Abstract: The present invention relates to navigating in a geographic information system. In an embodiment, a method tours geographic information in a geographic information system. A set of actions for a tour is received. Each action includes a tour time. A tour time of at least one of the actions is defined by a user. Each action in the set of actions is executed to tour geographic information in the geographic information system.
Abstract: A terminal 102 creates setting data 400 and inputs setting data 400 into an image output apparatus 101. The image output apparatus 101 sets the initial settings, operation settings, equipment settings, etc. based on the setting data, holds the setting data, and performs various processes based on the set settings and the held setting data. In addition, the image output apparatus 101 performs a media identification process, a media reader switching process, and the like using a media detection means 117, a media reader switching means 118, and the like, and allows only the use of the insertion opening of a predetermined media reader.

Abstract: A digital camera comprises an image sensor for sensing an image; a card reader configured to read a removable data card carrying distortion information; a printer configured to print a distorted image on print media, the printer including a replaceable print roll carrying both the print media and ink to be printed upon the print media; and a controller for controlling the communication of the distorted images to the printer. The print roll includes an ink reservoir section and the ink reservoir section includes a plurality of bladder type containers for storing respective types of ink. A cavity is provided in the ink reservoir section for receiving an integrated circuit device storing information associated with the print roll.
Abstract: A method of capturing and processing sensed images includes the step of sensing a viewed image to generate a viewed image signal carrying data representing the viewed image. The viewed image signal is communicated to a central processor. A printed data storage device on which optically detectable data representing an image processing program is printed is read to generate a program signal carrying data representing the program. The program signal is communicated to the central processor. The program is executed at the central processor so that the central processor carries out an image processing operation on the viewed image in accordance with instructions carried by the program to generate output image data.
Abstract: A VTR compatible with the current analog VTR and capable of recording and reproducing digital signals identifies the type of a tape cassette by the presence or absence of a cassette identification hole formed in a digital recording tape cassette determines tape speed for a recording mode on the basis of the ratio between the frequency of a control signal and the rotating speed of a capstan motor, determines the presence or absence of recorded digital signals through the synchronous detection of reproduced output, and decides the mode for recording and reproducing on the basis of those decisions. Thus, the automatic discrimination between the analog mode and the digital mode can be achieved and erroneous operations, such as an erroneous erasing operation can be prevented.
Abstract: A satellite video receiver (12) for providing output signals to a television signal receiver (52) includes apparatus (10, 15, 16, 20, 45, 60, 65, 70) for operator selection of the modulator output channel frequency of the satellite receiver. The operator may select a modulator main channel, or an alternative manufacturer pre-set modulator default channel. In a first recovery mode, the operator may automatically replace an existing modulator channel with a manufacturer pre-set default channel, e.g., if a chosen main channel is forgotten. In another recovery mode, the operator may automatically re-establish a previously selected modulator main channel recalled from memory.
