The drive bushing includes an outer surface engaged with the orbiting scroll and may define an opening extending from a first bushing end to a second bushing end. The spring may include a body disposed within the opening of the drive bushing and may include first and second spring ends with at least a portion of the first spring end extending laterally from the body and overlapping the first bushing end. At least a portion of the second spring end may extend laterally from a body and overlap the second bushing end to secure the spring within the drive bushing. The drive shaft may include a crank pin disposed within the opening of the drive bushing and engaging the spring.

Abstract: A label holder includes a base, a sign sleeve for receiving at least one printed price label and a living hinge coupling the base to the sign sleeve. The sign sleeve is defined by a main panel that is substantially planar and a return flange that is coupled to the main panel at a joined end. Abstract: A price channel marketing expander device is used with a standard price channel construction for expanding the marketing potential therefor, the price channel marketing expander device includes a primary spine section, at least one, but preferably a plurality of secondary anterior marketing channel constructions, a posterior device-to-channel tuck-in construction, and a posterior securing tab. Each secondary anterior marketing channel construction has an upwardly extending secondary anterior channel section. Each secondary anterior channel section and the primary spine section define a secondary matter-receiving channel. The posterior device-to-channel tuck-in construction has a downwardly extending tuck-in section. The tuck-in section and the primary spine section defining a tertiary matter-receiving channel.

Abstract: A label holder and sign holder system for attachment along the front face of a merchandise display shelf. The label holder has a forwardly projecting, downwardly opening sign grip extending along its upper edge for receiving and gripping upper edges of sign cards, which can be positioned along the length of the label holder. A sign holder, which is narrow in relation to the label holder, has a mounting clip at its upper edge which snaps over the sign grip and releasably locks the sign holder to the label holder, while permitting the sign holder to be laterally adjusted along the label holder. The sign holder has a panel extending downward from the mounting clip and carrying a sign clip for displaying a sign at right angles to the label holder. When no sign is displayed, the sign holder can be left in position or moved to an inconspicuous location.

Abstract: A back-loading display hook for the dispensing of products having limited shelf life, where the products are supplied in containers having enlarged tops and narrower necks. Spaced apart support rods, extend forwardly, spaced to accommodate the necks, while suspending the products by their tops. The inner ends of the product rods are spaced apart a greater distance, sufficient to receive the enlarged tops of the products and form a loading position. The products are loaded by moving the tops upward in the loading position, and then sliding them forward onto the narrower portions of the support rods. A stop element is associated with the load position, and is displaceable to allow upward loading of the products onto the support rods, while preventing rearward movement of products back into the load position. Optionally, the display hook may be disposed horizontally, or inclined to cause the products to advance forward by gravity.

The second sign sleeve is defined by a front that extends from the top portion of the main panel and a back that is coupled to the front by the top portion of the main panel. The label holder comprises a front panel, a sign clip, and a mounting structure for securing the label holder to the retail display apparatus. The sign clip includes a leg portion, including a gripping surface, and resiliently biases to secure a sign between the gripping surface and the front panel. In one embodiment, defined in the front panel are two sign engagement projections that interleavingly interact with the gripping surface. The sign clip is integrally connected to the front panel via an integral hinge and pivots relative to the front panel through the integral hinge between a normal state and a biased state. In the normal state, the leg portion of the clip is positioned proximate the front panel. In the biased state, the leg portion is spaced apart from the front panel and holds a secondary sign therebetween.

The main portion has a first gripping member and at least first and second receiving members. The sign or display holding member is attached to the main portion and is arranged to releasably and frictionally hold a sign or display. The detachable portion includes a second gripping member and an engagement member. The breakaway portion detachably attaches the main portion and the detachable portion to one another. The engagement member is arranged to engage one of the first and second receiving members in a manner permitting the first and second gripping members to grip a fixture so as to hold the sign holder to the fixture.

Abstract: An ESL and ESL holder combination includes a locking mechanism for releasably securing the ESL to the ESL holder and an ESL provided with at least one gripping means for cooperative engagement with the ESL holder. A protruding, spring loaded locking element is arranged on the ESL for cooperative engagement with the shelf edge rail. The ESL holder is attachable to the edge of a shelf, the ESL holder being provided with one or more receiving means such as slots for receiving the gripping means and the locking element in cooperative engagement. The spring loaded locking element arranged adjacent to the gripping means and positioned on the ESL such that the spring loaded locking element cannot enter the receiving means on the ESL holder during insertion of the gripping means into the receiving means, and such that it enters the receiving means by spring action when the gripping means is brought into a hooked position, in the receiving means.

The frame includes an upper frame member, a lower frame member spaced apart from the upper frame member, a first side frame member coupling the upper frame member to the lower frame member, and a second side frame member spaced apart from the first side frame member and coupling the upper frame member to the lower frame member. The lower frame member is attached to an underside of the first display shelf with at least one first bracket and the upper frame member is attached to an underside of a second display shelf located directly above the first display shelf with at least one second bracket.

When displaced from its latched position, allowing the gripping means to leave its hooked position, this enables removal of the ESL from the ESL holder.

