Abstract: A flexible, reclosable package having a zipper closure and a slider device mounted thereon, the zipper closure and slider device encapsulated within a tamper evident-structure such as a hood. The hood has a top seal region where the walls of the hood are sealed together; the hood walls can be of the same material as the package walls. In one embodiment, each end of the zipper closure includes an area that terminates the slider device travel; this can be a crush area or region. In order to gain access to the interior of the package, the hood is removed by breaching the hood, such as at an area of weakness that is between the slider device and the region where the zipper closure attaches to the package walls.

Abstract: A slider device is disclosed for use with a resealable package. The slider device includes structure for preventing or minimizing the likelihood that the slider device can be removed from the resealable package. In one embodiment, the slider device includes a top wall and first and second sidewalls depending from the top wall. The first sidewall has a barb member extending inwardly toward the first closure profile of the resealable closure mechanism. The barb member is constructed and arranged to engage the first closure profile in response to a pulling force on the slider device away from the resealable closure mechanism. In another embodiment, the first sidewall also includes a hook construction defining a flange to slidably cover a shoulder of the first closure profile. The hook construction and flange define an offset that is constructed and arranged to engage the shoulder of the first closure profile in response to a pulling force on the slider device away from the resealable closure mechanism.

Abstract: A reclosable packaging having a slider/zipper assembly, a header and a tamper-evident feature which undergoes a tangible change when the slider is moved relative to the header for the first time. The tamper-evident feature comprises a layer of sticky or adhesive material placed between a surface of the header and an opposing surface of the slider, thus forming a seal. The material must have a peel strength or resistance to rupture sufficient to resist an initial movement of the slider along the zipper. If the slider is stuck or adhered to the header, this indicates that the package or bag has not been tampered with, i.e., previously opened. When sufficient force is applied, the seal can be broken, allowing the slider to move relative to the header along the zipper in the direction of opening. Once broken, the seal cannot be restored by simply returning the slider to its original position and pressing the slider against the sticky or adhesive material.

Abstract: A vertical form fill seal, stand-up, bag and a method of making the same is disclosed. The bag made of a flexible and resilient material such as plastic, has hollow interior, a horizontal bottom seal located below the hollow interior and a top horizontal seal located above the hollow interior. The bag can stand, preferably on or near the bottom seal, when filled with contents. A recloseable seal, such as a finger closure zipper or a slide zipper in other embodiments, is on a perimeter of the hollow interior, and between the top and bottom seals. The recloseable seal extends in a direction other than horizontal, and may extends the entire distance, or only a part of the distance, between the top horizontal seal and the bottom horizontal seal. The recloseable seal is fixed to sealed horizontal sides, or other than the sealed horizontal sides, and may be flush with the bag or extending beyond the edges of the bag. The bag has a handle above the top horizontal seal.

Abstract: A zipper closure having a first and second releasably interlocking closure profiles where a first sealing flange extends from the first closure profile, and a second sealing flange extends from the second closure profile. Two rectangular-shaped protrusions are on each of an exterior and interior side of the first sealing flange. A rectangular-shaped protrusion is on each of an exterior and interior side of the second sealing flange. The rectangular-shaped protrusions on each interior side of first and second sealing flange are constructed and arranged to mate with each other. A flexible, reclosable package and methods of manufacturing are also disclosed.

Abstract: A zipper profile for a fastener assembly is provided. The profile includes a male element and a female element. The female element has a pair of jaws that are movable with respect to one another about a common fulcrum region, and a pair of arms each of which are coupled to a corresponding one of the pair of jaws at the fulcrum region. Each of the arms has an end opposite from the fulcrum region that is shaped for engagement with a slider, and the jaws have an open position and a closed position. The arms are disposed to cause movement of the jaws between the closed position and the open position when the arms experience displacement about the fulcrum region. Displacement about the fulcrum region may be effectuated by motion of a slider relative to the arms. The male element is captured by the female element when the jaws are in the closed position and released when the jaws are in the open position.

Abstract: A compression storage bag is constructed such that the operation to store and accommodate goods to be stored such as beddings and clothes after compression-storage is made easy, and which has a broad range of applicable storing and accommodating places. The compression storage bag is preferably made of a non-permeable synthetic resin material, and is provided with a non-return valve preferably made of a synthetic resin material on one portion thereof. A base member having a planar form is put inside the compression storage bag, and the shape of the base portion of the compression storage bag is retained. When goods to be stored such as beddings and clothes are stored inside the compression storage bag, the whole compression storage bag retains its shape, for example, a substantially rectangular shape.

