Abstract: A fluid carton assembly for dispensing and storing a liquid beverage includes a beverage carton for storing a liquid beverage. The beverage carton has a pair of flaps each being positionable in an open position to pour the liquid beverage. The flaps are positionable in a closed position to contain the liquid beverage. A slide is slidably coupled to each of the flaps. The slide is slidable into a closing position thereby retaining the flaps in the closed position. The slide is slidable into an opening position thereby facilitating the flaps to be positioned in the open position.

Abstract: A closure for a pouch comprising: (a) a cylindrical sleeve having a first open end and a second open end, (b) a longitudinal slit in the cylindrical sleeve having a close end proximate to the first end of the cylindrical sleeve and an open end at the second end of the cylindrical sleeve; (c) a rod adapted to be arranged concentrically within the cylindrical sleeve having a first end and a second end, the first end of the rod being adapted to engage with the first end of the cylindrical sleeve; and (d) a child-proof lock adapted to be removably connected to the second end of the cylindrical sleeve or to the second end of the rod to block the open end of the longitudinal slit.

Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a storage apparatus having multiple compartments. In one aspect, a multi-compartment bag can be formed of a flexible material, and each compartment of the multi-compartment bag can have two or more seams and one resealable opening edge. The seams in each compartment can include at least one tearable seam that can include at least a perforated seam configured to physically separate one of the compartments from the multi-compartment bag. In another aspect, a multi-compartment container can be formed of a rigid material having one or more removable lids, an upper portion, and a lower portion. The upper portion and the lower portion can each have a plurality of compartments. The upper portion can be separated from the lower portion by an intermediate layer.

A positioning hole is defined in the holding member and two flanges extend from the holding member and cooperatively defining a gap for receiving a packing bag. The securing member is received in the holding member and includes a positioning post. The securing member deforms the two flanges between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the two flanges extend outside in opposite direction so that an acute angle defined between the two flanges, and the positioning post is disengaged from the positioning hole. In the second position, the two flanges are substantially parallel to each other, the positioning post is engaged in the positioning hole, and the securing member is engaged with the packing bag.

Abstract: A flexible, reclosable bag includes a first bag web, a second bag web, and a pocket-forming web, which form a flexible, reclosable bag having a pocket for inserting a thermal influencing material. The pocket-forming web may contain a cut, thereby forming an opening in the pocket. The pocket and/or the flexible, reclosable bag may include a fastener, such as a zipper tape fastener or a zipper slider fastener. Additionally, a method for making a flexible, reclosable bag having a pocket for receiving a thermal influencing material is disclosed.

Where the pack (8) is a zipper pack provided with a zipper, this zipper functions as the rod member.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a reclosable package or bag with a slider zipper, and further including a first gusset with a perforated line or similar line of weakness formed between the slider zipper profiles in order to provide tamper evidence and a second gusset formed below one zipper profile in order to allow the filled packaged to stand up for display purposes. This package or bag is typically bottom filled, but then displayed to the customer in the orientation with the bottom in the upper position and the zipper in the lower position. One alternative embodiment substitutes a press-to-close-zipper for the slider zipper. A further alternative embodiment omits the perforated line and provides for a separation in the web between the zipper profiles to form a mouth for the package or bag.

A pair of plastic zipper portions are disposed on opposite sides of the single pair of side wall edges. The zipper closure clip is adapted to clamp the two portions of the plastic zipper together when the zipper closure clip is slid along the opening of the bag. The two plastic zipper portions include suitable means to make the closing of the opening permanent. In one embodiment, the zipper closure is removable from the bag after the bag is permanently closed.

Abstract: A novel continuous web of composite packaging film for making packages having improved openable and reclosable interlocking seals, the seal having male and female portions of arrowhead shape in cross section, snap detents, and being formed transversely to the direction of film flow during package formation at line speed. The packaging film is provided at package length intervals with thermoformable strips secured thereto transversely to the running length of the film, and is fed to a modified standard vertical form, fill and seal packaging machine where the film is formed into a bag with the thermoformable strip inside in ends abutting folded facing relationship at the upper end of the bag, product deposited into the bag, the bag sealed, the reclosable interlocking seal formed, and the bag severed from the next bag being formed.

