A flexible wall section contains displayed information, can be mechanically inflated and deflated, and can form three dimensional images. The device may be attached to any shaft-like object, including a writing instrument that is capable of use for writing. The flexible wall section is removable so that other information may be displayed on the device.

Abstract: In a process of molding and assembling a three-dimensional ornament, a mold having a recess in which is formed an opening is provided. A molding pattern is located inside the opening. A first material fills in the molding pattern to form a plurality of protruded decoration patterns. Then, a second material is charged in the opening and the recess of the mold over the first material to respectively form a projection and a contact wall which together form an embossment. The embossment then is removed from the mold. The embossment then is mounted inside a hollow pen tube in a manner that the projection fits in a sidewall opening of the pen tube and the protruded decoration patterns protrude from the sidewall opening. A sleeve is inserted in the hollow pen tube to urge the contact wall of the embossment against the wall of the hollow pen tube.

Abstract: A pen having a 3-dimensional pattern has at least one flexible strip. The flexible strip is sandwiched between a pattern ring and a liner ring with the 3-dimensional pattern partially protruding out of the pattern ring from a corresponding through hole. The liner ring abuts a bottom end of a connecting ring. The connecting ring is formed with an annular flange on its outer surface. The pattern ring abuts the annular flange to enclose the liner ring. A top end of the connecting ring is clamped onto a barrel of the pen, and a bottom end of the liner ring is threadingly connected to a tip of the pen.

Abstract: A ring assembly for a pen has a bottom ring, a top ring, and a slender bridge connecting the bottom ring and the top ring. In assembly, a barrel of the pen extends through the bottom ring and the top ring, so that a sticker adhered around the barrel is securely attached to the barrel by clamping of the top ring and the bottom ring. Furthermore, a gap formed by two conjunct sides of the sticker is concealed by the bridge. By such arrangement, the ring assembly is able to be decorative and to avoid peeling of the sticker from the barrel after long-term use.

Abstract: A pen having a 3-dimensional pattern thereon is disclosed. There is a aperture defined in a sidewall of the barrel or pen cap of the pen. A flexible strip having a 3-dimensional pattern thereon is suitably deformed and placed inside the barrel or pen cap whereby the 3-dimensional pattern of the flexible strip protrudes through the aperture. A liner ring is further plugged into the barrel or the pen cap so that the flexible strip is securely clamped between the barrel or pen cap and the liner ring. Consequently, the 3-dimensional pattern is securely fixed on the pen.

Abstract: Writing instruments are provided with thermochromic liquid crystal coatings which may be covered by acrylic polymer coatings. The underlying coatings are protected by an outer protective barrier lacquer coating.

Abstract: The combination of a writing instrument such as a ballpoint pen having a pushbutton at the upper end and an advertising device wherein the advertising device is supported on a sleeve preferably in a freely rotatable manner with the pushbutton being received within the sleeve and secured thereto so as to position the advertising device upwardly from the pen upper end whereby the advertising device is readily viewable by an observer, a depression of the advertising device thereby producing a concomitant depression of the pushbutton to extend and retract the writing tip of the pen.

Abstract: An assembly for removably accommodating an image medium including a generally cylindrical element and a transparent sleeve removably disposable over the cylindrical element. The transparent sleeve has an opening at one end for receiving the element and has an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the element for defining a chamber to accommodate the image medium. There is also a device for removably securing the sleeve with the cylindrical element.