Each strip includes at least one web extending substantially mostly sideways on one side of the profiles. The above arrangements make possible special fasteners that include sliders, gasket membranes, fasteners inverted within the bag, peel-seals and hinged fasteners.

Abstract: A flexible package is provided with a shrouded slide fastener closure. The shroud includes an opening for the slide, extending to a line of weakness joining the shroud to the remainder of the flexible package. The opening includes an acute angle portion communicating with the line of weakness to facilitate tearing of the shroud from the flexible package.

Abstract: An anti-fomitic device in the form of a bag or envelope which forms a cover for an object for preventing cross-infection by bacteria and other pathogens that may reside on the object being covered. The anti-fomitic device is a flat, flexible bag or envelope with a closure means at one end of the bag or envelope, having a sterile interior which is sealed during manufacture to maintain sterility. Therefore, no outer wrapping for the anti-fomitic device is required. Alternatively, the anti-fomitic device is a flat, flexible, internally sterile bag with two releasably closed ends, where one end is tucked inward so that the sterile interiors of the two releasably closed ends touch.

Abstract: A closure arrangement for use with a flexible package includes a first closure mechanism, a slider device, and a second closure mechanism. The first closure mechanism includes selectively engageable first and second profiles. The slider device has a housing operably mounted on the first closure mechanism. The slider housing is constructed and arranged to engage and disengage the first and second profiles. The slider housing defines a first cavity that slidably receives said first and second profiles. The second closure mechanism includes selectively engageable third and fourth profiles. The second closure mechanism is adjacent to the first closure mechanism but is completely outside of the first cavity. The second closure mechanism may be either a single pair of interlocking hooks, or may be multiple members. The slider device includes a plow with a non-rectangular cross-section, such as a polygon, a racetrack, or a circle.

Abstract: The reclosable bag has a gusset side structure so that the bag can be self-supporting on its bottom surface. The reclosable structure can be an internal structure or an external structure. As an external structure the front and rear walls extend above the reclosable seal and are bonded together above the reclosable seal. This extended wall structure is removed to remove these tamper evident seal. If within the bag the tamper evident seal is composed of a loop of film extending downward from each side of the reclosable seal to seal the contents of the bag. This loop must be broken to open the bag. The preferred reclosable seal is a zipper with bonded stays or each end to maintain the zipper on the bag. The bag has diagonal seals at the lower corners for forming a flat bottom to the bag and at the upper corners to provide vents for pressure equalization. The bags are made by a process where all processing is on line except for forming the zipper which is constructed off-line.

The pair of opposing wall panels are joined along a pair of opposing sides and a bottom bridges the opposing sides to create a receptacle space having a mouth end opposite the bottom. The barrier partition comprises at least a first layer that is substantially impermeable to at least one of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. In another embodiment, the slider device includes a first and second rib member constructed and arranged to reinforce the top wall and each of the sidewalls at separate locations.

Upon closing the bag, the edges substantially align and become generally colinear. Alternatively, the closure indicator may comprise a mechanical seal which becomes colinear upon closing. In an alternative embodiment, flaps may be juxtaposed with the closure system. The flaps encounter a change of position upon closure of the bag. The change in position may either be complete severance from the bag, or inflect from a first position to a second position upon closure or opening of the bag. Closure and/or opening of the bag may be accomplished by a slider.

The travel path has vector components extending in each of mutually orthogonal X, Y and Z directions. Abstract: The present invention provides a bag comprising two generally parallel sheets (16, 18) forming the main walls of the bag, complementary closure strips (20, 22) fixed to respective ones of the sheets, and a cursor (50) for actuating the strips (20, 22) for closing and opening purposes, the bag being characterized in that it further comprises, parallel to the closure strips (20, 22), between said sheets (16, 18), and level with the mouth (12) of the bag, additional means in relief (100) disposed on the insides of the closure strips (20, 22), designed to provide sealing by forming a barrier between the sheets (16, 18) in the closed position of the bag, said additional means in relief (100) being placed facing the flanks (52, 54) of the cursor (50) to be urged towards their sealing position by the cursor (50) when the cursor is moved towards the sealing position.
