  • Patent number: 4207628
Abstract: A toilet seat and an overlying bidet basin replacing the toilet seat cover. The toilet seat has enlarged inward sloping opposite middle portions for the supportive engagement of the user's thighs and an opening including enlarged front and rear portions and a relatively narrow middle portion. The lack of any support areas in the front and rear portions of the seat in combination with the inwardly sloped configuration of the enlarged opposite middle portions positions the user into a semi-squat position, thighs and buttocks spread apart, legs angled upwardly, body bent forward at the waist, over the middle portion of a toilet bowl. The enlarged front and rear portions of the opening allow the insertion of the hand for blotting and wiping and prevent soiling. The bidet basin is pivoted down over and into the toilet seat and is consisting of a bidet seat portion which overlies the toilet seat and a bidet bowl portion which penetrates and covers the opening of the seat.

  • Patent number: 4181988
Abstract: An adjustable size toilet seat is provided having a primary seat and an auxiliary seat structure which is relatively adjustable to reduce the effective seat opening. The primary seat includes longitudinally extending but laterally spaced side elements having inwardly facing longitudinal edges defining a fixed opening. The auxiliary seat structure includes longitudinally extending and laterally spaced seat elements which are carried by said primary seat for transverse movement relative to each other in adjusting the effective size of the seat opening. Each of the auxiliary seat elements have inwardly facing, longitudinally extending edges which are of the same configuration as the edges of the primary seat and are selectively displaceable from a position underlying a respective side element of the primary seat to a relatively inward position defining a reduced size seat opening.

A bidet basin is pivotally mounted on the bowl above the seat and has a peripheral seating flange overlying the seating surface of the toilet seat as well as a basin portion which extends through the opening of the toilet seat into the water basin of the bowl. The bowl rim, toilet seat, and bidet have a generally complementary peripheral configuration to provide a uniform and neat appearance, as well as comfortable seating.
