Flush-valve Operators Patents (Class 4/249)
  • Patent number: 4011605
Abstract: A flushing and refilling apparatus for use in a flushing cistern includes flushing and refilling valves, an overflow member and a common support having quick release coupling means for easy mounting and dismounting of said apparatus and said overflow member as a unit of assembled parts.

  • Patent number: 4007499
Abstract: Control apparatus used in connection with commodes automatically moves a trip lever for flushing the commode and includes a member adapted to be connected to the trip lever for moving between an initial position and a flushing position to cause the trip lever to raise a drain valve to its open position. A spring moves the member to its flushing position, and a person-operated device causes energy to be stored in the spring and releases subsequently the energy from the spring to move the member toward its flushing position. A latching device connected to the member connects releasably the member and the trip member for moving it and the valve against the force of water pressure acting on the valve until the water pressure equals the force applied by the spring after sufficient water discharge.

  • Patent number: 3999223
Abstract: A dual capacity flush valve has a handle or actuator which is normally operated to provide a low volume flush; a selector member is positioned adjacent the handle and when operated enables the handle to be operated to provide a full capacity flush. The handle is moved in the same direction for both flush volumes. The valve handle actuates a valve member shown as a plate having one or more valve openings for controlling the flow of water, the plate being rotated by the handle to open the valve and then being rotated in the same direction by a water motor when the water flows through a plate opening. Rotation of the plate by the motor returns the valve to its closed position. The amount of opening of the valve determines the duration and capacity of the flush.

  • Patent number: 3945057
Abstract: A control for a water closet, enabling the valve actuating float to be adjusted from outside of the tank to enable a relatively small volume of water to be normally introduced to the tank for flushing purposes. By actuation of a simple control, the float may be allowed to rise to a predetermined position at which considerably greater volume of flushing water is made available to handle an increased amount of waste. In this manner, an appreciable economy of water is achieved in a simple and efficient manner. When the control is actuated so that the greater volume of water is made available for flushing, the mechanism is such that after flushing the control automatically resumes its position to admit thereafter the smaller volume of water.

  • Patent number: 3934276
Abstract: This invention provides an improved valve closing means for a refilling valve in flushing cisterns equipped with an overflow and refilling and flushing valves adapted to be opened by a lift stem, said valve closing means being mounted in said overflow and movable to an upper position for opening said valves by means of said lift stem and to a lower position for abrupt closure of the refilling valve by water flowing into the overflow when the cistern is refilled.
