Abstract: A liquid presence detecting device that has a simple and compact configuration, and which is high in efficiency, and an air improving device including the detecting device. The liquid presence detecting device includes a magnesium-air battery, and an electrical load. When liquid exists in a detection point, the magnesium-air battery operates (generates electricity), and, when liquid does not exist in the detection point, the operation of the magnesium-air battery stops. Therefore, the liquid presence detecting device detects the presence of liquid, and functions also as a power supply. The air improving device includes the liquid presence detecting device functioning also as a power supply, a device body, and an air improver which is detachably attached into the device body.

  • Publication number: 20150114411
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an inhaler component for the formation of a vapor-air mixture and/or a condensation aerosol by evaporation of a liquid material and optionally the condensation of the formed vapor. In one example, the inhaler component includes an electrical heater to evaporate liquid, a capillary wick that together with the electrical heater defines a compound structure that supplies liquid to the electrical heater, and a carrier supporting the compound structure. The carrier makes electrical contact with the electrical heater, and at least partially defines a portion of a capillary gap. The capillary gap is in fluid communication with the wick and automatically supplies liquid to the compound structure. Internal and external sides or faces of the carrier (relative to the compound structure) can define portions of the capillary gap.

Abstract: A method of emitting a volatile material includes the step of programming a volatile material dispenser to include at least two intensity levels, wherein upon initiation of each of the intensity levels for an operating cycle, a resistor is operated at a first percentage of its power rating for a first period of time. Upon selection of a first of the at least two intensity levels and after the first period of time, the resistor is operated at a second percentage of its power rating for a remainder of an operating cycle. Upon selection of a second of the at least two intensity levels and after the first period of time, the resistor is operated at the second percentage of its power rating for a second period of time and, after the second period of time, operating the resistor at a third percentage of its power rating for a remainder of an operating cycle.
