  • Publication number: 20120328323
Abstract: In a fixing unit in which a recording material carrying a toner image is heated while conveying in a nip portion to fix the toner image onto the recording material, a measure is required, which can to prevent both of temperature rise at non-sheet-passing area and condensation slippage using at least one air supplying unit. Separately providing air supplying units for these two issues results in the need of a plurality of fans only for the fixing unit, increasing the size and cost of the apparatus. Thus, decreases in size and cost of a fixing unit and an image forming apparatus including the fixing unit can be achieved by using a common air supplying member to prevent both of temperature rise at non-sheet-passing area and condensation slippage.
