Abstract: A foldable knife having a handle inlay through which the knife blade can be viewed may include a knife handle having an interior handle liner and at least one outer handle portion on the handle liner. At least one knife handle inlay may be provided in the knife handle. The knife handle inlay may include a walled or ridged inlay structure which extends from the handle liner and has a selected size and shape. An inlay window may extend through the outer handle portion. The inlay window may generally correspond to a size and shape of the inlay structure and the inlay structure extends through the inlay window.

Abstract: A display ad system for door handles may include electronics that provide multisensory stimuli. In one embodiment, an end cap includes light and sound triggered by a motion detector. In another embodiment, an end cap includes fan-directed aromas triggered by a motion detector. In a third embodiment, a flexible grid of LED lights backlights the display ad in any time sequence desired, and may be motion-triggered as well. A door handle embodiment may also provide a note board surface as an alternative to showing display ads.

Abstract: An apparatus for identifying a particular baby stroller in a crowd of parked strollers. The apparatus has at least one distinctive ornament for providing immediate recognition coupled to a band for attaching to a handle of a particular stroller in a visible position. The ornament has shiny trim for reflecting light, improving visibility. The ornament selectively couples to the band, allowing a first ornament to be exchanged with another ornament to selectively coordinate with a user's clothing. A plurality of apparatuses can be attached to the stroller to further ease immediate recognition of the particular stroller.

The removable faceplate may be transparent or translucent and may also include design features. The faceplate may provide protection to a user inscription surface on one of the surfaces of the handle which is may be configured to receive user indicia that may later be removed and further indicia provided.

The housing member includes a photoluminescent portion for being energized by exposure to an ambient light source and operable to automatically emit visible light photoluminescently for a substantial period of time in low ambient light or dark conditions and without being energized by an electrical current so that the photoluminescent portion provides illumination to identify the exit device in the low ambient light or dark conditions for providing a visual cue directing a person to a location of the exit device.

Abstract: A device for displaying advertising from a turnstile arm includes opposing collars securing a sleeve displaying the advertising. One collar is frictionally secured to the arm using an O-ring carried in a groove within an inside wall surface of an opening through which the arm passes. A flange extending fully around the outside surface of the collar provides a snap-fit into a groove within one end of the sleeve. The outside surfaces of the collars make a smooth transition to the connected sleeve. A second collar includes a clamp is carried within its opening securing the second collar to the turnstile arm. Two recessed portions have a bore extending through the second collar through which fasteners extend for adjusting the clamping. A notch extending around the second collar receives the sleeve.

A protective front facing planar member is located at a front face of the door handle and a graphic display is positioned behind the protective front facing planar member. The graphic display is visible through the protective front facing planar member by a person upon approach to the door handle.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for providing a door handle adapted to receive interchangeable display inserts. The door handle includes a handle body adapted to be coupled to a door of an enclosure. A receiving space is provided within the handle body for exchangeably receiving a display insert. A releasable closure mechanism is associated with the receiving space and adapted to be configured between an open configuration in which display inserts may be inserted and removed from the receiving space and a closed configuration in which a display insert is secured within the receiving space. The display insert has at least two substantially planar members that are associated together to fill the receiving space so that they are held substantially stationary when installed therein. A protective front facing planar member is located at a front face of the door handle and a graphic display containing intermediate planar member is positioned behind the protective front facing planar member.

Abstract: An alarm light integrated into the top of the handle of a portable patient monitor or other portable medical diagnostic instrument. Since the top of the handle is the highest point of the monitor, the alarm light can be clearly seen from the sides, top and back of the monitor. Because the alarm light is integrated into the handle structure, it can be easily moved with the monitor and cannot be accidentally disconnected. In addition, the structure of the handle protects the alarm light from damage during transport. The alarm light assembly includes a circuit board which supports at least one light-emitting diode and a connector for supplying electrical power to the light-emitting diode(s), and a light-transmitting plastic lens which supports the circuit board. When activated, the light-emitting diodes are visible through the lens.

Abstract: A grip for displaying information on sports equipment having a gripping end includes a bottom layer overlaying the gripping end, an intermediate layer having textual information or a design placed thereon, and a substantially transparent top layer overlaying the intermediate and bottom layers. The intermediate layer faces outwardly from the bottom layer such that the information is visible, and is protected from damage by the top layer. Integral rib and groove structures may be used to assist in securing the top and bottom layers to one another. A weighted end cap may assist in providing a balanced feel to the equipment.

Abstract: An information display device adapted to be mounted on the safety bar of a ski-lift chair. The device has a tubular base which is rigidly attached to the safety bar. A tubular carrier is rotatabley secured to the tubular base. This tubular carrier provides a cylindrical support surface for information to be displayed. A tubular cover is mounted about the carrier and fixed to the tubular base to protect the tubular carrier and the information attached to it.

Abstract: A chair control actuator, such as a chair control paddle, is provided with a surface relief. The surface relief depicts a chair in two different positions illustrative of different chair positions which may result from use of said actuator. The surface relief has solid relief areas depicting a first of the two positions and outline relief areas depicting a second of the two positions.

Abstract: The present invention includes a system for and a method of providing a handle cover which is used to solicit contributions for charitable organizations. The handle cover includes a tubular body formed from a flexible material, a horizontal slit along one side of the tubular body along a length of the tubular body, a notch cut in one end of the tubular body and an indicia which allows a portion of the proceeds of the sale to be directed to the charitable organization.
