Patent number: 6295748Abstract: In an apparatus for turning over individual sheets assembled to form a stack, preferably for leafing through program tiles of a jukebox, the sheets are arranged to pivot about mutually parallel pivot pins and are provided with projections rising above the pivot pins on which a support engages so that a sheet is turned over to the opposite side. A space-saving design, in which unintentional turning-over of the pages is effectively prevented, is provided in that at least one fixing device and stop device are provided, the fixing device being in contact with the open sheets so that in the turning-over movement of an open sheet it is moved against a force acting on the fixing apparatus, and the stop device being arranged so that the sheets adjoining the open sheets are in contact with the stop device so that their pivoting in the turning-over direction is prevented at least until the projections of the adjacent sheets are in a position of engagement with the support.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: NSM AktiengesellschaftInventors: Wilhelm Menke, Börge Heidersberger

Patent number: 5704146Abstract: A title rack page drive for a jukebox includes a plurality of title pages which are each pivotally mounted to pivot about a horizontal axis and a page drive for turning the pages. The page drive selectively turns an individual one of the pages at a time about the pivot axis of that page by positively engaging a pin on an individual one of the pages and applying a generally arcuate motion to each pin in order to rotate the pages about the axis.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1996Date of Patent: January 6, 1998Assignee: Rowe International, Inc.Inventors: Lloyd D. Patent number: 5367804Abstract: Presented is an indicating register that serves for indicating the content of magazine or the like, and having a simple and space-saving construction. Several pivotably-journaled pages each have a page appendage projecting from their pivot axis and offset relative to one another in the axial direction. A carrier unit is movable transversely to the pivot axes of the pages by means of a drive, and has several followers that are likewise axially offset to one another and additionally have a constant offset in the transport direction, and with movement of the carrier unit come into working engagement, one after the other, with the associated page appendages, and carry pages along until they run up against a previously turned page or against a stop.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1992Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Assignee: Deutsche Wurlitzer GmbHInventors: Hans Domberg, Georg Seidel, Rolf Renner

Patent number: 5068987Abstract: This invention concerns a box (receptacle) for holding and displaying photographs, in the form of a somewhat flattened parallelepiped, inside which one or more tidily stacked photographs of suitable format can fit exactly, and the first of which, starting from the top of the pile, is clearly visible from the outside of the box, in that the lid of the latter possesses a sizeable central window closed by a sheet of transparent material, thus obtaining the optical effect of making said photograph-holding box into a simple photograph frame, without giving any clues that would enable its primary function as a photograph holder to be seen or surmised. The box for holding photographs, according to the invention, is characterized by certain constructional aspects that render both its use and assembly particularly simple.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1987Date of Patent: December 3, 1991Inventor: Sergio Tontarelli

Patent number: 4290217Abstract: A list finder, for example, a telephone index, is provided in which all of the main parts can be integrally moulded of plastic mostly by simple moulds which do not require undercut moulding; the only essential non-plastic parts being a hinge pin pivotally connecting a base and a cover, and a spring. The base has two spaced apart pedestals each of which has laterally spaced upwardly facing and downwardly facing hinge pin seats, with a clear space being provided below the downwardly facing hinge pin seat so that this can be moulded by a unitary mould member which also moulds the underside of the base. The cover includes a planar portion and two downwards projections having a central web and a cylindrically curved flange, the flanges being engageable in T-shaped slots in the sheets of the index. The web member has an upwardly facing hinge pin seat, and an aperture is provided above this seat and the flanges so that these can be moulded by a unitary mould member which also forms the top of the cover.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1979Date of Patent: September 22, 1981Assignee: Swedish Industrial Corporation of Canada Ltd.Inventor: Henry Finkel

Patent number: 4254567Abstract: A card index comprises a housing containing a drawer which holds a stack of punched cards. All the cards have punched holes in which a row of dogs in the bottom of the drawer engage and the cards also have punched selection holes in which selection stop cams can engage. Each card has selection holes in register with all of the stop cams except one. To select a card, a button corresponding to the card is pressed and this rocks a key lever to move the corresponding stop cam downwards. The cam passes through the selection holes in all the cards until it reaches the selected card which has no hole in register with that cam. Accordingly, the selected card and the cards, if any, below are pressed downwards and are held on the dogs. The drawer is released by depression of the button and is opened by a spring. As it opens, the drawer moves the cards which are pressed down on the dogs out of the housing with the selected card on top, but the cards above the selected card are retained in the housing by the stop cam.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1979Date of Patent: March 10, 1981Inventor: Walter Koller

Patent number: 4204352Abstract: In an index selector device of the kind for use with a stack of index cards housed between a base and a lid hinged together and having a selector on the lid to release the lid after moving card-engaging members into engagement with a card so as to raise all the cards in the stack above the one required, the selector is a plurality of push buttons, one to each card-engaging member, arranged in two rows at right angles to the hinge. Interengaging inclined surfaces on each push button and card-engaging member cause lateral sliding movement of the card-engaging member on depression of the push button. A hook on the card-engaging member moves under the edge of the card above the one required and co-operating inclined surfaces on the inner end of the card-engaging device and a central catch bar cause the catch bar to release the lid. A barb on the card-engaging member hooks into a recess on the catch bar to hold the card-engaging member in the card-engaging position while the lid is open.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1978Date of Patent: May 27, 1980Assignee: Laughton & Sons LimitedInventors: Malcolm Laughton, Sidney H. Patent number: 4183161Abstract: An indexing device for storing the information such as telephone numbers and addresses. When one of a plurality of push-buttons with index codes is pressed, some of the numerous cards internally housed are lifted and retained by the cover at the time the cover opens, to show a selected card. The cover has, internally on one side, a projection to engage one side of the card stack when the cover is closed and has on the other side, a card-grip to hold the cards lifted when the button is pressed. The projection supports one side of the cards when the cards are lifted, and it enlarges the lifting amount of the other side (the card-grip side) of the lifted cards.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1978Date of Patent: January 15, 1980Assignee: Carl Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Chuzo Mori
