To do this, a tube is formed with a strip of flexible material, a portion of tube is separated at the front of the tube forming a first flap at the rear of the portion of tube, the first flap prolonging the first wall of the portion beyond the end of the second wall adjacent to the first wall, a bag is formed with each portion of tube, and a stack of bags is formed, the first wall of the first of the bags being against the second wall of the adjacent second bag. An anti-adhesive coating is applied on to the first wall of the first bag and a coat of adhesive is applied on to the second wall of the second bag ensuring the temporary attachment with the anti-adhesive coating.

Abstract: A bag sealing device comprises an opposed press lock structure together with two adhesive bearing strips disposed below the press lock structure together with at least one strip that is employed to prevent premature sticking of the two adhesive bearing strips. This device is employed in combination with a bag containing a food product with disposed within the bag.

Abstract: A flexible packaging laminate has built-in opening/reclose and tamper-evidence features by forming the laminate from an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation to an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting a flap or the like out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate. The outer score line includes at least one tear portion that is torn through upon initial opening, thus indicating the package has been at least partially opened.

Abstract: A cover (100) having one or more openings (106,107) and one or more complementary closure devices (112,113) fits about a fluid drain bag, such as a urinary catheter drain bag (301). The cover (100) can be configured to be both partially transparent and partially opaque. Accordingly, a health services provider (401) can instantly perform rudimentary analysis of the fluid level (401) with a quick glance, yet can perform more in-depth analysis by lifting a front panel (102) at the lower opening (107). The in-depth analysis can be done without removing the cover (100). The cover 100 is also semiopaque, thereby protecting patient dignity by obfuscating the cover's contents.

Abstract: A bag with a port member according to the present invention includes a bag having an opening and a port member attached to the opening. In addition, the port member has a tubular insertion portion and a bag side connection portion that is connected to a container side connection portion of other container, and the bag is positioned on the innermost circumferential face side of the bag with a port member on an inner face of the insertion portion. According to the bag with a port member, the bag with a port member that can reduce a residual amount of contents to be as small as possible when the contents inside the bag are taken out can be provided.

Abstract: A package having a recloseable pour spout is disclosed, with the package including front and rear package panels which may be joined at respective side edges thereof by inwardly extending side gussets. An upper edge portion of the package is removable, including one of the side gussets, to form a pour spout for dispensing the contents of the package. A fastener strip, which can be detachably connected to itself, extends between confronting inside surfaces of the front and rear package panels, adjacent to the pour spout, whereby the pour spout can be conveniently closed after the package is initially opened. A method of forming the present package is also disclosed.

A second member may be rotatably coupled to the first member, where the second member has a second surface that mates with the first surface to form a seal for the pocket if the second member is rotated to a closed position.

Abstract: A system for providing a shipping label and a packing list on a container is provided which enables rapid and automated sequential application of a packing list and a shipping label to the container. The shipping label is configured complemental to the packing list whereby the packing list may first be adhered directly to the container and then the shipping label may be placed thereover. The shipping label may be applied over the packing list while the container moves continuously down a conveyor. The invention further includes an apparatus for sequentially applying the packing list and then the shipping label, and a method for applying the packing list and shipping label in registry.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to reusable tree cover systems and methods that may be used with live trees or artificial trees. The cover systems may be stored in a pouch placed around the lower trunk of the tree from which the cover or tree bag is withdrawn and pulled up to substantially enclose the tree for transport and/or storage. The reusable systems may be designed to facilitate removal of the cover systems from the stored/covered tree while minimizing the undesirable forces on the tree and the cover system. This may be done by providing features that facilitate removing the cover systems in an upward direction relative to the tree along the stored/covered tree. As this removal direction is the same direction used to store/cover the tree in the first place and matches the natural bending/storing direction of the tree, storing and removal are facilitated by these systems.

