Movable Closure Patents (Class 4/607)
  • Patent number: 4856126
Abstract: A shower partition comprising a door (2) which serves to close or open an entry opening into a shower basin (4) and which is preferably configured as a pivotable wing. The door (2) is advantageously produced in a deep drawing process and has a circumferential recess (26) on its front surface adjacent the outer edges. A preferably tubular frame (28) is associated with the recess and spaced from the front surface of the door (2). The resulting structure has good stability and simultaneously achieves good sealing of the entry opening with a door of low weight. A trough (77) on the back of the door sloping downwardly toward the hinged door edge conveys water running down the rear side of the door back into the shower basin when the door is opened.

  • Patent number: 4807312
Abstract: A partition, more particularly for a corner-shower, with a rounded entrance area, contains door-elements by means of which the entrance-area may be closed off or opened. The door-elements are arranged displaceably in guide-rails which are curved in the entrance area and are connected to at least one wall-element. It should be possible to produce a partition of this kind inexpensively and to obtain reliable guidance and accurate alignment of the door-elements with as few components as possible. The door-elements are curved to match the guide-rails and the guide-elements of each door-element is arranged at a predetermined distance from the longitudinal edges. A total of two door-elements is provided and these are curved over an angular range of approximately 45.degree.. They are adjustable in height by means of at least one guide-element, more particularly an eccentric pin.

  • Patent number: 4785485
Abstract: A sliding panel closure having three panels suspended from a header with three parallel tracks, has a sill disposed under the header with a sill channel opening downwardly and inwardly toward a bath enclosure or the like. A first of the door panels has a lower edge straddling the sill channel. The second and third of the panels have lower edges provided with guide means including outriggers slidable in the sill channel. A C-shaped guide positions the second panel relative to the sill, the outrigger being one of the legs of the C-shape. A E-shaped guide positions the second and third panels relative to one another and relative to the sill channel. The panels preferably have means along their vertical edges that allow the panels to lap but prevent adjacent panels from passing completely by one another.

  • Patent number: 4769862
Abstract: A shower curtain support defines a track for slidably suspending a shower curtain across the front opening of a shower stall and around end corners of the support rearwardly at the front opening. End portions of the shower curtain may be drawn around the corners and inside the shower stall to overlap at least a portion of the surface of the stall end walls in order to prevent leaks. Alternately, a continuous curtain support track is provided in a U-shape or other configuration. Endpieces attached thereto support a curtain in a plane parallel to wall surfaces to prevent spraying or splashing outside the shower area.

  • Patent number: 4653127
Abstract: A shower partition with a horizontal guide rail includes a door assembly displaceable in the guide rail by guide roller mounted on eccentric pins. Each eccentric pin is arranged in a hole provided through the upper edge of the door assembly. In the case of a shower partition of this kind, the purpose to be accomplished is to simplify vertical adjustment of the door assembly at low structural cost, and to ensure that the adjusted position is reliably secured. For this purpose each eccentric pin is slid in an elongated slot of the door assembly through an end opening. Also provided is a connector member having arms which bear upon opposite engagement surfaces of the eccentric pin in order to secure the latter against rotation.

  • Patent number: 4606084
Abstract: A shower partition includes a swinging door pivotable, by means of a hinge, about a substantially vertical axis. The installation dimensions available at the installation site often vary widely, discrepancies of up to 20 cm being by no means unusual. Compensation for tolerances or variations in installation dimensions is made possible in a simple manner. To this end, the swinging door is constructed so that it can be adjusted at right angles to its pivot axis on a jamb member or the like. The swinging door, and/or the pivot hinge comprise, at right angles to the pivot axis, a slot or a series of spaced aligned holes for an attachment element such as a screw.

The magnetic attraction is provided between a magnetic strip at the panel lower edge and another one on the guide wall, both being separated by an air-gap. The door panel includes a frame having enclosing members joined together by corner connectors. The air-gap is provided, at low structural cost, in order to ensure smooth guidance, and this is obtained by means of flat spacing strips formed on the corner connectors, these spacing strips preferably extending over the height of the guide wall associated therewith and/or of the door panel magnetic strip.

  • Patent number: 4520608
Abstract: A structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a sectional rail having, in one of its outer surfaces, an undercut first channel of which the sides form two lateral grooves. Inserted into this channel, is a facing panel, a resilient connecting element being provided for retention and engagement in the grooves. In order to obtain a structural assembly of small depth, together with reliable and rapid attachment, the facing panel is provided with a longitudinal second channel extending in the direction of its longitudinal axis and undercut along the channel sides to form grooves. The connecting element is arranged at least partly in the second groove where it is held by the undercut second grooves. The connecting element has a lateral projection which extends into one of the first grooves of the sectional rail. Projecting into the other groove of the sectional rail is either a shoulder of the facing panel or a second lateral projection of the connecting element.

  • Patent number: 4512045
Abstract: Structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a door support in the form of a profiled rail having, in an outer face thereof, a first channel, of which one side flange forms a groove, and a facing panel mounted in this first channel. The facing panel is held in the first channel by a connecting element fitting in the groove. Existing arrangements of this type are relatively wide, of correspondingly large structural volume, and of high material costs. In order to obtain a structurally simple and inexpensive connection between the facing panel and the profiled rail, it is proposed that the panel be provided with a longitudinal second channel which opens towards the groove of the first channel. The connecting element engages partly in the second channel and partly in the groove.
