Power Supply Patents (Class 399/37)
  • Patent number: 11822268
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a heating portion that includes a heating element which is heated by power from a power supply and heats an image, a temperature detecting portion that detects temperature of the heating portion, and a power control portion that controls power supplied to the heating element based on information from the temperature detecting portion. The image forming apparatus further includes a detecting portion that detects whether voltage from the power supply exceeds a rated value, and when the detecting portion detects that the voltage from the power supply exceeds the rated value, the power control portion controls the power supply such that a waveform pattern of an electric current to the heating element in one control cycle becomes a waveform pattern of phase control, where power supplying time to the heating element in one half wave becomes a predetermined time or less.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a drum unit, a process frame, a lock member and an intermediate transferring unit. The drum unit rotatably supports a rotating shaft of a photosensitive drum. The process frame has an attachment part to which the drum unit is attached. The lock member positions the drum unit to the attachment part. The intermediate transferring unit is attached to the process frame after the drum unit is attached. The lock member has a supporting part, an engagement part and a restriction part. Though the supporting part, an end of the rotating shaft is passed. The engagement part is engaged with the process frame between the process frame and the intermediate transferring unit. The restriction part interferes with the intermediate transferring unit between the engagement part and the intermediate transferring unit to prevent the engagement part from being detached from the process frame.

Abstract: To keep up with achievement of the TEC value and suppressing the wear-out of hardware. An image forming apparatus of the present disclosure, which is configured to transit, after an elapse of a sleep-transition time, to enter a power-saving state in which power supply destinations are limited when compared to a normal state, includes a power amount prediction unit and an extension control unit. The power amount prediction unit acquires, whenever a state-transition is made, a power-consumption amount during an immediate preceding power-saving state to calculate a predicted power-consumption amount in a specific period based on the power-consumption amount. The extension control unit gives priority to the sleep-transition to enter the power-saving state if the predicted power-consumption amount exceeds the TEC value corresponding to the specific period, while extends the sleep-transition time if the predicted power-consumption amount fails to exceed the TEC value corresponding to the specific period.

  • Patent number: 8928909
Abstract: A startup operation control apparatus includes a main-power-source operation unit, a determining unit, a memory, and a controller. The main-power-source operation unit is operated to supply and shut off power from a power source. The determining unit determines whether or not the main-power-source operation unit has been operated. The memory stores, every time an operation mode of a processing device that operates by receiving power supply from the power source changes, information representing the changed operation mode in an updating manner. If the determining unit determines, upon a shift from a power shutoff state to a power supply state, that the main-power-source operation unit has not been operated, the controller performs control so that the processing device operates in the operation mode represented by the information stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 8891997
Abstract: A power supply apparatus determines that an input AC voltage has reached a voltage at which a power supply control IC can start operating, based on the voltage at an auxiliary winding of a transformer included in a first converter. Note that since the first converter operates so as to maintain a constant voltage at the auxiliary winding, whether the input AC voltage has fallen to an operation lower limit voltage or lower cannot be detected by only monitoring the voltage at the auxiliary winding. The power supply apparatus monitors a second voltage that is proportional to the input AC voltage is generated from the voltage being applied to the primary side of a second converter. Accordingly, the power supply control IC starts and stops operating in accordance with the input AC voltage.
