  • Patent number: 8282282
Abstract: A motion guide device is able to damp a moving block from vibrating in a direction perpendicular to an axis of a raceway rail. A damping plate with a surface facing a surface of a raceway is provided at a moving block body. The surface of the damping plate is set to be in contact with the raceway rail or is set such that a gap between its surface of the raceway rail is as close to zero as possible. When vibration occurs from the raceway rail or the moving block, the surface of the raceway rail and the surface of the damping plate come into contact with each other. This brings about change in a spring constant of the motion guide device in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the raceway.

  • Patent number: 6524092
Abstract: A middle liner of a slide guide device for a machine press has a spherical shaped side which fits into a sliding gib attached to a slide. The middle liner slides along a fixed gib at first and second linear surfaces that are at an angle with each other. The combination of self-alignment and smooth movement of the slide is achieved in the presence of an eccentric load acting on the slide. A machine press equipped with such a slide guide device has excellent eccentric load resistance and high working precision. In a further embodiment, a press machine is further equipped with a knockout device having knockout block moving between a pair of guide rails. A plurality of middle liners, each having at least one spherical surface, are positioned between the knockout block and the guide rails. The resulting knockout device provides a stable knockout load with low noise and low energy consumption.

Abstract: A linear unit (10, 10a, 10b) with a sliding guide (10) for a carriage (16, 16a, 16b) on a guide profile (12, 12a) is proposed. Slide elements (14, 14b, 14c, 14d) are fixable to the carriage (16, 16a, 16b). By means of a recess (50) in the carriage (16, 16a, 16b), an adjusting element (52) can be guided that engages a recess (48, 74) which is embodied in the slide elements (14, 14b, 14c, 14d). As a result, the slide elements (14, 14b, 14c, 14d) can move transversely to the guide direction of the guide profile (12, 12a), and as a result the play of the sliding guide (27, 27a, 27b) can be adjusted.

Abstract: A system for adjusting the play in a linear guide, the linear guide incorporating a slide provided with running surfaces and guided between guide surfaces of a guide element. The linear guide also includes bearing members that are disposed between running surfaces and guide surfaces, with at least one running surface held on the slide elastically displaceable in the cross-direction and adjustable by a spreader element against a guide surface assigned to the running surface. This renders the play between the slide and the guide element adjustable. The spreader element comprises a hollow body that incorporates a continuous through-opening extending in the longitudinal direction and is elastically displaceable or deformable by an adjusting element cooperating with the same.

Abstract: A preload hydrostatic bearing includes a pad, a diaphragm and an adjustable member. The pad has a bearing structure, an inlet manifold, and a plurality of orifices. The orifices direct a fluid, such as air, from the inlet manifold toward the bearing surface. The diaphragm is mounted on the pad, and the adjustable member, which extends in an axial direction, is coupled proximate one end to a center portion of the diaphragm. The diaphragm transfers a preload in the axial direction to the adjustable member. This preload hydrostatic bearing has a high repeatability of performance, because a single diaphragm replaces prior art mechanical coupling devices, such as ball bearings, conical seats and spring washers, which undesirably are sources of friction and hysteresis.

Abstract: Traversing rods in textile machines producing crosswound bobbins are often made of carbon fibers for the purpose of reducing the inertia force. These kinds of traversing rods are prone to wear at their bearing points. For this reason, the traversing rod whose bearings have a distance between them which corresponds to at least twice, preferably three times the traversing stroke, is so far displaced in its longitudinal direction in order to re-new the bearing points that other areas of the traversing rod than before now act together with the bearings.
