Abstract: Provided is a recording apparatus including: a holding tray which is inserted in a transportation path facing a recording head, and is capable of holding a recording medium on a front surface thereof, the holding tray having a plane area used to horizontally hold the recording medium and a sloped area provided in a rear end in a transportation direction and inclined toward a rear surface thereof as it becomes closer to a rear edge; a driving roller which comes into contact with the rear surface of the holding tray; a driven roller which comes into contact with the front surface of the holding tray and pinches the holding tray between the driving roller and the driven roller; and a control device which controls the driving roller in response to the case of transporting the plane area of the holding tray and the case of transporting the sloped area thereof.

Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a platen that guides a sheet, restraining members disposed on the platen at respective side edges of the sheet to restrain the side edges of the sheet from being raised, a sheet width detector that detects the width of the sheet, and a restraining member detector that detects the positions of the restraining members. At least one of the restraining members is moved in accordance with the information obtained by the sheet width detector regarding the positions of the side edges of the sheet and the information obtained by the restraining position detector regarding the positions of the restraining members.

Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a recording head, a holding tray on which a first recording material is set and which is configured to be advanced and retracted in a linear path between a first position wherein it opposes the recording head and a second position wherein it is retracted from the first position, a reverse transporting portion for transporting a second recording material which is set under the second position while reversing the second recording material in a U shape, and a path forming member for guiding the reversed, another recording material to the linear path after the recording material is bypassed above the second position.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus that can be connected to an image-forming apparatus, a method, and a program used for the information processing apparatus are disclosed. The information processing apparatus comprises a control unit for controlling print-setting information set for document data to be printed, a recognition unit for recognizing information about a first function specified by the print-setting information by translating the print-setting information controlled by the control unit, an obtaining unit for obtaining information about a second function of the image-forming apparatus connected to the information processing apparatus, a determination unit for determining whether or not the image-forming apparatus can perform the first function recognized by the recognition unit based on the second-function information obtained by the obtaining unit, and a modification unit for modifying the print-setting information controlled by the control unit based on the determination result.
