Abstract: An agricultural seed planting implement has a frame moveable in an up and down direction relative to soil over which the frame traverses. A seed trench opening assembly mounted on the frame includes disks mounted side by side and having a forming point positioned in between. A wearable insert of plastic is slidably but non-rotatably retained in the forming point to abut the disks when they are deflected. The disks are removable to enable simple replacement of the wearable insert.

Abstract: A bearing assembly (20) with a self-lubricated liner interface (70) supported between a spherical outside surface (72) of a sealed agricultural bearing (20b) and a steel containment housing (60,62). The interface (70) includes a lubrication-impregnated plastic interposed between the housing (60,62) and the spherical surface (72) to relieve the bearing from the high forces of shaft misalignment. The plastic liner includes a compressible portion such as radially projecting protrusions (82), O-rings (82a) or other resilient band, or compressible molded plastic (H2) to accommodate varying tolerances between the outside spherical surface (72) and housing cavity surfaces (68) and liner (70) and to bias the liner (70) against the spherical surface (72) to prevent bearing rotation. The plastic liner halves (70a,70b) fit firmly over the outside bearing surface to reduce entry of dirt and contaminants into the housing and onto the spherical bearing surface (74).

Abstract: The invention relates to a rotating, disc-shaped, agricultural tool which is mounted in a frame of a machine via a hub and a bearing arrangement. The bearing arrangement is distinguished by the fact that it is formed from two angular roller bearings which are set in back-to-back arrangement and whose raceways are arranged inclined at an angle to a bearing axis, wherein a space accommodation the angular roller bearings is defined on the outside in the radial direction by a hub body, of V-shaped design in its centre part and having contact surfaces, and on the inside in the radial direction by a supporting ring having spaced-apart contact surfaces on both sides in the axial direction, wherein the hub body is provided at an axial end with a fastening element for fastening the tool. Abstract: A bearing assembly has first and second trunnions supporting a bearing and defining a trunnion pivot axis. In the improvement, each of the trunnions is mounted in and supported by a separate cushion member of annular shape. The assembly permits bearing pivoting about the trunnion pivot axis (i.e., about the X axis) and the cushion members permit limited freedom of movement of the trunnions in axes (i.e., the Y and/or Z axes) which are angular to the pivot axis. The new bearing assembly is ideal for use on an earth-working implement such as a disc harrow.

Abstract: A holding device for a boring head tool and the tool itself are arranged so that the tool can be mounted from the rear of the boring head. The tool is mounted on a supporting member which has head parts provided with supporting faces and the holding device has rigid support surfaces for engaging the supporting faces of the tool. The support surfaces are directed towards the front of the holding device and the holding device also has passages extending from the rear to in front of the rigid support surfaces as to allow the passage therethrough of the head parts for assembly. The head parts are conveyed through the passages in rotated positions offset with respect to their position in the assembled state and then moved to an assembly position in which the contact surfaces of the tool are held against the rigid support surfaces of the holding device by fastening screws which engage in threaded bores of the head parts.