Abstract: To facilitate a trouble-free charging of scrap metal having differing constitutions, such as light and heavy scrap metal, from a lower discharge opening of a shaft-shaped charging device or a charging stock preheater (1) into a melting vessel by a pusher (13), the lateral surfaces of the pusher (13) are formed so as to converge from the upper side to the lower side and the actuating device (2) of the pusher (13) is pivotably supported in a frame structure (3) about a horizontal axis. In addition, the upper boundary of the discharge opening for the charging stock from the shaft (2) is preferably formed by a horizontal, rotatably supported roller (26), more preferably with engaging elements (30) distributed around the circumferential surface. Sections of the charging device that are severely mechanically stressed are preferably formed by steel billet sections connected to form a structural unit.

Abstract: A product and process for laundering delicate or dry-clean only garments in a conventional home washing machine. The process represents a home version of the commercial wet-cleaning processes for cleaning of delicate garments. The product comprises a liquid combination washing/conditioning composition and optionally a wash pretreatment composition, a flexible wrap container within which the garments are contained during washing and a pretreatment applicator.

Abstract: A re-sealable container closure label including a base label and a cover label, and a hook-and-loop fastener system and a tamper-evident tear strip is sandwiched therebetween. In a preferred embodiment, the base label is adhered to the front wall of a container, preferably a bag, adjacent an opening in the bag. A flap of the bag is folded downwardly over the opening and adheres to the front wall, the cover label, the two-part hook-and-loop fastener system and the tear strip. In an alternative embodiment, container closure label includes a hook-and-loop fastener system and a tear strip secured only to a base label. This alternative embodiment label is adhered to the front wall of a bag as in the preferred embodiment, except that the flap is adhered directly over the fastener system and tear strip. To open a bag sealed with the re-sealable container closure label, a user pulls the tear strip, which permits the flap to open and form a pour opening.

Abstract: A resealable envelope comprising a flexible plastic back sheet, a backing adhesive applied on a back surface of the flexible plastic back sheet to attach the envelope to a package, a flexible plastic front sheet attached to the back sheet at their respective side edges and bottom edges, a flexible closure flap being adhered directly to the front surface of the back sheet at their respective top edges via a permanent adhesive and overlapping said front sheet, and a resealable adhesive located proximal to the top edge of the front sheet such that the resealable adhesive is capable of fastening said closure flap to the front sheet forming a resealable closure.

Abstract: A liquid storage tank and a method of fabricating and testing the liquid storage tank. The tank is collapsible for ease of transportation when not holding a liquid and includes a base portion and a top portion. The base portion has a bottom wall and a frusto-conical sidewall that is sealed to the bottom wall. The top portion is sealed to the sidewall, and has a flexible opening. The opening is linear in the preferred embodiment and is openable to draw liquid from the tank and closable to prevent contaminants from entering the tank. The bottom wall is substantially circular and the top portion includes two substantially semi-circular sections joined and overlapped along the straight edges to form an overlapped region. The sidewall includes generally triangular shaped sections, and the sections are joined to one another with seams that extend in a slightly helical fashion about the tank. The opening includes a slit in the overlapped region and two L-shaped members.

Abstract: A receiving bag with a seal opening and a sealing clip is disclosed. One end of the receiving bag is installed with a sealing opening. A bag opening at another end of the receiving bag has a sealing track and a sealing strip matching to the sealing track. The sealing track and the sealing strip are tightly engaged so as to seal the opening. In the seal opening of the receiving bag, one end of a flow path is installed with a vent valve, and another end is installed with a vent. A sealing cover and an adhering piece seal the hole of the vent. Thereby, outer air can not flow into the bag.

Abstract: A multilayer resealable container and closure seal for a container comprising a base layer and a face layer adhered together by an adhesive means, wherein said base layer of the seal is adherable to a container to be sealed by folding said closure seal over the opening of a container with greater adhesion of the base layer to the container to be sealed than adhesion of the face label to the base label so the face layer can be removed from the base layer with the base layer remaining adhered to the container and said closure is resealable by folding said face layer over said base layer.

