At least one light guide (6) at least in sections extends between the illumination support (3) and the label holder (5). The light guide (6) is constructed and arranged so that a portion of light emitted by the illumination unit (4) is coupled into and propagates through the light guide (6) to at least partially backlight the label holder (5), whereas the remaining portion of the light emitted by the illumination unit (4) illuminates the shelf board.

A foot pocket is disposed in the rear vertical face above the recess so that a user may insert their foot into the foot pocket and use the foot to push the leg downwardly, thereby releasing the leg from the locking ramp for deploying the leg. The leg hinge structure includes a wedge and a wave washer disposed on a flat surface of the block, for securing one end of the leg. The leg hinge structure pre-loads the leg, with the wedge, creating a pivoting bushing surface for rotating the leg.

When current is fed into the array alternately in both directions, the bicolor bipolar LEDs display a third color, which may be yellow. The display apparatus may be subdivided into multiple independent zones, allowing arrows to be displayed. The single display apparatus can therefore be used to replace the three to five stacked conventional traffic light display units.
