Roller Patents (Class 384/44)
  • Patent number: 5161896
Abstract: In a rolling bearing for linear movements, two rolling member circuits arranged between one arm of a U-shaped guide carriage and a lateral face of a guide rail, are substantially perpendicular to one another with their force transmission planes and are substantially parallel to one another with their circuit planes. All rollers have parallel axes in each of the two roller circuits. The load-transmitting row of rollers and the return row of rollers are offset from one another in the axial direction of the rollers in both roller circuits.

  • Patent number: 5161897
Abstract: A multiple track linear motion recirculating roller bearing assembly is provided for movement on a substantially cylindrical shaft. The bearing assembly includes a housing with a pair of end caps having a plurality of radially arranged roller turnarounds therein positioned at either end. The housing defines a plurality of radially disposed axial roller tracks, each having both load-bearing paths and return paths, which paths are in communication with the roller turnarounds formed in the end caps. Axial roller guides are provided which extend longitudinally within the housing between the end caps and are uniquely formed as a single integral axial guide element. This integral axial guide element serves to receive and retain load-bearing plates therein. Rollers are disposed in both the load-bearing and return paths of the roller tracks and are adapted to efficiently move the carriage along a substantially cylindrical shaft.

  • Patent number: 4702623
Abstract: A linear bearing for continuous longitudinal movement in which friction due to changes in the direction of rotation of the rollers is eliminated or substantially reduced. The linear bearing comprises a housing which defines at least one closed roller orbit having an inner surface and an outer surface for accommodating a plurality of rollers. Each roller orbit also comprises a load zone and a return travel zone, which are interconnected at both ends by reversal regions. The load zone is partly defined by a raceway located in the housing adjacent to the load zone for applying a load to the rollers, the raceway forming part of the outer surface of each roller orbit. Respective section planes of the rollers in the load zone and the rollers in the return travel zone intersect along an axis which extends parallel to the load zone, and advantageously define an angle of about 15.degree. to 60.degree., or more preferably about 40.degree. to 50.degree..

  • Patent number: 4692036
Abstract: A roller bearing for endless linear motion is composed of a long size track rail having a track groove on its outer face, a slide unit having an endless circuit including a track groove, said slide unit being mounted on the rail; and rollers being arranged in cross-roller mode for the endless linear motion. The circulation path for the roller is constructed by track grooves, return path and direction changing paths. The track groove and return path are straight and parallel to each other, and the direction changing path connects the track groove and the return path at respective ends. A slightly inclined clearance groove is provided on the both ends of the track groove on the side of the slide unit, and its angle is formed greater than the angle of the track groove. The boundary line between the track groove and the clearance groove is V-shaped, seen from the end face of the track rail, and the apex of the V-shape points to the side of the clearance groove.

  • Patent number: 4692037
Abstract: A roller bearing is composed of a truck rail, a casing mounted astride the truck rail and a number of rollers arranged in a parallel-roller type; a return passage formed in the casing is connected to a truck face of the truck rail through a direction change passage for an infinite rectilinear motion, further in a part of the direction change passage there is formed a twisting passage, which makes it possible to form the truck groove and the return passage approximately on the same horizontal plane. Further in a bearing having four rows of endless circulation passages, the twisting passage can be formed either only in a pair of corresponding roller-rows or in the all of the roller-rows. Thus there can be provided a roller-bearing having the lowest possible sectional height, and comparatively a great load capacity, at a reasonable price.

  • Patent number: 4688950
Abstract: A linear motion roller bearing for allowing an object such as a slider to move along a straight line defined, for example, by a track rail includes an endless path and a plurality of rollers having substantially the same size in diameter and height, which are arranged in contact in the endless path with their axes of rotation directed as rotated over 90.degree. alternately with respect to the longitudinal axis of the endless path. The endless path includes a pair of straight portions and a pair of semicircularly curved portions each of which connects the corresponding ends of the pair of straight portions. Each of the curved portions is so structured that the maximum number of rollers which can be present therein ranges between (even number +0.1) and (even number +0.5) if the pair of straight portions are not provided on the same horizontal plane and between (integer +0.1) and (integer +0.5) if the pair of straight portions are provided on the same horizontal plane or a plane close thereto.

Abstract: A crossed roller type linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly includes a straight rail and a slider mounted on the rail slidably therealong. An endless circulating path is defined in the slider, in which a plurality of rollers are provided. Since the path includes a load section where the rollers provide a rolling contact between the slider and the rail, the slider may slidably move along the rail. Also provided in the endless path are a plurality of roller separators each of which is interposed between two adjacent rollers thereby keeping these two rollers as spaced apart from each other at all times. The separator has a pair of roller-receiving recesses for holding therein the associated rollers in a crossed arrangement, and each of the roller-receiving recesses is so shaped that the roller received therein can change its orientation over a predetermined range so as to maintain a predetermined positional relationship between the two rollers received in the recesses on both sides of the separator.