Abstract: This invention relates to a system and method for reclosing a package. A package reclosure is provided with a top layer having a perforation and a carrier substrate. A folded substrate or folded member is provided between the carrier substrate and top layer. The folded member is only secured to the top layer such that, when the perforation is torn, a portion of the folded member may be unfolded to reveal a repositionable adhesive which is used to retain an end of the package in a closed position.

Abstract: The invention concerns a waterproof case, in particular to sea water, opening by mere pressure on two opposite points, consisting of a flattened wallet (1) preferably made in one single piece of synthetic material and comprising on the inner face of the opening edges (5, 6) at least a compressible bonded or sealed joint (7) pressed against the second joint (8) or the opposite edge so as to make it absolutely waterproof when no pressure is exerted, the walls of the device being arranged such that pressure on the side ends of these edges causes them to move apart thus providing access inside the device. The invention is useful for the protection of various objects, such as coins, bank notes, keys, identity papers again water, perspiration, sand, dust and the like.

When the pour-through mouth is opened, the material within the interior of the package can be poured out. The pour-spout closure is arranged for opening and re-closing the package's pour-through mouth and comprises first and second, elongated closure sections which are coupled together. The first closure section includes a first cut-away portion, and is arranged to be located, e.g, secured, on the first panel with the first cut-away portion disposed over at least a portion of the pour-through mouth. Abstract: A bulk bag for receiving, storing, transporting, and discharging liquids comprising four double layer side walls connected end to end to define four corners, four sleeves located at the four corners of the side walls, stiffener panels received between the double layers of the side walls, and stiffener rods received in the sleeves. The bulk bag may be provided with double layer baffles extending across the interior corners of the bulk bag and stiffeners received between the double layers of the baffles. The bulk bag may be provided with double layer dividers which extend across the interior of the bulk bag from the midpoints of the side walls and having stiffener panels therein.

A one-way valve secured to one of the first and second members allows the compressible article and the satchel containing it to be squeezed to drive out any excess air stored within the article allowing it to be stored at a volume which is as much as 50% reduced from its normal volume.

Abstract: An easy-open beverage container and opening system therefor includes an opening provided in a barrier wall. Covering the opening is a tamper-evident pull tab having a holding portion and a topmost free end portion. An adhesive adheres the holding portion to an outside surface of the barrier wall so that the hole is sealed. A pair of slits is provided in the holding portion at opposite lateral edges of the holding portion adjacent the free end portion and the respective slits extend inwardly and downwardly away therefrom. The consumer grasps and pulls the non-adhered free end portion downwardly toward an opposite end of the holding portion to expose the opening. This causes a peeled part of the holding portion initially to be pulled from the barrier wall until the slits are reached; at which time the peeled part laterally separates from a remainder of the holding portion initially along the slits and then further along tear lines beginning at the lowermost ends of the slits to expose the opening.

Abstract: A reclosable plastic bag comprises first and second opposing body panels, a zipper, a slider, and first and second upstanding panels. The opposing body panels are fixedly connected to each other along a pair of sides and a bottom bridging the pair of sides. The zipper extends along a mouth formed opposite the bottom. The zipper includes a first track with a first profile and a second track with a second profile. The first and second profiles are releasably engageable to each other. The slider is slidably mounted to the zipper for movement between a closed position and an open position. The first and second profiles are engaged to each other while the slider is in the closed position, and the first and second profiles are disengaged from each other in response to movement of the slider from the closed position to the open position. The first and second upstanding panels extend upwardly from the respective first and second body panels.

Abstract: A bag with a corner tear-away pour spout opening is provided with a detachable reenforcing patch adhered to the area of a slit near the top of the bag which serves as a carry handle to provide enhanced strength to the handle area. The patch can be removed from its position over the handle slit and used to reseal the bag for storage after some of the contents have been dispensed through the pour spout opening.

