  • Patent number: 10201988
Abstract: A tape cassette includes a box-like housing, a tape mounted within the housing, a hole and a first indicator portion. The housing includes a top wall having a top surface, a bottom wall having a bottom surface and opposing the top wall, and a front wall having a specified height and being formed along peripheries of the top wall and the bottom wall. The hole is provided in the front wall. The first indicator portion includes at least one first aperture and indicates a first element among a plurality of elements of a type of the tape. The first indicator portion is provided in a portion, spaced from the front wall, of the bottom wall. The hole and the one first aperture is located to intersect a virtual line orthogonal to the front wall when viewing along a vertical direction orthogonal to the top wall and the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 10161861
Abstract: A compact device useful for measuring an absorption spectrum of a liquid, such as water with organic contaminants, is provided. The device comprises an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) each emitting light with a unique spectral peak. A reflector shaped as a half ellipsoid reflects the emitted light to form a reference beam. The reflector has an opening to allow part of the emitted light to form a measurement beam after passing through the liquid. Two photodetectors measure the reference beam and the measurement beam to give a reference intensity and a measured intensity, respectively. The LEDs sequentially emit showers of light one-by-one, giving plural pairs of reference and measured intensities for estimating the absorption spectrum. The device receives energy from a separate power-providing device through wireless power transfer. The power-providing device harvests motional energy of the flowing liquid to generate electrical energy.

  • Patent number: 10122394
Abstract: An attachment structure for an electronic component accommodation box including a vibration proof structure includes a damping structure between a vehicle body side attachment member and a casing in which at least one electronic component is mounted. The damping structure includes first sliding portions, second sliding portions, and damping members interposed between the first sliding portions and the second sliding portions. The damping members generate sliding resistance between each of the first sliding portions and each of the second sliding portions when the casing moves relative to the vehicle body side attachment member.

  • Patent number: 9441729
Abstract: A gear change actuator (40) including first and second rotary members (54) each rotatable in opposite first and second directions, the rotary members (54) engaged with a select unit (60), which is engaged with an output member (162) having an output axis. The select unit (60) has opposite first and second input motions, and opposite third and fourth input motions, induced by simultaneous rotation of the first and second rotary members (54. The select unit (60) has opposite first and second output movements that are transmutations of the select unit (60) first and second input motions, respectively. The select unit (60) also has opposite third and fourth output movements that are transmutations of the select unit third and fourth input motions, respectively. The output member (162) has movements, respectively imparted by the select unit (60) output movements, that are one of rotationally about the output axis and axially along the output axis.

  • Patent number: 9193188
Abstract: The platen gap adjustment mechanism 70 of a printer 1 adjusts a gap between a printhead 59 and a platen 25 by moving first and second guide rails 57, 58 that support the head carriage 59 in a gap adjustment direction relative to the platen 25. A rotary mechanism for synchronously rotating the first and second guide rails 57, 58 to adjust the gap has a rotary shaft 101 perpendicular to the first and second guide rails 57, 58; first and second drive-side gears (e.g. worms) 104, 105 disposed coaxially to the rotary shaft 101; a first driven-side gear (e.g. worm wheel) 106 disposed coaxially to the first guide rail 57 and meshing with the first drive-side gear 104; and a second driven-side gear (e.g. worm wheel) 107 disposed coaxially to the second guide rail 58 and meshing with the second drive-side gear 105.

  • Patent number: 6612762
Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide an economical printer which is simple in structure and uses a common tray but is capable of adapting itself to various recording media of different shapes. Adapters in which recording media can be firmly held can be selectively mounted in the tray. An adapter 24 has an oval opening 24a in which a recording medium 30 can be placed. The contour of the adapter 24 can fit into a recessed portion 23a formed in the tray 23. The recording medium 30 is firmly held in the adapter 24. When the adapter 24 is mounted in the recessed portion 23a in the tray 23, a keyway 23b and a protrusion 24b engaging the keyway 23b prevent the adapter 24 from shifting out of position; the adapter is held in the tray 23. Prints can be made in accurate positions on the recording medium 30.