Abstract: A method of providing a shelf-attached tag holder defining an upwardly-open slot for receiving a main price tag and further having a slip-fit top attachment system; and placing a main price tag into the upwardly-open slot in a visible position. The method also includes temporarily attaching a supplemental information tag by sliding a top edge of the supplemental information tag into the downwardly-open front throat with a folded attachment flange providing positive engagement with the slip-fit top attachment system, with the supplemental information tag being positioned in front of the main price tag. The method also includes, after the step of temporarily attaching, a step of pulling the supplemental information price tag downwardly with sufficient force to overcome the positive engagement of the folded attachment flange to thus remove the supplemental information tag without disturbing the main price tag.

The shopping aid also includes feet for standing the aid upright, on a flat surface, and means for mounting the aid magnetically on a refrigerator wall, in all cases such that retained documents are presented in a convenient reading orientation.

Abstract: An advertising display mounting device is provided for attaching promotional displays to a price channel mounted on the edge of a grocery or other retail store shelf. This mounting device is made from a flat piece of paper stock having score lines for folding. Die cuts that form clips when pushed out from mounting flaps of the device are adapted to mate with the price channel of the shelf. The device, when folded and mounted to the price channel has a center portion that extends outwards from the price channel. A die cut where the center portion meets the center portion causes a gap thereat, which enables the center portion to descend vertically from the price channel.

Abstract: A price-and-information tag includes front and rear surfaces both having product and price information. The tag includes a pre-fold line and a perforated line dividing the sheet into spaced-apart first and second sections. When bi-folded, the first section fits into an upwardly-open pocket of an extruded tag holder, with the second section in front of the tag holder and hiding the first section. Further, the second section can be torn off along the perforated line to reveal the information on the first section with minimal labor. A picture on the tag allows a non-reading installer to place the tag. Methods related to same are also shown, including double folding the elongated sheet and then using the first section to engage a tag holder with only the information on the second section being visible, the second section being later torn off to reveal the information on the first section.

Abstract: A method of printing price information tags and signs includes providing a digital press, a data management system with computer hardware connected for internet access, a database of stored/archived information, and a supply of sheets having a suitable stiffness and surface quality for use as price information tags and signs. Updated information is received electronically via the internet, and combined with selected elements from the stored/archived information to generate customized tag data, which is communicated through a data flow balancer to the digital press(es) to print customized price information tags. The tags are cut to size and include attachment barbs. The customized tag data is arranged to print tags in a series corresponding to product arrangement on particular store shelves. The customized price information tags can be printed and shipped on a just-in-time basis and in a predetermined sequence within at least 24 hours of receiving the real-time digital information.

The support element includes a substantially U-shaped rigid plastic shell which may be adhesively affixed to the upper surface of a shelf to support a shelf divider. The support element includes elongated flexible ridges or beads within a support element channel, the free ends of which are spaced from and face the interior surface that defines the channel. The ridges are compressible to exert a gripping force on the item to be retained. The support element can also be part of a label and sign holder system. Both a single and double-facing support element is provided to interact with a label holder locking strip.

The attachment structure includes a concave portion, preferably U-shaped, that is elastically stretchable or deformable. This allows stretching of the attachment structure to accommodate different depths of the shelf lip.

The shape of the marketing display insert is defined by a base portion that is wider than it is tall, a support portion that extends from the base portion, and a flag portion that extends from the support portion and is cantilevered over and separated from the base portion. For shelf-type display structures, cantilevering a flag above a base portion allows the marketing display insert to be inserted into the top of a price label fixture. For peg hook-type display structures, the space between the base portion and the flag portion allows the base portion to be inserted into a price label fixture from the side. In addition, a score between the flag portion and the support portion allows the flag portion to be bent out of plane from the base portion.

The profile has a rear fastening section on the front edge of the shelf or the like. Abstract: Label holders include a label retention member and an illumination source positioned relative to the label retention member to provide back lighting to one or more labels retained by the label retention member. The label holders hold labels which include information readable by a consumer or other person or computerized device, such as merchandising information and the like. The label holders can be attached to or near a front edge of a shelf, such as a gondola shelf, or can be provided as a stand alone sign or top spanner sign. The illumination source can include a plurality of low voltage bright illumination devices, such as light emitting diodes. When mounted to scanner plates, the label holder can be oriented in different directions.

Abstract: A merchandising shelf label holder, particularly for holding or carrying an electronic shelf label (ESL), with an integral protective mechanism, including a bumper to withstand impacts from shopping carts and the like. The bumper includes a substantially semicircular bulbous section extending in a direction away from the shelving and further away from the shelving than the ESL and that curves back toward the shelving with a vertical plate that is in contact with the shelving or extension thereof. Abstract: An electronic shelf label (ESL) holder, including an attachment member portion to be secured to a supporting surface, such as a C-channel, a holder member with protrusions for removably receiving and supporting the ESLs and, optionally, a cover member pivotally carried by the holder member to overly and protect the ESLs. The holder member includes a lip extending from at least one of the top or bottom fingers of the holder formed of flexible PVC material that is flexible relative to the remaining portion of the holder and is compressible for providing a tight fit of the ESL to the holder. The flexible lip is utilized in combination with a backing member which, in one embodiment, is a flexible PVC bead that extends along the length of the holder and, in a second embodiment, includes a relatively broad or wide pad of flexible PVC material that further provides a seal against the battery or other electronics of the ESL.
