Generating Paper Feed Signal Patents (Class 399/195)
  • Patent number: 9134669
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided that includes a controller configured to perform an acquiring operation of acquiring an exposure completion time point when an exposure operation of exposing a photoconductive body using image data has been completed and a trailing-end detecting time point when a detector has detected a trailing end of a sheet, and a determining operation of determining whether a developer image would be transferred outside the sheet, based on the exposure completion time point and the trailing-end detecting time point acquired in the acquiring operation, a transfer time period required for an arbitrary point on the photoconductive body to move to a transfer position from an exposure position, and a conveyance time period required for a trailing end of the sheet to move to the transfer position since the detector detects the trailing end of the sheet.

  • Patent number: 9031468
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form a measurement image on a recording paper, a fixing unit configured to fix the measurement image onto the recording paper by heating, a measurement unit configured to measure the measurement image fixed on the recording paper downstream of the fixing unit in a conveyance direction of the recording paper, and a correction unit configured to correct a measurement value output from the measurement unit such that an effect of temperature of the recording paper is decreased when the measurement unit measures the measurement image. The correction unit is configured not to correct the measurement value in a case where density of the measurement image is measured by the measurement unit, and the correction unit is configured to correct the measurement value in a case where chromaticity of the measurement image is measured by the measurement unit.

  • Patent number: 8971788
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a sheet conveying unit, a TOD (Top of Data) control module for instructing the image forming unit to start generation of a toner image, a timing roller driving module for instructing the sheet conveying unit to start driving of the timing roller, an image synchronization module designed depending on the sheet conveying unit and the image forming unit, and a sheet information module for generating an image synchronization identifier for designating a pattern of image synchronization control related to printing of the toner image on the sheet, depending on a type of the sheet designated. The image synchronization module is activated when the formation of the toner image on the sheet has become possible, and activate each of the TOD control module and the timing roller driving module, with a relative time lag based on the image synchronization identifier.

  • Patent number: 8630570
Abstract: A transfer device includes a transfer roller, a first resilient member configured to urge the transfer roller in the direction toward a recording medium carrying path, a pair of sliding members configured to support both ends of the transfer roller independently from each other, a pair of transfer roller holding members configured to support the respective sliding members so as to be capable of sliding and rotate about a center of rotation independently from each other, and a carrying guide configured to rotate about the center of rotation, be urged in the direction toward the transfer roller holding members by a second resilient member, and be restricted from rotating by the sliding members.

  • Patent number: 8493630
Abstract: A passport and identification card reader minimizes the time and effort required for an operator to read/scan a passport or piece of identification. An immigration official, for example, can slide a passport into place with one hand while tending to other important security activities with the other hand. Once in place, the passport will be automatically detected and read. Numerous passports bound together by a traveler with multiple visas can be held flat in place and accurately read, even with one hand, despite the natural tendency of the passport(s) to return to a closed position.

  • Patent number: 8139245
Abstract: An approach is provided for managing the processing of print data at a printing device based upon available consumable resources. A printing device includes a print process configured to determine consumable resources that are currently available at the printing device. The print process is further configured to determine which print data is to be processed based upon the consumable resources currently available at the printing device and the consumable resources required to completely process each of the print data. Print data that can be completely processed using the currently available consumable resources are selected for processing. The print process may also be configured to cause a notification to be provided to a client device to indicate the consumable resources currently available at a printing device and/or that insufficient consumable resources were available to process particular print data and to recommend other consumable resources to process the particular print data.

  • Patent number: 7016642
Abstract: A frame image (210) with 5-mm wide margins is formed on a paper sheet on the basis of the leading end and widthwise end positions of the paper sheet (107) detected by a contact image sensor (CIS) (204) in an adjustment mode. After that, this paper sheet (107) is circulated to a feed position via a circulating path (206) and paper convey path (205), and the CIS (204) detects the frame image position formed on the circulated paper sheet and its paper end portion so as to detect errors from the 5-mm wide margins. Correction values which can cancel these errors are stored in a correction parameter storage unit (71), and forming start timing control is made using these correction values upon forming an image in an actual job. In this way, an image forming apparatus which can detect the paper feed timing with high precision, can eliminate deterioration of the image position precision due to mounting errors and durability of components, and can always precisely adjust the image position is provided.

  • Patent number: 6748187
Abstract: The image forming apparatus has exposing device, conveying device, and sheet detecting device for detecting the sheet conveyed by the conveying device, which is disposed between the transferring portion and the conveying device, and control device for judging whether or not it is possible to start exposure by the exposing device before the leading edge of the sheet conveyed by the conveying device reaches the sheet detecting device after the leading edge of the sheet passes through the conveying device and for controlling so that causing the sheet conveyed by the conveying device is stopped in front of the sheet detecting device until it is determined that it is possible to start exposure by the exposing device. In the image forming apparatus, the image forming apparatus starts to form a latent image by the exposing device based on the detection of the sheet by the sheet detecting device.
