Plural Keys Or Key Linkages (e.g., For Type-face Selection, Etc.) Patents (Class 400/666)
  • Patent number: 9077126
Abstract: A multi-port or multi-outlet cassette that may be configured as a low profile, high-density cassette. Selected embodiments include a bezel member having a projection positioned between each adjacent pair of outlets to help reduce crosstalk. A releasable latch mechanism may be included that is configured to selectively latch and unlatch the cassette to a patch panel. Embodiments configured for use with fiber optic cables may include a movable connector member. A cable connector may be mounted to the movable connector member to move therewith as a unit. Moving the movable connector member determines an angle of the cable connector relative to the panel. Angles may be selected to reduce stress on a cable connected to the cable connector. In particular, it may be desirable to position the cable connector such that it is orthogonal to the panel.

  • Patent number: 6747578
Abstract: An integrated removable functional faceplate for a portable computer system. The removable functional faceplate employs specially located electrical contacts or pads that mate with similarly located electrical contacts mounted on the portable computer system, e.g., a personal digital assistant (PDA) or other electronic device. The electrical contacts of the functional faceplate carry signals that are responsive to the pressing of physical buttons which may be placed in any location on the functional faceplate. This allows individual faceplates to be developed that are specialized for a particular purpose, e.g., extended keyboards, adapted for gaming, adapted for music playing, etc. The functional faceplates may have specialized button types that are adapted for a particular use and are also located in custom positions that reflect the particular use employed. When the functional faceplate is removed from the portable computer system, it may have no buttons or it may provide a standard PDA button group.

  • Patent number: 4283150
Abstract: An electric typewriter having a prevention mechanism for preventing printing errors caused by a depression of a few keys in very rapid succession. The prevention mechanism includes a lock member for locking a clutch, which is interposed between a drive motor and a printing mechanism, in a disengaged condition. The lock member is normally held in a non-operational position for allowing the clutch to be engaged, and is moved in response to a special operation of a sensing member to an operational position for keeping the clutch in a disengaged condition. The sensing member is so disposed as to be moved in a distinct way different from the normal operation mode when a few keys have been depressed in very rapid succession.

  • Patent number: 4128382
Abstract: A keyboard of a typewriter comprises a common actuator biased by a spring. The depression of a key causes a corresponding intermediate member to engage with the actuator to initiate an operating cycle and to move the intermediate member to a position which causes selection of an operation corresponding to the key which has been depressed. The engagement of the common actuator with more than one intermediate member consequent upon depression of more than one key causes the common actuator to move under the spring bias at a substantially reduced speed and a locking mechanism to lock selected operations. A reloading mechanism is responsive to the speed of the actuator for unlocking the locking mechanism and restoring the actuator and the intermediate member when the reduced speed is sensed.
