Patent number: 5363579Abstract: The floor advertisement apparatus is used in a cavity formed in the floor of a building. A lower holding layer is located and secured in the bottom of the cavity. An upper holding layer with an opening extending therethrough has a transparent layer secured to one side of the upper holding layer. The transparent layer and the upper holding layer are located in the cavity. An advertising layer is secured to the lower side of the transparent layer within the opening for viewing from above. Both of the holding layers may be magnetic material or one can be magnetic material and the other one of metal attracted by magnetic lines of force for removably holding the upper layer to the lower layer. In another embodiment, the transparent layer has a layer of adhesive material secured to its bottom side for removably securing the transparent layer in the cavity.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1992Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Inventor: George W. Patent number: 5359797Abstract: A ski area trail map holder is provided for use with a ski pole. In one form, the holder comprises a tubular housing having a spring biased roller therein. The housing is attachable to the ski pole at any point along the pole. The ski area trail map is releasably secured to a map cover which is extendable from a retracted position in which it is rolled on the roller, to an extended position in which it is outside of the housing. The map cover comprises two transparent sheets, each of which is attached at one end to the roller and each of which has a free end located outside of the housing. A locking mechanism is provided for securing the map cover and/or map in an extended position. In a second embodiment, the ski pole itself acts as the outer housing for the map holder.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1994Date of Patent: November 1, 1994Inventor: Roger L. Williamson

Patent number: 5358770Abstract: The invention provides a device arranged to be releasably clamped an object, such as a beverage container, and which thereafter provides fop the personal identification of such container. The device includes an arcuate member, which may be made from a flexible, resilient plastic material. The arcuate member has a semi-circular portion and leg portions extending from each end of the semi-circular portion, and also has an enlarged central region for receiving advertising copy as well as for receiving personal identification indicia. The semi-circular portion and the extending leg portions define an opening fop accommodating an object, such as a bottle or can, and are arranged such that when positioned on the outside of the object the device is tightly but releasably clamped to the outside of such object.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1993Date of Patent: October 25, 1994Inventor: Jordan I. Patent number: 5353535Abstract: A cavity is formed in the floor of a building for receiving the floor type advertising apparatus. A lower holding layer of magnetic material having an opening formed therethrough is located and secured in the lower portion of the cavity. An upper holding layer of magnetic material having an opening formed therethrough is attached to the lower side of a transparent layer and both the transparent layer and the upper holding layer are located in the cavity to allow the magnetic lines of force from the holding layers to removably secure the transparent layer and the upper holding layer to the lower holding layer in the cavity. A support layer is secured to the floor of the cavity within the opening of the lower holding layer for supporting an advertising layer.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1992Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Inventor: George W. Patent number: 5347733Abstract: A magnetic name tag has a pole piece panel elongated in one direction and with opposite end portions. One or more magnets assembled with the pole piece panel establish respective separate, complete magnetic flux paths at each of the end portions. A magnetically attractive keep plate elongated in generally complementary relation to the pole piece panel carries indicia thereon. The keep plate is attracted towards the magnet by the magnetic flux paths which effect a stabilized magnetic holding attraction for the keep plate in any assembled orientation of the pole piece and magnet assembly relative to the keep plate.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1992Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Inventor: Richard W. Patent number: 5342665Abstract: A bulletin board is disclosed which employs adhesive strip elements on the front side to provide a simplified and convenient means for repeatedly attaching and removing items such as notes, schedules, coupons, pens or pencils, keys, and the like, without damaging these items and without requiring pins or tacks. Each strip element includes a tacky, adhesive portion which is coated with a non tacky tear strip that protects the adhesive portion prior to use; when the tear strip is removed, the adhesive strip becomes exposed for use. Non tacky indentations are defined between each strip element and facilitate the removal of items from the strips. The rear surface of the bulletin board may be provided with a plurality of sponge adhesives and rubberized magnets which enable the bulletin board to be attached to, easily removed from, and reattached to, various support surfaces for the bulletin board.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1993Date of Patent: August 30, 1994Inventor: Daniel S.