Abstract: A changeable label pad has a base label layer which can be adhesively attached to a recording media container. A first adhesive having a first strength attaches the base label layer to the container. At least two label segments are attached to the base label layer. The label segments combine to cover most of the base label layer and the label segments are separated from each other. A second adhesive having a second strength which is weaker than that of the first adhesive attaches the label segments to the base label layer. The total area of all of the label segments in a layer of label segments is less than the total area of all of the label segments in an underlying layer of label segments.

Abstract: A self-adhesive label (4) to reclose packets (1), that is usable on all types of packet (1) of the type specified with a paper surface, comprises a first layer (5), that has a permanently self-adhesive side (6) intended to be stuck to the packet (1), and a second layer (7), that has a removable self-adhesive side (8) intended to be stuck to the first layer (5).

Abstract: A bag with a corner tear-away pour spout opening is provided with a detachable reenforcing patch adhered to the area of a slit near the top of the bag which serves as a carry handle to provide enhanced strength to the handle area. The patch can be removed from its position over the handle slit and used to reseal the bag for storage after some of the contents have been dispensed through the pour spout opening.

Abstract: A spill containment bag for use about the coupling of a tank port and a conduit comprises a flexible bag member defining an enclosure with a pair of opposed apertures in its sidewall to permit passage therethrough of the tank port and conduit, and the sidewall seats snugly about the elements passing therethrough so as to provide a seal. The top wall of the bag provides a disengageable closure for the bag to permit access to its interior. One or more vents may be provided to permit air to flow therethrough, and carrying straps are also provided. To seal the bag, flaps cover the apertures and vents. In use, the top wall is opened to permit coupling the conduit to the tank port, and the vents may be opened as required for the particular operation. When the operation is complete, the conduit is disconnected and the flaps overlying the apertures and vents are closed to permit transport of the bag with its contents.

Abstract: A label is used to seal a package and provide an indication that an end edge of the package has been opened, while also allowing resealing of the package end edge. The label comprises a substrate with top and bottom faces and first and second parallel edges, with indicia (such as price per unit weight, weight, and total price indicia) imaged on the top face. A perforation generally bisects the substrate into generally equally-sized first and second portions, the perforation extending generally transverse to the first and second edges. On the bottom face of the first portion is permanent adhesive (e.g., pressure sensitive), while on the bottom face of the second portion is repositional adhesive. To open the package one tears along the perforation line to detach the second portion of the label from the package, and then tears the first label portion at the package end edge. To reseal the end edge, one places the second label portion over the end edge, the repositional adhesive holding it in place.

Abstract: A hangable packaging and information dispensing device being a transparent plastic bag and plastic hanger/flap for displaying and dispensing printed information in the form of flyers, photographs, statistics, sales brochures, instructions and messages in an outdoor setting. The plastic bag is of a different material than the plastic hanger/flap. A method of forming the hanger/flap and bonding with the plastic bag is disclosed.

Abstract: A shallow rectangular frame has a hanger by which it can be suspended. The frame internally mounts a compartment-defining sheet with vertically oriented partitions. Upper ends of each of the compartments have hooks from which to suspend elongate articles of jewelry within the compartments. An auxiliary cloth panel of rectangular configuration has a plurality of pockets and is tackable or pinable to receive various articles of jewelry. In the underside of the top rail a plurality of horizontally spaced apart outwardly facing cup hooks are provided to engage a rod carried in aligned fabric loops at the upper edge of the auxiliary panel. The panel can thus be selectively placed laterally with respect to the main frame to expose the open sides of some only of the compartments. A travel envelope can be sleeved over the auxiliary panel and has a plurality of external pockets to receive sundry items.

