  • Patent number: 7708466
Abstract: A lubricated bushing is mounted in a mounting cavity in a bushing housing and has a body and a flange. The body has an axial hole formed coaxially through the body to rotatably hold a shaft of a rotor of a fan and a bottom concentric recess formed in a bottom end of the body. The flange is formed on and protrudes radially out from the outer wall of the body, is mounted against an inner wall of the mounting recess, extends longitudinally from the top end of body and is shorter than half the body. Even though the inner wall of the mounting cavity tightly compresses the flange, the compressive force cannot be effectively transmitted to the body to deform the axial hole, so the shaft is kept from seizing up in the axial hole.

  • Patent number: 7649291
Abstract: The present invention relates to a limit structure for motor spindle, which includes a base equipped with a shaft tube and a stator set. A limit member and a bearing are disposed inside a shaft tube such that a spindle can be inserted and rotated in the bearing. The inner wall of a through hole of the limit member has plural limit protrusions extended toward a center of the through hole for snapping a necking of a nose of a spindle to limit its axial displacement. The limit protrusion forms a non-vertical included angle with the inner wall of the through hole in a tilted manner. Therefore, when the limit protrusions are subjected to compression of the nose of the spindle, its deformation is so small that irrecoverable condition and fracture of the limit protrusion and rotor drop can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6056442
Abstract: A roller supporting device comprises a pair of supporting arms, a supporting shaft attached between the pair of supporting arms in a non-rotatable manner, and a roller having an inner hole in the central part thereof, the roller being disposed between the pair of supporting arms and being supported in a rotatable manner by the supporting shaft inserted through the inner hole, the roller being arranged to rotate along with the relative movement with a mating member by making the roller contact with the mating member, wherein a cut out portion, which extends in the axial direction on the outer circumferential surface of the supporting shaft, is formed at an appropriate portion except the portion on which the inner circumferential surface of the inner hole of the roller is pressed due to the load applied to the roller from the mating member, thereby defining an oil passage which extends in the axial direction between the supporting shaft and the inner circumferential surface of the inner hole of the roller.

  • Patent number: 5951171
Abstract: A slide bearing for a gear pump or the like has a lubrication groove provided in the surface of the cylinder forming the slide bearing. The lubrication groove is constructed to be ending flatly in the area of that edge which, with respect to the shaft rotating direction acts as an inlet edge into the slot between the slide bearing and the shaft. Thus, it is achieved that the slide bearing is sufficiently lubricated also by fluid which flows at a higher viscosity and has an unknown elastic performance.

  • Patent number: 5913608
Abstract: A slide bearing has a bearing bore for accommodating a shaft acted upon at least temporarily by a radial force. At least one bearing end of the slide bearing has at least one chamfer for preventing a contact between the shaft and the slide bearing and/or for facilitating the supply of the slide bearing with lubricating medium. In a preferred embodiment, in which the radial force acts essentially in a predetermined direction onto the shaft, at least one chamfer is provided on an unstressed side created because of the predetermined force effect, which chamfer is larger than a chamfer on a stressed side situated opposite the unstressed side. By means of the chamfer or chamfers, the danger of contact on the unstressed side caused by a bending of the shaft is reduced and the supply of the slide bearing with lubricating medium is increased without significantly reducing the bearing length on the stressed side which essentially carries the bearing load.

  • Patent number: 5788381
Abstract: An engine has two balancer shafts supported on two bearing bushings which are made of the same material and mounted to a balancer holder. Lubricating oil passages for supplying oil to the bearing bushings are defined offset upwards from the centers O of the bearing bushings and by a distance .delta.. Each of the bearing bushings has two oil bores having a center angle .theta. other than 180.degree.. The two oil bores in the bearing bushing of one balancer shaft communicate with the lubricating oil passage, and one of the oil bores in the bearing bushing of another balancer shaft communicates with the lubricating oil passage, while the other oil bore of that another balancer shaft is closed to keep out of the lubricating oil passage. Thus, downstream ends of the lubricating oil passages for supplying the oil to the bearing bushings of the plurality of rotary shafts can be closed without use of a special closing member such as a blind plug.

  • Patent number: 5567056
Abstract: A planet bearing and gear assembly for the carrier of a speed increasing planetary gear train for driving a diesel engine turbocharger or the like includes an enlarged diameter gear bore and associated bearing outer diameter for lightening the gear and increasing the bearing area to at least 50 percent and preferably more than 65 percent greater than those of the bearing inner wall and the outer diameter of an associated support pin. Self-cleaning of unfiltered dirt particles in the engine lubricating oil is provided by dirt expulsion passages formed by flats at the edges of an oil supply groove in the planet bearing while operation with entrained dirt particles capable of passing through the engine lubricating oil filters is improved by increased oil film thickness resulting from reduced bearing loads due to reduction of mass of the planet gears and increased bearing surface.

  • Patent number: 5529399
Abstract: A combined journal-thrust bearing assembly includes a bearing body formed of upper and lower sections secured together at an axial plane. To the axial ends of the bearing body, thrust rings are removably mounted with the thrust rings also being formed of segments, the ends of which lie in the axial plane. Extending through a bore defined by the bearing face of a journal liner is a rotating shaft having a pair of spaced collars. The collars abut bearing faces of the thrust rings to prevent axial movement of the shaft relative to the bearing assembly. Disassembly of the bearing body about the axial plane facilitates repair or replacement of the bearing body sections, the liner, or worn thrust rings independently of one another. An oil delivery system is also provided for lubricating the interface between the shaft and the journal bearing face as well as lubricating the interface between the thrust bearing faces and the shaft collars.

  • Patent number: 5364248
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide sliding members having preferable lubrication and seizure resistance. Sliding members comprising a columnar texture which is composed from at least one of metal nitrides, metal oxides, metal carbides, and metals on a base member, wherein the columnar texture is composed of assemblies of fine columnar asperities, with intervals formed between the columnar asperities being connected to each other so as to form a net work, and with gaseous, liquid, or solid lubricants being maintained in the intervals. The mutually connected intervals in the columnar texture are superior in filling and holding of lubricants, and the above described superiorities improve lubrication and seizure resistance and extend sliding life.
