Abstract: An indication box used with an electronic smart lock indicates if a public service room is in use. A color plate partially shown in a window moves vertically up and down with door handle motion. Unlike other indicators, the door handle and not lock actives use indication to avoid mishaps from forgetting to lock the door. The color plate is spring loaded with a V-shaped bottom. The color plate vertically moves by a cam having two L-shaped portions forming a V-shaped recess to initially secure the color plate's V-shaped bottom. Cam activation is through a dial head that moves with the door handle. When the color plate indicates use, the V-Shaped bottom rests on one of the cam's L-shaped portions. The color plate may also include braille markings. The indication box is used on a door's front portion with any electronic smart lock design and operates without electrical power.

Abstract: A reversible door lock having a status indicator is provided. The door lock may include an escutcheon plate having a window through which the status of the door on a status indicator ring may be view. When the door is locked and unlocked via an actuator (e.g., a thumbturn) the door status indicator ring may change positions. The lock may include a drive wheel operatively coupled to the actuator and the status indicator ring. The drive wheel may be capable of moving between a first orientation and a second orientation relative to the status indicator ring such that the door lock operates in a first direction (e.g., a right-hand direction) when the drive wheel is in the first orientation and in a second direction (e.g., a left-hand direction) when the drive wheel is in the second orientation.

Abstract: A status indicator for a locking mechanism may include a status indicator face, a status indicator plate, a cam coupling, and a locking mechanism coupler. The status indicator face and status indicator plate may be at least partially moveable relative to one another. The locking mechanism coupler may have a greater rotational range of motion than the cam coupling. The status indicator face may indicate the state of a locking mechanism and may have a viewing angle greater than or equal to 180 degrees.

Abstract: A refuse container having an indicator assembly for informing a waste generator of contamination in a waste stream. A refuse container includes a container body comprising a receptacle portion and a lid coupled with the receptacle portion. The receptacle portion includes a plurality of walls that together define an enclosed space for containing refuse. An indicator device is coupled with the container body. The indicator device is movable relative to the container body between a first position and a second position. First indicia is provided on one of the indicator device or the container body. When the indicator device is in the first position, the first indicia are visible from the exterior of the refuse container, and when the indicator device is in the second position, the first indicia are not visible from the exterior of the refuse container.

Abstract: A tamper-resistant indicator is disclosed. The indicator includes a front panel configured to be located on an outside surface of a door. The indicator also includes a back panel configured to be located on an inside surface of the door. The indicator also includes a turning indicator, including a springy living hinge, wherein said turning indicator has a front part disposed on the front panel and a back part disposed on the back panel, and the two parts communicate with each other via a rotatable axis or shaft member configured to pass through an opening bored through the door, and wherein the axis or shaft member is coupled between the front and back parts of the indicator, such that rotation of the back part of the indicator rotates the axis or shaft member, which in turn rotates the front part of the indicator.

Abstract: The display panel has an outer surface to which a sign may be attached and an inner surface having a fastener composed of resiliently deformable material. An end of the fastener is separated from the display panel by a slit which is adapted to receive an outer plate of a conventional door handle The outer plate is held in the slit by the resiliently deformable composition of the fastener. The plate may however be removed from the slit by the application of a force opposed to the bias of the resilient material in order to widen the slit.

Abstract: A display apparatus for use by a worker in a workplace environment to visually communicate to coworkers, among other things, the current location or whereabouts of the worker and the worker's expected time of return to an office or other workspace. Cards carried by a spiral member of the apparatus include alphanumeric and/or pictorial information to quickly indicate a location within the workplace. A clock face having manually adjustable hands indicates an expected return time. One embodiment incorporates a triangular geometry geared for support on a desktop. Additional embodiments are configured for positioning over an office partition wall, as well as against an office door panel, window and the like.

Abstract: A sign for workplaces and a method for its use. The preferred embodiment comprises a rectangular board retained by extendable brackets on the wall of a cubicle or the door of an office. Alternatively, the board may be retained on a wall, door or other surface by strips of hook and loop fasteners, glue, nails, screws, or any other suitable means. The board preferably has three sections or windows. The top and middle sections have front slots for retaining a choice of several rectangular message cards that can be slid in or out of the slots. The bottom section is an erasable white board on which messages can be written. Unused message cards may be stored in rear slots in each section, where they can be identified by their tabs that extend beyond a side of the board. Indicia may be included on the board such as trademarks or names.

Abstract: A label comprises an upper surface, a lower surface having an adhesive layer thereon to permit adherence of the label to a surface, and a handle portion. The handle has thereon a substantially centrally located pull tab and a series of cuts which permit unfolding of the handle portion into a hanging strip. The cuts are arranged such that the handle portion unfolds along the cuts when the pull tab is pulled. The handle portion has a deadening layer on the adhesive layer thereof.

Abstract: A door sign device includes an actuator mounted on the inner door surface of a door that has inner and outer door surfaces so that a user can move the actuator between first and second actuator positions, and a follower mounted on the outer door surface so that the follower can be move between first and second follower positions that each correspond to a respective one of the first and second actuator positions. Coupling components are included for coupling the actuator to the follower magnetically so that the follower follows actuator movement, and indicator components responsive to the follower being in the first follower position indicate that a predetermined sign applies.

Abstract: A multi-picture puzzle comprises a plurality of cubes. A portion of a picture is carried on each side of the cube. Each cube has a spherical chamber therein. A ball is freely movable within the chamber and forms a magnetic relationship with a tray upon which each of the cubes is placed thus removably securing the cubes in place. Such cubes may be used as status indicators for indicating the existence of one of a plurality of conditions.
