameters.
