Patent number: 11968926Abstract: A forage harvester that includes a cutterhead assembly and two frame parts between which the cutterhead assembly is rotatably suspended. The forage harvester assembly is held on both frame parts by a clamp bearing that defines a rotary axis. Contact points between an element on the frame part side and an element on the assembly side of the clamp bearing lie on a spherical surface centered on the rotary axis.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: CLAAS Selbstfahrende Erntemaschinen GmbHInventors: Stefan Look, Jochen Rathjens

Patent number: 11313508Abstract: A radial positioning device is disclosed. The radial positioning device can include a body. The body can include a circumferential surface having a spring location and at least one interface portion operable to interface with a mating component. The body can also have a recess with a depth that varies relative to the circumferential surface about the body. The radial positioning device can also include a spring disposed in the recess. The spring can have a radial dimension greater than the depth of the recess at the spring location. The spring can be operable to contact the mating component at the spring location and compress in the radial dimension to provide a spring force that biases the at least one interface portion and the mating component against one another.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2019Date of Patent: April 26, 2022Assignee: Raytheon CompanyInventor: Jeffery M. Patent number: 9726225Abstract: A distributed load bearing including an outer flex ring, a load distribution spring, and a retainer. The outer flex ring is configured to be positioned radially outwards of a shaft. The load distribution spring is preloaded and positioned radially outwards of the outer flex ring. A radially inner surface of the load distribution spring contacts the outer flex ring. The radially inner surface is an arc defined by a first radius when the load distribution spring is in a lower load distribution mode, and a second radius when the load distribution spring is in a higher load distribution mode. The retainer is positioned radially outwards of the load distribution spring, and the retainer angularly and radially positions the load distribution spring.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2015Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Steven A Reich, Matthew J Graeser, Dale J Swehla, Micheal A Langner

Patent number: 8746204Abstract: Reciprocating motion can be converted to rotary motion through a crankshaft and a connecting rod. In a joint between a connecting rod and a piston, the connecting rod rocks with respect to the piston. In some situations, the connecting rod is a pullrod always in tension or a pushrod always in compression making it difficult to lubricate the bearing surfaces. A joint is disclosed in which the bearing surfaces rock with respect to each other with no sliding between the surfaces. The connecting rod has a bearing surface that is part of a cylinder having a radius equal to a distance between a central axis of the journal to which the connecting rod is coupled and the bearing surface. The pin has a convexly- or concavely-curved bearing surface and the local radius is based on material properties and the local peak force that the rocking joint is designed to transmit.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2011Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: EcoMotors, Inc.Inventor: Peter P. Patent number: 8276893Abstract: An elastomer-containing rod end isolator. The isolator includes a handle for connection to a load and inner and outer members. The outer member is a pocket and the inner member is spherical or nearly so. The pocket and the inner member are concentric and the inner member has two continuous exterior legs extending in a circular path. An elastomer fills most of the space between members.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2010Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: SKF USA Inc.Inventor: S. Gregory Martin
