Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing improved lighting components for a lighting element. A lighting element might include a cover. The cover might include a wall having an outer surface and an inner surface. The cover might further include one or more voids located between the outer surface and the inner surface of the wall. The cover and voids may be formed via one or more three-dimensional (“3D”) printing processes.

Abstract: There is provided a lighting display defined to include a base housing a power source compartment. A cylindrical shell extends upwardly from an edge of the base. A plurality of light diodes is electrically connected to the power source and extend from the base. A sheet of material is curved and inserted against an inside surface of the shell. The material is configured to have a flat configuration but is capable of being curved such that when curved and inserted against the inside surface of the shell, the sheet has a tendency to press against the inside surface, attempting to return to the flat configuration. The plurality of light diodes being positioned interior to the sheet of material illuminate the sheet of material when activated.

Abstract: A system for displaying an illuminated image which includes (1) a frame kit with interchangeable components and an assembled electric cord set and (2) a flexible sheet imprinted with an image which combine to make a unit for display of the image as on a table lamp or hanging lamp. The printed sheet is art paper or other media formed into a closed shape defined by the shape of the frame rims to which it is attached at both ends. One of the frame rims includes provision for the attachment of legs which connect the rim to a central hub, which provides support for a lamp holder. A slot is provided in the central hub so the complete electric cord set with the lamp holder attached can be inserted without disassembly. A website is set up whereby institutions or businesses can upload selected images with instructions for formatting for printing on the flexible sheet.

Abstract: An optics panel for use in a light emitting diode (LED) lighting is disclosed. A plurality of LEDs is disposed on a substrate and directed outward therefrom. A substantially transparent substrate is disposed over the plurality of LEDs and configured to direct light from each of the plurality of LEDs of the lighting assembly onto a surface having a predetermined bounded area. Light from each of the LEDs is directed by the transparent substrate across the entire area of the surface so that each LED illuminates substantially the entire surface with a substantially equal level of illumination per LED.

Abstract: A louver panel for an electronic sign incorporating multiple spaced primary and secondary louvers extending outwardly from a configured substantially planar panel to provide direct shading of the structure adjacent to an LED, to the structure of the louver panel including the louvers and the panel, and to provide shading for all or part of an LED. Spacings of the louvers provide for regions of shade which improve contrast and which in transition between panels camouflage horizontal seams.

The navigation aid sign has a first rigid sheet member having an upper surface, a lower surface and a peripheral edge, a second rigid sheet member having an upper surface and a lower surface extending outward from the peripheral edge of the first rigid sheet member at a predetermined angle to a predetermined length, thereby defining an angled collar of the first rigid sheet member sized and configured to redirect light waves emanating from a light source, and a luminescent layer. It is envisioned that an embodiment of the present invention might also include a means for retrofitting existing nautical navigation aids with a photoluminescent element and a light wave re-directing means for improved photoluminescent qualities.

The series of pictures is removable to permit replacement with an alternate series of pictures.

The lampshade is preferably manufactured of a smooth opaque plastic material that is capable of transmitting light efficiently therethrough. Translucent film images are then placed about the periphery of the lampshade and held in place by a clear plastic overlay, a static cling device, or tape. One preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a standard conic sectioned lampshade whereby the geometry of the shade helps to hold the image in place. A second preferred embodiment of the present invention included a lampshade that is substantially cylindrical in shape and employs a bottom ledge in conjunction with the clear plastic overlay to retain the image securely in place.

A frustoconical lampshade formed from a non-translucent material has an opening cut from it to provide a viewing aperture. A first translucent panel having an art motif or other suitable design on it is affixed to the inside of the lampshade and covers the opening. The curvature of the first panel corresponds to the curvature of the lampshade. Additional translucent panels containing artwork complimenting that on the first panel are mounted concentrically within the lampshade at predetermined distances apart from the first panel to create a three dimensional effect. The visor assembly includes a frame, and an "egg-crate" grating mounted in the frame, the grating being composed of a multiplicity of intersecting webs which provide a plurality of rectangular openings. The invention, the grating is locked in the frame to prevent vandalism by plastic strips which receive the ends of the webs, and which are secured to the frame.
