Abstract: A printwheel setting mechanism suitable for automatic daters or other printwheel units comprises a verge drive for each printwheel and a solenoid travelling on a carriage which is selectively positionable actuating any one of the verge drives. The verge drive includes a verge which oscillates to advance a starwheel as the solenoid is actuated and deactuated. A pin wheel fixed for rotation with the starwheel engages slots on the printwheel for advancing it.
Abstract: A printer having a plurality of type belts and capable of printing in two colors by a rolling contact system is disclosed. The printer prevent mixing of colors of printed characters by lifting up and down a print paper for printing the characters at different positions on a platen by the different color type belts.
Abstract: A serial printer having a carriage adapted to be shifted in the direction perpendicular to the direction of feed of a printing paper, hammer means opposing to the carriage across the thickness of the printing paper and adapted to be shifted as a unit with the carriage, a type wheel group slidable over a predetermined stroke within the carriage in the direction of shift of the carriage, and shift means for shifting the carriage and the type wheel group in the above-mentioned direction. The serial printer is small-sized and has a compact construction suitable for use in desk-top calculators or the like instruments.
