Patent number: 9086554Abstract: A dust cover includes a frame shaped to circumscribe an end of a first connector configured to receive a second connector. The connectors can transmit a signal when coupled. A plurality of segments is rotatably coupled to the frame. The frame includes an opening sized to accommodate the second connector. The segments are operable between an open position and closed position. Each segment includes a flexible material and each segment is positioned around the opening and is coupled to the frame at a pivot point. The segments are shaped to cover the opening in the closed position and to expose at least a portion of the opening in the open position. An actuator is rotatably coupled to each segment. Movement of the actuator in a first direction moves the segments to the open position and movement of the actuator in a second direction moves the segments to a closed position.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Kenneth Scea, Sha Sha Yang

Patent number: 6763185Abstract: A camera includes a movable aperture stop plate, which changes over a light path of object light between plural stop states. A depressible shutter release button is provided. A shutter mechanism is released in response to depression of the shutter release button after a charging operation and changing over the movable aperture stop plate, to provide an exposure to the photo film. A photometric circuit including a CdS element measures object brightness adapted for changing over the movable aperture stop plate. A photometric switch includes first and second switch segments, is turned on when pressed, to supply the photometric circuit with power. A blocking pin blocks and turns off the first and second switch segments upon completion of the charging operation of the shutter mechanism, and comes away from the photometric switch when the shutter release button is depressed.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2003Date of Patent: July 13, 2004Assignee: Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.Inventors: Osamu Noguchi, Yuji Mikami

Patent number: 6561704Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a camera having at least one image capture system. A timer latch is biased for movement between a lock position preventing image capture system from capturing an image and a release position that allows the image capture system to capture an image. An actuator is biased for movement between a first position separated from the timer latch and a second position moving the timer latch into the release position. A damper slows the movement of the actuator. According to another aspect of the present invention there is provided a camera having at least one image capture system having a movement actuated shutter and a lever biased to move the shutter. A timer latch is biased for movement between a lock position preventing the lever from moving the shutter and a release position permitting the lever to move the shutter.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2001Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Leonard Richiuso, Anthony DiRisio

Patent number: 5946514Abstract: A camera comprises a shutter release that is manually depressible to initiate picture-taking, and a delayed action device for automatically depressing the shutter release to initiate picture-taking after a predetermined interval of time has elapsed. The shutter release has an engageable portion that can be engaged to depress the shutter release. The delayed action device has a setting piece that is movable in a forward direction to a cocked position to move an engaging portion of the setting device from a closer side to a farther side of the engageable portion of the shutter release and is returned in a reverse direction with the engaging portion in engagement with the farther side to automatically depress the shutter release.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1998Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventor: Edward N. Patent number: 5822639Abstract: A camera having a body, a push-pull, a sliding member, a shutter release, and a timer. The push-pull is movable between primary and secondary positions. The sliding member has a shutter button arm, a shutter actuation arm, and a timer release arm. The sliding member is moveable from a first to a second position by depression of the shutter button arm. The sliding member is limited to movement from the first position to an offset position when the push-pull is moved from the primary to the secondary position. The sliding member in the offset position is substantially blocked from moving toward the second position. The shutter release is movable from an initial position to a stopped position and to a released position. The shutter release is detained in the initial position by the shutter actuation arm when the sliding member is in one of the first and offset positions. The shutter release is released from the shutter actuation arm when the sliding member is in the second position.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1997Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: William B.
