  • Patent number: 8104111
Abstract: A shower device is proposed that features a fixed-installation housing. This housing can, for example, stand up from the floor and may extend beyond normal human body size. The housing is fitted with a shower arm that can be moved out of an inactive position. In the inactive position, the surface of the shower arm lies flush with the surface of the housing. The jet discharge area of a shower head arranged in the shower arm faces inwards, so that it is only possible to see a flat surface on the exterior of the housing. Through pressure on this surface, a catch mechanism is released and this causes the shower arm to move out of the housing. This is accomplished via a drive mechanism, which may feature a spring, for example. Extension is performed at a relatively slow speed, which can be achieved using a damper device. The shower arm moves to a position in which the now-visible jet discharge disc of the shower head can be used as an overhead shower.

Abstract: A flanged bushing top portion is applied to a sink or counter surface over a mounting hole with a skirt portion descending from the top portion of the flanged bushing in to the mounting hole. A tapered expansion sleeve is threaded into the skirt portion of the flanged bushing. As the tapered expansion sleeve is threaded upwards into the tapered skirt portion, the skirt expands and pressed against the inside diameter of the sink mounting hole thereby securing the flanged bushing to the sink surface. A faucet valve assembly, soap/lotion dispenser, or water dispenser is lowered into the bores of the flanged bushing and the expansion sleeve, and the valve's escutcheon collar is secured to the top of the flanged bushing by means of a lock down collar which is threaded onto the exterior threads of the flange of the flanged bushing. This secures the valve assembly, soap/lotion dispenser, or water dispenser to the flanged bushing and consequently to the sink.

  • Patent number: 6845526
Abstract: A faucet has a spout and a pullout spray head connected to a flexible water supply tube and releasably connectable to the spout. The spout has a docking collar mounted thereon for receiving a connecting shaft of the spray head. The docking collar has an annular wall with a plurality of U-shaped slots which define a plurality of cantilevered snap fingers. Each snap finger includes a projection that fits into a groove in the connecting shaft when the spray head is docked. An elastomeric O-ring surrounds the annular wall at a point where the O-ring engages the snap fingers to bias them toward the groove. Ridges on the exterior surface of the wall retain the O-ring in place. The spout and docked spray head have parallel shoulders that define a mating plane. The projections and groove define a retaining plane. The mating plane is not parallel to the retaining plane such that rotation of the spray head about an axis normal to the mating plane will cause the projections to release from the groove.