Abstract: A flexible duplex bag having a resealable closure and a method of making same includes an outer bag having (a) front and rear panels connected together at side edges thereof, (b) a gusset connecting together top portions of said front and rear panels. An inner bag substantially co-extensive with the outer bag is provided and has (a) front and rear panels connected together at side edges thereof, and (b) a gusset connecting together top portions of the inner bag front and rear panels. A resealable closure is provided connected to the outer bag gusset astride a location where the outer bag gusset joins the outer bag front panel. A handle is connected to the outer bag and bridges the outer bag gusset. The resealable closure preferably includes a first matable section bonded to the outer bag gusset, and a second matable section bonded to a top portion of the outer bag front panel. In a first embodiment, the handle is coupled to the outer bag rear panel and to the second matable section of the resealable closure.

Abstract: This invention provides tamper-safety labeling that can easily be applied to a container and closure means to disclose the opening of the container. This labeling is a single piece one that has a generally parallel perforated tear strip and tab formed from the face stock and that allows the tear strip and usually perforated member to be formed and laminated to a release liner having a release thereon at least commensurate with adhesive positioned in the laminate on each side of the tear strip in the face stock. Also, the tear strip may run at any angle from the horizontal plane of the container to permit the tear strip to be removed to present different arrangements of the labeling on the container and may become a product or origin identification for the container.

Abstract: A zipper closure strip for attachment to the top of a formed, filled and sealed package is provided. The zipper strip has a pair of interlocking profile members that extend from bowed webs which conform generally to the cross section of the top of the filled package. The strip may thus straddle the top of the package, gable fashion, and be bonded to the top of the package by heat seals, adhesive or the like. A slider seats on the profile members for urging them into engagement or forcing them apart. A blade protrudes through the slider from a plunger to enable the film at the top of the package beneath the closure strip to be slit. The zipper may be cuffed to expose the top end of the package to facilitate opening.

Abstract: A flexible bulk container for the handling and storage of flowable or powdered bulk materials is provided which includes the combination of a flexible and collapsible bulk bag bottom component having an encircling first side wall, a bottom end with an opening therethrough through which contents are discharged connected about its periphery to a bottom end of said first side wall and an open upper end opposite said bottom end and a flexible and collapsible bulk bag top component having a top end, an opposite open lower end and an encircling second side wall connected about the periphery of the top end which is separably receivable within and generally complementary to the first side wall of the bag bottom component wherein the top and bottom ends and first and second side walls define an interior stoarage space therebetween for flowable granular or powdered bulk material with the second side wall being adapted to be in firm engagement with the first side wall when the storage space is at least partially filled.

Abstract: An easy-open container includes guide strips to limit tearing to areas adjacent to the intended line of tearing with a tear strip. The guide strips protect zipper elements and bag walls from distortion or tearing due to deviating tear lines. In a second embodiment, the guide strips are included with one or more tear strips on a membrane which may be attached to a container.

Abstract: A reclosable bag has an open end which is closed by a closure strip which can be repeatedly reclosed. The closure strip preferably comprises a hook and loop fastener means which can be brought into engagement and a frangible section running lengthwise of the closure strip. The closure strip is adhesively sealed to the ends of the bag by adhesive sections on opposite sides of the frangible section. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, any opening force applied to the closure by the bag contents places the hook and loop fastener under shear stress only.

Abstract: A flexible bulk container for the handling and storage of flowable or powdered bulk materials is provided which includes the combination of a flexible and collapsible bulk bag bottom component having an encircling first side wall, a bottom end with an opening therethrough through which contents are discharged connected about its periphery to a bottom end of said first side wall and an open upper end opposite said bottom end and a flexible and collapsible bulk bag top component having a top end, an opposite open lower end and an encircling second side wall connected about the periphery of the top end which is separably receivable within and generally complementary to the first side wall of the bag bottom component wherein the top and bottom ends and first and second side walls define an interior stoarage space therebetween for flowable granular or powdered bulk material with the second side wall being adapted to be in firm engagement with the first side wall when the storage space is at least partially filled.
