Rewind Patents (Class 396/413)
  • Patent number: 5664248
Abstract: A photographic camera has a cartridge chamber in which is loaded a film cartridge having a roll film entirely rolled to its leading end around a spool in a cartridge body and a light-shielding shutter member for opening and shutting a film exit slit formed in the cartridge body, an entrance opening to the cartridge chamber, and a chamber lid which is mounted on the camera to be moved between an opening position where it opens the entrance opening and a closed position where it closes the entrance opening. A shutter lock member moves to a shutter locking position, where it prevents release of the shutter of the camera, in response to operation of a rewind button. A holding member holds the shutter lock member in the shutter locking position, and a release member causes the holding member to release the shutter lock member after closure of the light-shielding shutter member of the film cartridge in response to opening of the chamber lid.

  • Patent number: 5646711
Abstract: An SLR camera which uses a film cartridge having a spool includes first and second motors. The first motor performs a film advancing operation, in which the first motor rotates the spool to advance a film wound on the spool from the film cartridge, and a film rewinding operation, in which the first motor rotates the spool so as to rewind the film into the film cartridge. The second motor performs a film winding operation, in which the second motor rotates a film take-up spool provided in the camera to wind the film around the film take-up spool, a shutter charging operation, in which a shutter charge is performed, a mirror up operation, in which a quick-return mirror provided in the camera is moved up after a shutter release, and a mirror down operation, in which the quick-return mirror is moved down after the mirror up operation is completed.

  • Patent number: 5629750
Abstract: A camera for use with a film cassette having a light lock movable to be closed after an exposed filmstrip is wound into the cassette, comprises a chamber for the cassette from which the cassette can be removed, and a driver movable to close the light lock before the cassette is removed from the chamber. An ingress opening to the chamber is provided to admit an insertion tool into the chamber to push the cassette out of the chamber. A cover is movable relative to the ingress opening to uncover the ingress opening after the driver is moved to close the light lock, to permit the insertion tool to be moved through the ingress opening to push the cassette out of the chamber when the light lock is closed.

  • Patent number: 5628040
Abstract: A film transfer device of a camera, which consists of a charging means for controlling one frame transfer of a film. The charging means is engaged with a winding part and a rewind spindle RS. A sprocket is designed to rotate independently from the winding part and the rewind spindle RS. A second clutch means is provided to compensate for the speed difference between the sprocket and the winding part on film winding or between the sprocket and the rewind spindle on film rewinding.

  • Patent number: 5617168
Abstract: A camera includes a film rewind mechanism that allows manual rewinding of a film spool to a given position. The mechanism includes a one-way clutch that allows the rewind knob to drive the film spool only in a rewind direction. The clutch mechanism has a single arm for transfer of motion between the rewind knob and a spool driver. Use of the single arm clutch allows the rewind knob to be connected with the spool only in a single unique position or phase relation so that the operator can move the rewind knob to an indicated position of the camera body which corresponds with a similarly indicated position of the spool on the film cassette.

  • Patent number: 5612758
Abstract: A photographic still camera includes a rewind lever which is movable to an operative position to engage a metering lever and an actuating lever of a film advance mechanism to prevent the engagement of the metering lever and the actuating lever with a film sprocket wheel, as well as to disengage an anti-backup pawl from a film advance wheel, to allow the sprocket wheel and the film advance wheel to rotate in a reverse direction to rewind a filmstrip.

  • Patent number: 5608479
Abstract: An automatic film winding/rewinding device and related control method for prevention of film exposure to light due to leaving non-rewound film in a camera for a long time or due to a operator mistakingly opening the back cover of the camera. In operation, the device automatically rewinds the film when the camera power switch is turned off for a long period of time. The device winds the film back to the next frame position when the camera is turned on so that the remaining film is fully utilized. Further, the device allows the film to be rewound if the back cover is opened. The device includes a film number sensor for sensing the perforation number of the film as the film is wound and produces an electric signal corresponding to the number of the perforation of the film.

  • Patent number: 5596384
Abstract: A film feeder for taking up a film from a film container one frame at a time by rotation of a takeup spool driven by a film feed motor. The film feeder is provided with a film tension control means for actuating the feed motor in the opposite direction to the direction in which the film is fed only by an amount sufficient to relieve the tension of the film while the film is maintained at a predetermined position every time the film is fed for one frame.
