Abstract: A camera which prevents an invading body from being photographed and yet prevents a self-timer photographing time from being prolonged wastefully. The camera includes a distance measuring device for detecting object distances, a photo-taking device for effecting photo-taking and an angle of field switching device for switching the angle of field of a photo-taking lens in conformity with ON or OFF switches that are connected to a controller for carrying out a self-timer photographing process. During self-timer operation, the time counting of a main timer is started and object distance is repetitively measured. When object distances vary, time counting by the main timer is interrupted and an auxiliary timer is actuated so that self-timer photographing time is prolonged by the time set by the auxiliary timer. After the termination of time counting by the auxiliary timer, time counting by the main timer is restarted.
Abstract: An image capture apparatus is operable in a hand-held condition and in a stabilized non-hand-held condition. The image capture apparatus includes means for automatically determining which condition the image capture apparatus is to be operated in and means for preventing operation of the image capture apparatus in the stabilized non-hand-held condition when it is to be operated in the hand-held condition. In preferred embodiments of the invention, at least one slower shutter speed or one longer focal length is prevented from being used when the image capture apparatus is to be operated in the hand-held condition. As such, the recordation of poor quality images is prevented because camera conditions which can lead to "camera shake" defects are locked out when the camera is to be operated in the hand-held condition.
Abstract: A camera apparatus in which a video camera and a photographic camera are integrally combined or which has a self-timer function, and an aspect conversion circuit for converting the orientation of an image are provided. A normal mode and a self-timer mode are provided, and in either mode, a shutter pulse synchronized with a vertical synchronizing signal is obtained from an output signal of a frequency divider, while in the self-timer mode, a timer is driven by the output signal of the frequency divider, whereby the frequency divider is used in both modes. Alternatively, a still mode and a video mode is provided, and in the still mode, a shutter pulse and a record pulse are output in response to an operation of a shutter switch, while in the video mode, the record pulse is output in response to an operation of a record switch and the shutter pulse is output in response to an operation of the shutter switch.
Abstract: A camera has an exposure device for effecting a photographing operation on a film in response to manipulation of a member, and a self-timer for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation after the counting of a predetermined time. The self-timer has a first state for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation only once and a second state for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation plural times. The camera comprises a first display for indicating that the self-timer is in an operable state, a second display for indicating that the exposure device functions plural times in response to the manipulation of the number, independently of the self-timer, and a control device for controlling the first and second display. The control device is adapted to only activate the first display in the first state of the self-timer and to activate both the first and second displays in the second state of the self-timer.
