  • Patent number: 9624708
Abstract: A closure is described. In a preferred embodiment a novel door roller is presented that is more resistant to a dislodgement force. The door roller comprises a bearing that rolls on a piece of round stock that is part of a door guide. When a dislodgement force is imposed on the door, the door bows and the bearing contacts the stock preventing dislodgement of the door roller from its track and allow the door to remain operational.

Abstract: A damper roller system is provided. The system includes an external rotating element connected to a bearing housing. The bearing housing is filled with a viscous fluid and includes at least one bearing element immersed in the viscous fluid. The bearing housing is connected to at least one sealing element sealing the viscous fluid inside the bearing housing. The bearing element is connected to a non-rotating shaft having opposite first and second ends. The shaft is held in place at the first end by the bearing element and is rigidly connectable at the second end to an object. The first end is nail-shaped and immersed in the viscous fluid. A rotation of the external rotating element drives a common rotation of the bearing housing and of the bearing element, and shears the viscous fluid, causing a damping motion proportional to a rotational speed of the external rotating element.

  • Patent number: 6450689
Abstract: A roller is structured such that one or more grooves are recessed on an outer peripheral surface of an outer race in a bearing. A part of a synthetic resin tire is integrally adhered to the outer race of the bearing and is inserted and welded within a groove on the outer peripheral surface of the outer race in a bearing, whereby a firmer adhesion force can be obtained. Accordingly, a more firmly adhered fitting body is prevented from being peeled off from the outer race of the bearing and the tire and the outer race of the bearing are prevented from separately racing even when the bearing is exposed to a heavy load and rotates at a high speed, such that the roller is adhered so as to prevent from rotating.

Abstract: A guide device includes a shaft member and a column. The column has a through hole formed therein and the shaft member penetrates the through hole of the column. A plurality of pockets are formed on an inner circumferential surface of the through hole of the column. The pockets are disposed on a plurality of cross sectional planes that are perpendicular to an axial direction of the column. In each pocket, there are provided an outer race or roller rolling axially on an outer circumferential surface of the shaft member, and a supporting shaft supporting the outer race rotatably. The column is formed of a plurality of splittable members that are divided on cross sectional planes each perpendicular to the axial direction of the column and that pass through a center line of the supporting shaft. The adjacent splittable members are centered by the supporting shaft.

Abstract: A roller is designed for adaptation into a blasthole drill and is specifically designed for use in conjunction with a rotary carriage to allow the carriage to move up and down a blasthole drill mast as needed. The roller is made of a substantially non-deformable material combined with a deformable material. Under light loads, the deformable material contacts and supports the load to provide enhanced operation of the roller. Under heavy loads, the deformable material advantageously deforms to a point which allows the substantially non-deformable material and deformable material to contact and cooperatively support the load.

Abstract: A large capacity mobile storage system having a plurality of storage units and a plurality of interconnected support assemblies for rolling movement. Each of the support assemblies includes a frame and a pair of spherical shaped hardened steel support wheels. Only one of the support assemblies includes a pair of guide rollers disposed perpendicular to its associated support wheels in order to maintain rolling movement of the storage system along a linear path. The support wheels of the other support assemblies are allowed to move independently from one another in order to prevent the scrubbing action of the supporting apparatus. The supporting assemblies also include a drive track and a sprocket disposed at one end of the storage unit with a drive mechanism. This feature helps to keep the floor area between the flat tracks uncluttered. The apparatus compensates for a significant degree of unlevelness and undulation of the flat tracks caused by an unlevel floor upon which the flat tracks are mounted.

Abstract: A steering gear for a motor vehicle includes a housing, a rack bar, a pinion, a support yoke, a spring, a split roller, and a plurality of bearings. The rack bar is slidably supported within the housing for transverse displacement therein along an axis. The rack bar has teeth on a first side. The pinion has teeth drivingly engaging the teeth of the rack bar. The pinion is rotatably supported within the housing. Rotation of the pinion transversely displaces the rack bar along the axis. The support yoke is slidably disposed in the housing for movement toward a side of the rack bar substantially opposite the teeth of the rack bar. The support yoke has an opening which is open toward the rack bar, with the opening defining two opposed bearing surfaces. The spring is disposed between the housing and the support yoke, and biases the support yoke toward the rack bar. • Patent number: 5946859
Abstract: A motion control system controls the linear motion of a safety gate or other object, to prevent its skewing or binding, by two inter-connecting (meshed) gears, which also connect with (are respectively meshed with) two spaced apart, parallel, linear gear racks. The two gears extend between and interconnect the two gear racks, so that all four components are geared together, and have the same gear pitch. This forces the two spaced apart gear racks to track and move in lock-step with one another in a direction of motion aligned with and parallel to the gear racks, thus insuring linear movement of the member being moved (the safety gate here) irrespective of where on the member the moving member is pushed, pulled or otherwise acted on, i.e., even off-center, and without requiring critical edge guide channels, tracks, or the like. In this example a simple solenoid moves the safety gate with consistently low force.
