Velocity Control Of Shutter Or Diaphragm Component Patents (Class 396/235)
  • Patent number: 11656532
Abstract: An information handling system peripheral camera ensures privacy with a cover that minimizes distance of a camera module to a front opening of the camera housing. For instance, opposing cover members rotate about geared ends that engage to translate rotation between the members, where the members meet over a camera opening to block capture of visual images and move to opposing sides to expose the camera module. In an alternative embodiment, a rotating shutter arrangement selectively covers the camera for security and also covers a microphone to provide security against unauthorized audible access through the camera. Selective covering and exposing of a camera module, infrared camera, microphone and user presence detection sensor support adaptive security at a camera based upon end user context.

Abstract: In one example, a head-mounted display (HMD) device includes multiple display panels arranged in parallel with each other. Each of the display panels is associated with one of multiple focal lengths. The HMD device includes multiple lenses to view a three-dimensional (3D) scene on the display panels. The HMD device also includes a controller to provide a frame of the 3D scene, viewable at the focal lengths. The frames include focal layers generated at one of the focal lengths. The frames are rendered by displaying the focal layers in a sequence on the display panels associated with the focal length at which the focal layer is generated. The controller also allows visible light to pass through one or more of the display panels based on whether the render planes are between an active focal layer and the lenses.

Abstract: An automatic exposure control device of a video camera for recording and tie-recording with proper exposure level including an iris mechanism having a two-fin type iris rotated by a ring portion of which the rotational speed is in proportion to an iris control value while an electric battery is switched on and a photograph button is pushed. Recording is actually started after a predetermined period is passed following the pushing of the photograph button. A photometric integrating circuit outputs an iris integrating value from a brightness element of a photograph signal. A microcomputer determines the iris control value from the iris integrating value. During the predetermined period after the pushing of the photograph button, the iris control value is increased and output for every field in order to control the iris with high speed.

Abstract: A focal plane shutter includes first and second shutter blades mounted for forming a slit that is scanned across an aperture. The shutter blades are shaped to form the slit between a trailing edge of the first blade and a leading edge of the second blade, the width of the slit being determined by the relative position of the first and second blades with respect to each other. The velocity of the slit across the aperture is determined by the velocity of the two blades. A pair of moving coil actuators are connected to the blades, for moving the blades relative to the aperture, and a pair of position sensors are connected, one to each shutter blade, for producing signals indicating the positions of the shutter blades relative to the aperture.

  • Patent number: 5761552
Abstract: A camera which can detect the actual opening/closing state of the camera shutter based on a signal reflected towards the shutter by a signal projection unit and received by a signal receiving unit. The signal received by the signal receiving unit is based on the reflectivity of the shutter and, therefore, the signal received by the signal receiving unit is different depending on whether or not the shutter is open or closed. The camera has a reflectivity state detection unit for determining the reflectivity status of the shutter. A reflectivity standard changing unit changes the detection standard of the signal receiving unit based on information output by the reflectivity state detection unit. In this manner, changes in reflectivity of the shutter, due to passage of time or increase in use, will not reduce the accuracy of the detection of the open/close status of the shutter.

  • Patent number: 5758213
Abstract: A shutter of a camera is provided with a shutter trip detecting device includes LEDs and PTRs. Measured are tripping timings of leading and trailing curtains for admitting and intercepting object light to an aperture. An exposure time on a film and a tripping time (curtain velocity) of each curtain are thus detected. The detected result is compared with a fiducial value, and an alarm is given according to the need. There are detected mechanical fluctuation elements relative to the shutter, e.g., a scatter of the exposure time on the film, a partial uneveness of the exposure time and an influence on the exposure time due to a fault in a driving mechanism. The alarm can be thus given to the user, and an automatic adjustment can be made. The shutter trip detecting device includes the shutter leading/trailing curtains, the LEDs and PTRs which detect tripping thereof.

  • Patent number: 5701525
Abstract: A camera shutter and focus encoder assembly comprises an encoder mask fixed in a camera housing and having an arcuate window having alternating opaque and transmissive portions, and an encoder sheet mounted in the housing in abutting relationship with the encoder mask, the encoder sheet being movable with exposure blades and the focus lens of the camera and having an arcuate window having alternating opaque and transmissive portions therein. Means are provided for pressing the encoder mask and the encoder sheet together with the mask and sheet windows in registration with each other. A sensor passes pulses of light through the mask and sheet windows when the transmissive portions thereof are in registration and detects the pulses of light, converts the light pulses to electrical signals, and transmits the electrical signals.