A stiffening bar is provided at the upper edge of each of the main segments and side segments, the stiffening bars being formed in a group when the bag segments are folded to close the bag mouth. There is a closure bar having a U-shape channel with an inwardly extending flange at each end and the group of stiffening bars fits within the inwardly extended flanges of the U-shaped channel as the closure bar is moved over the group of segments with the flanges being below the group of stiffening members. A locking member is fastened to the end of the closure bar to prevent its withdrawal from the bag and a receiver for the locking member can be on a piece that is articulated from the closure bar.

Abstract: A closure arrangement for a flexible package includes two base strips having channels and film-attachment portions, and a closure strip inserted within and slidably engaging the channels of the base strips. The closure arrangement includes shoulders on the channels configured to engage and retain the outer portions of the closure strip. The closure strip slides within the channels of the base strips to open and close the closure arrangement. A package and method of constructing a package are also described.

A second tape fastener is positioned adjacent a second peripheral edge on a second exterior surface of the second sidewall. The first tape fastener engages the second tape fastener when the flap portion of the first sidewall is in the folded position.

Abstract: A narrow, elongated, hard plastic, U-shaped sealing clip for an opened gabled container, providing repeated sealable air tight, leak-resistant closure of the container. Each leg of the U-shaped clip embodies an elongated longitudinally extending bead facing inward of the U, which beads are directly adjacent each other throughout their entire length. The beads are closely spaced and sized to enclose the gabled top of a container, at an upper portion thereof, with a resilient enclosing grip therebetween, to compressively close the portion of the container top which was opened for removal of material from the container. The spacing between the beads is less than the thickness of the container walls whereby, with the slide-on engagement with the gabled top of the container, the sealing clip assumes a compressive V-shaped conformation.

Abstract: A slide-on closure for containers such as beverage cartons is in the form of a tubular body with a longitudinal slit having a divergent section at one end to facilitate sliding of the closure onto the container. The tubular body further includes reinforcements surrounding the body which facilitate gripping the closure and a notch opposite the divergent section which enhances deformation of the closure when sliding same onto the container.

Abstract: A containment and disposal bag for human bodily fluids is disclosed which includes a bag having a hollow interior and a top at least partially open to receive the bodily fluids; preferably a funnel structure within the bag to channel said bodily fluids into the interior and to restrict expulsion of bodily fluids from the interior prior to sequestration; a hydrophilic material within the bag which is rapidly gellable upon contact with the bodily fluids in the bag, the gellation serving to essentially completely sequester the bodily fluids and prevent it from thereafter being expelled from the bag; and a closure to close the top of the bag after introduction of the bodily fluids into the bag. The hydrophilic material is commonly a polymer which is activated upon contact with the water-based bodily fluids and which gels rapidly (normally within thirty seconds or less) to sequester the bodily fluids.

An elongated track member having spaced apart side portions adapted for attachment to the adjacent upper edges of the container side walls, each side portion having a guide members extending along its outer surface and substantially the full width of the carton side walls. An elongated slider member attached to the track member parallel to the guide members has opposed jaw portions along its length with edge portions which are slidable on the guide members. Stop members are provided at opposite ends of the guide members for retaining the slider on the track member.

Abstract: A container is provided that will minimize the possibility of tampering by unauthorized persons. The container is formed of a one-piece, thermoplastic material, preferable a transparent material, that would make any unauthorized entry in the container more readily visible to the buying public. The novel container is fabricated by a novel combined compression and blow molding process with a single opening that can be sealed after the container is filled. A closure cap is formed in the process as a portion of the unitary container, which cap can be readily separated from the container by the user for gaining access to the contents of the container, and thereafter used to seal the opening in the container between openings.

Abstract: A molded plastic container has first and second portions which are relatively movable between open and closed configurations; and the two portions have first edges which are juxtaposed when the portions are closed. A T-shaped rail is fixed to the first edge of one of the container portions, and the rail extends along said edge for a significant length--except for a location where it is interrupted by two adjacent gaps. A pair of posts are fixed to the first edge of the second container portion, and the posts are positioned so as to be insertable into the two rail gaps when the two container portions are in their closed configuration. The posts have a transverse configuration which matches the transverse configuration of the rail, so that the posts may be described as forming geometric extensions of the rail when the two container portions are closed. A slide has an interiorly facing opening which is sized for engaging the rail and for being captured thereby.

Abstract: A closure device adapted for clamping a flexible bag has a pair of hinged jaws including slideably mounted extension pieces adjustably retained in pre-selected positions of extension. The jaws are movable between a closed position to grip a bag and an open position to release the bag. A clasp mechanism releasably retains the jaws in the closed position. Mating sets of longitudinal teeth may be provided to grip the bag more positively.
