Mounting Or Supporting Means For Movable Closure Patents (Class 4/610)
  • Patent number: 4611436
Abstract: A sliding door assembly for bathtubs, shower stalls and the like. The assembly includes at least one door panel, an elongated support rail member, and support mount structure for slidably mounting the door panel to the support rail member. The support mount structure includes an elongated carriage member attached to the door panel and a pair of support rollers mounted to the carriage member and engaging the support rail member. The rollers are free to move lengthwise along the carriage member as the door is open and closed. However, structure is provided to stop the lengthwise motion of the rollers just prior to the door panel reaching a closed position to brake the motion of the door panel as it is moved to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4606084
Abstract: A shower partition includes a swinging door pivotable, by means of a hinge, about a substantially vertical axis. The installation dimensions available at the installation site often vary widely, discrepancies of up to 20 cm being by no means unusual. Compensation for tolerances or variations in installation dimensions is made possible in a simple manner. To this end, the swinging door is constructed so that it can be adjusted at right angles to its pivot axis on a jamb member or the like. The swinging door, and/or the pivot hinge comprise, at right angles to the pivot axis, a slot or a series of spaced aligned holes for an attachment element such as a screw.

  • Patent number: 4606081
Abstract: Partition wall structure, more particularly for bath or shower cubicles, has a displaceable door panel held against, magnetically at right angles to its longitudinal plane, and guided by the guide wall of a guide rail. The magnetic attraction is provided between a magnetic strip at the panel lower edge and another one on the guide wall, both being separated by an air-gap. The door panel includes a frame having enclosing members joined together by corner connectors. The air-gap is provided, at low structural cost, in order to ensure smooth guidance, and this is obtained by means of flat spacing strips formed on the corner connectors, these spacing strips preferably extending over the height of the guide wall associated therewith and/or of the door panel magnetic strip.

  • Patent number: 4564963
Abstract: A screen wall of a shower space comprises a wall section in the form of a screen which is pivoted about its vertical center line. The screen (2) is provided on one side with bow-shaped bars (8) for hanging articles for drying and can be rotated at least 180.degree. about its vertical center line. The flat side of the screen can thus face the shower space when it is used for showering. When articles have been hanged on the bars (8) for drying, the screen can be swung 180.degree. placing the bars and the articles inside the shower space where they can drip and are no longer visible from outside the shower space.

  • Patent number: 4520608
Abstract: A structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a sectional rail having, in one of its outer surfaces, an undercut first channel of which the sides form two lateral grooves. Inserted into this channel, is a facing panel, a resilient connecting element being provided for retention and engagement in the grooves. In order to obtain a structural assembly of small depth, together with reliable and rapid attachment, the facing panel is provided with a longitudinal second channel extending in the direction of its longitudinal axis and undercut along the channel sides to form grooves. The connecting element is arranged at least partly in the second groove where it is held by the undercut second grooves. The connecting element has a lateral projection which extends into one of the first grooves of the sectional rail. Projecting into the other groove of the sectional rail is either a shoulder of the facing panel or a second lateral projection of the connecting element.

  • Patent number: 4512045
Abstract: Structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a door support in the form of a profiled rail having, in an outer face thereof, a first channel, of which one side flange forms a groove, and a facing panel mounted in this first channel. The facing panel is held in the first channel by a connecting element fitting in the groove. Existing arrangements of this type are relatively wide, of correspondingly large structural volume, and of high material costs. In order to obtain a structurally simple and inexpensive connection between the facing panel and the profiled rail, it is proposed that the panel be provided with a longitudinal second channel which opens towards the groove of the first channel. The connecting element engages partly in the second channel and partly in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4385409
Abstract: A shower curtain bender for holding an end portion of a hanging shower curtain in close proximity to a vertical wall placed on one end of the shower enclosure to prevent shower water spray from splashing outside the enclosure from between the hanging shower curtain and the enclosure end walls comprises a pair of pivotal arms containing a series of slots superimposed on the last few attachment holes of the curtain to receive the hanger hooks, one of said arms bends the attached curtain into the shower enclosure and in close proximity to the vertically disposed enclosure end wall. A wedge positioned at the pivot between the two arms enables the curtain to be placed adjacent the compartment end wall without drooping. Additional pivot points enable the shower curtain to be folded neatly to one side or the other of the shower enclosure.
