Via Feed Throat Having Gate (e.g., Actuated By Power, Etc.) Patents (Class 400/600)
  • Patent number: 8029203
Abstract: A printing device provided with a conveyer roller pair for holding sheet paper drawn out from a recording paper roll to feed the sheet paper forward or backward. The device includes a feeding roller pair disposed between the recording paper roll and the conveyer roller pair for drawing out the recording paper and feeding it to the conveyer roller pair and a color recording unit disposed downstream of the conveyer roller pair in the direction of conveyance of the recording paper for recording a color image on the recording paper that is being moved backward. A guide unit with pivotable guide member is disposed between the feeding roller pair and the conveyer roller pair for bending and guides the recording paper in an arc-shape at an acute angle. A reservation space is provided outside of the arc-shaped recording paper guiding path for accommodating the sagged recording paper therein.

  • Patent number: 6851879
Abstract: In an image-recording device of the present invention, driving force of a motor for driving is transmitted to two idle gears, which are the same shape and are disposed at positions of linear symmetry with respect to a center line C. Driving force is transmitted by way of the idle gears to power-input gears which are fixed coaxially with a supply gear and an ejection gear, respectively. That is, a supply side driving force transmission system, ranging from the motor to the supply gear, and a discharge side driving force transmission system, ranging from the motor to the ejection gear, have the same structure. Therefore, a recording sheet will be stably conveyed at the same conveyance speed throughout an image recording region, and high quality image recording can be carried out reliably. Thus, conveyance amounts can be kept consistent in the image recording region, even without using special apparatus, and high quality images can be recorded at low cost.

  • Patent number: 6644875
Abstract: Before stopper members (25) of a skew correcting mechanism (10) are evacuated from a sheet conveyor path, sheet conveyor roller pairs (8) rotate a set angle in a direction opposite to the sheet feeding direction such that a sheet is separated from the stopper members (25). The sheet conveyor roller pairs (8) are arranged so that at least one of the rollers of each pair is independently pressed against the other with a force corresponding to the type of the sheet.

  • Patent number: 6602008
Abstract: A print-medium transport unit including discharge rollers, a paper guide, and a lock member. The discharge rollers transport post-printed paper toward an outlet and can hold the leading end of the paper. The paper guide is placed upstream from the discharge rollers, and guides the leading end of the paper into the discharge rollers. The paper guide is rotatably supported so that the upstream side thereof opens a transport path of the paper, whereby when the leading end of the paper is held by the discharge rollers, the transport path allows the paper to be curved like a loop. The lock member locks the rotation of the paper guide when the leading end of the paper is guided into the paper guide. When the leading end of the paper reaches a predetermined position, the locking of the lock member is released.

  • Patent number: 5973623
Abstract: A fingertip-operated solid state capacitance switch detects a capacity change that is induced by the physical contact of an ungrounded fingertip to an external dielectric surface of the solid state switch. The input and output of a solid state signal-inverting amplifier are respectively connected to two relatively large and ungrounded capacitor plates that are associated with, but electrically isolated from, the switch's external dielectric surface. An ungrounded fingertip forms a third capacitor plate on the switch's external surface. The solid state amplifier detects the presence of a fingertip on the switch's external surface by way of a change in capacitance within a compound, three plate, capacitor that includes the two ungrounded capacitor plates and the ungrounded fingertip that is resident on the switch's external surface.

  • Patent number: 5738456
Abstract: A printer device for performing printing by a thermal head using a color ink ribbon cassette 60, in which the device may be reduced in size. A sheet guide plate 2 is mounted on a lid 1 that can be opened and closed. When a printing sheet P is moved back and forth for multi-color printing, the sheet P is moved within the range of the lid 1 below the sheet guide plate 2. During non-use time, the lid 1 is closed, whereby the device becomes smaller in size than the range of movement of the printing sheet P.

  • Patent number: 5489160
Abstract: Described herein is a print medium support mechanism for supporting a print medium such as paper in a print zone adjacent a printer's printhead. The print medium support mechanism includes at least one drive roller positioned upstream from the print zone of the printer to feed paper into the print zone. An upper print media guide is positioned adjacent the drive roller between the drive roller and the print zone to contact and support the paper from above. A lower print media guide is mounted downstream from the upper print media guide to pivot between retracted and non-retracted positions relative to the print zone. When in its non-retracted position, the lower print media guide contacts and supports the paper from below. The support of the upper and lower print media guides against opposite sides of the paper is primarily responsible for establishing the shape and angle of the paper as it passes through the print zone.
