  • Patent number: 11302053
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for determining image handle locations. An image is provided to a neural network as input, and the neural network translates the input image to an output image that includes clusters of pixels against a background that have intensities greater than an intensity of the background and that indicate candidate handle locations. Intensities of clusters of pixels in an output image are compared to a threshold intensity level to determine a set of the clusters of pixels satisfying an intensity constraint. The threshold intensity level can be user-selectable, so that a user can control a density of handles. A handle location for each cluster of the set of clusters is determined from a centroid of each cluster. Handle locations include a coordinate for the handle location and an attribute classifying a degree of freedom for a handle at the handle location.

Abstract: A method comprising receiving a candidate image, including a first field, a second field, a first data element, and a second data element. The processor receives a definition of first and second form zones. The processor evaluates the first data element to determine a first measure of a similarity and the second data element to determine a second measure of a similarity. The processor computes a similarity value indicative of an overall similarity, iteratively compares the overall similarity to a previous iteration, modifies the positions of the form zones, and repeats the evaluating and computing based on the modified positions until the computed similarity value meets a threshold.

Abstract: A digital document skew detection and correction system that uses horizontal pixel projection analysis to detect the prominent writing line of Arabic text. The system removes both small and large components and divides the document into segments. The system uses the pixel projection results at varying angles to pinpoint the highest horizontal pixel concentration corresponding to the writing line of the Arabic text to determine the skew angle for each divided document segment. The skew angle variable is averaged between the documents segments before being reattached; a user notification application is activated if the differences between skewed angles exceed a threshold. The original document is rotated in the opposite direction of the estimated skew angle to correct the skew.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying a false representation of a human face are provided. In one example, a method for identifying a false representation of a human face includes receiving a plurality of different data streams captured by a respective plurality of sensors of differing sensor types sensing a candidate face. In a cascading plurality of stages, one or more of the different data streams are analyzed, wherein each of the stages comprises a different analysis. In one of the cascading plurality of stages, the method determines that one or more of the different data streams corresponds to a false representation of the human face. Based on determining that one or more of the different data streams corresponds to a false representation of a human face, an indication of the false representation is outputted.

Abstract: Techniques are described for determining the pose of an object based on a 3D point set representing the object. The 3D point set is rotated into a 2D coordinate system and a model object contour is aligned with the contour of the rotated point set using an iterative process. The aligned model object contour is then rotated back into the original 3D coordinate system, where its pose is assumed to represent the pose of the object.

  • Patent number: 9064174
Abstract: Architecture that enables optical character recognition (OCR) of text in video frames at the rate at which the frames are received. Additionally, conflation is performed on multiple text recognition results in the frame sequence. The architecture comprises an OCR text recognition engine and a tracker system; the tracker system establishes a common coordinate system in which OCR results from different frames may be compared and/or combined. From a set of sequential video frames, a keyframe is chosen from which the reference coordinate system is established. An estimated transformation from keyframe coordinates to subsequent video frames is computed using the tracker system. When text recognition is completed for any subsequent frame, the result coordinates can be related to the keyframe using the inverse transformation from the processed frame to the reference keyframe. The results can be rendered for viewing as the results are obtained.
