Abstract: A method of applying a medicament using a disposable swab applicator formed of a swab and a housing including a reservoir member and an adjustable sleeve member is provided. The reservoir member has a channel formed therein for receiving and storing the medicament with the adjustable inner sleeve member also being disposed within the channel. The inner sleeve member has an open first end which receives the swab and a closed second end with one or more windows formed between the first and second ends. In a first position within the reservoir member, the closed second end of the inner sleeve member forms a seal with the reservoir member to effectively store the medicament in the reservoir member. Movement of the inner sleeve member from the first position to a second position causes the medicament to flow through the one or more windows into contact with the swab resulting in the swab being ready for use.

Abstract: An applicator kit, for dental purposes. has an application element with a grip area for handling, and also has a shaft, on a tip of which is disposed an application member, preferably in the form of a micro-brush that is provided with a reaction substance. A cup shaped sealing mechanism surrounds the shaft and the application member. The cup shaped sealing mechanism is slidably received within a housing which also receives a low velocity fluid initially spaced away from the cup-shaped sealing mechanism. The reaction substance on the application member is activated by pressing the sealing mechanism and application member into the fluid within the housing which causes the fluid to wet the application member.

Abstract: A device for applying at least one product comprising at least one receptacle configured to contain a product and a removable unit defining a substantially enclosed space. The removable unit may be configured to be removably positioned on the at least one receptacle. The device further may comprise at least one application element configured to be housed within the substantially enclosed space defined by the removable unit when the application element is not in use for applying product and may be configured to be loaded with product from the receptacle when the removable unit is positioned on the receptacle. The application element also may comprise at least one surface configured to apply the loaded product, the at least one surface facing the receptacle when the removable unit is positioned on the receptacle during loading of the application element with the product.

Abstract: A swab dispenser comprising a bin adapted to store swabs, a fluid reservoir, and optionally, a cover. The bin may be compartmentalized. The reservoir ceiling has a depression in its outer surface, an aperture at the low point of the depression, and is optionally removable for cleaning and filling. A membrane covers the aperture. The membrane has an opening that is at least two intersecting slits or a circular hole that allows a swab to be inserted into the reservoir by temporarily deforming the membrane. Preferably, the floor of the reservoir is concave with the low point directly below the aperture. Alternatively, the bin and reservoir are separable so one may be replaced without having to discard the other.

Abstract: A device for dispensing and applying a product includes a container including a reservoir for containing a product, and a dispensing member for dispensing the product. The dispensing member includes an actuating element and at least one outlet. The actuating element is configured to be actuated to enable delivery of the product through the at least one outlet. The device further includes a cap configured to fit removably on the container. The cap comprises an applicator preferably including porous material. The applicator is substantially sealed from outside of the device when the cap is on the container. Placement of the cap on the container positions the applicator with respect to the at least one outlet so that at least a portion of the applicator is placed in contact with the product delivered through the at least one outlet when the actuating element is actuated. Preferably, the product at least partially impregnates the applicator when the product contacts the applicator.

Abstract: A brush and bottle combination is disclosed in which the bottle has a blind recessed area formed in its peripheral surface and a shoulder projecting outwardly into the blind recessed area. This shoulder is formed integrally with the body of the bottle and has notches provided in its supporting legs. The brush has a main body portion and depending opposed legs which are integral with and depend from side edges of the body. These legs terminate in inwardly directed ribs which are engageable with the recesses in the legs of the shoulder member so that the brush can be snapped into place on the body within the recess, or substantially within the recess, so that the outer surface of the brush body and the peripheral surface of the container are substantially flush when the brush is connected thereto.

Abstract: A cosmetic case comprises a body having a hollow portion formed at an upper portion thereof for containing a certain amount of cosmetic material and a brush storage hole formed inwardly at a lower portion thereof for storing a brush; a cover hinged at one side on the upper portion of the body to open and shut the body, the cover having a transparent window located at the center thereof for displaying the inside of the body containing the cosmetic material and a grip insertion groove formed at the other side of the cover opposed to the hinged portion; and a brush having a protective cap for wrapping and protecting a hair part and a grip part, the protective cap moving back and forth wrapping the hair part and the grip part, the brush being stored in the brush storage hole of the body and collapsed at a portion thereof, the collapsed end of the brush being forcedly inserted into the grip insertion groove of the cover to couple the cover and the body.

Abstract: A liquid dispenser and applicator is provided having a reservoir for holding a liquid such as a liquid foundation and having a spout through which the liquid may be dispensed. An applicator is attached to the reservoir and is detachable therefrom. The liquid maybe dispensed through the spout onto the applicator for application to a user's skin. The applicator slides into a track provided on the reservoir and is held in the track by a friction fit. A pump may be provided on the reservoir for dispensing the liquid foundation. The user may pump liquid foundation onto the applicator and remove the applicator from the reservoir and apply the liquid foundation onto the user's skin using the applicator. A lid attachable to the reservoir and enclosing the pump and applicator protects the applicator from dirt and other substances and allows the dispenser and applicator to become portable in a handbag or purse.

Abstract: A lotion applicator that has a hollow handle for containing lotion. The hollow handle has a closable opening and flexible walls such that the squeezing of the walls forces lotion contained within the hollow handle to exit the closable opening. A casing is attached to the handle and covers the closable opening. A casing cap is removably attached to the casing such that a storage compartment is formed by the attachment of the casing cap to the casing. A porous pad is contained within the storage compartment and is for absorbing lotion squeezed out of the handle. Some purposes of the casing cap are to delay drying of the pad, protect the pad from contamination, and prevent lotion on the pad from contaminating other objects. In a preferred embodiment, the user first removes the casing cap from the casing. Then, the user removes the handle from the casing. The user then opens the closable opening and squeezes the handle so that lotion exits the handle and is applied to the pad.

A closing element seals the outer sleeve (2) at its head end and has a micro brush (1) which at its tip (10) has a flocculus (11) capable of absorbing a liquid. The micro brush (1) is positioned in an inner sleeve (3) which can be moved inside the outer sleeve (2) in the manner of a plunger.

Abstract: A swab dispenser comprising a bin adapted to store swabs, a fluid reservoir, and optionally, a cover. The bin may be compartmentalized. The reservoir ceiling has a depression in its outer surface and an aperture at the low point of the depression. A membrane covers the aperture. The membrane has at least two intersecting slits that allows a swab to be inserted into the reservoir by temporarily deforming the membrane. Abstract: New dispensers for cake cosmetic products are disclosed. In one embodiment, the dispenser includes a cover member defining a compartment; a cosmetic in the compartment; an abrader member at least partially in the compartment, effective to abrade the cosmetic in the compartment and defining at least one hole through which abraded cosmetic from the compartment passes; and an applicator member including an applicator tip for cosmetic application purposes which is adapted to be placed in proximity to the abrader member to at least partially coat the applicator tip with abraded cosmetic from the compartment.

Abstract: A portable toothbrush case, suitable for use away from home, contains separate compartments for storage of a toothbrush and toothpaste. The compartments are separated by a central partition with a hole that allows toothpaste to flow from its storage space onto the bristles of the toothbrush. Pressing on a portion of the wall of the toothpaste storage compartment squeezes the toothpaste through the hole, onto the toothbrush. Another hole on the outside wall of the toothpaste storage compartment allows refilling from a conventionally designed tube of toothpaste.

Abstract: A toothbrush has a first handle portion containing toothpaste and a movable handle portion projecting longitudinally through an end opening of the first handle portion and forming a ram for expelling the toothpaste through a passage in a bristle end portion of the toothbrush to outlet openings between bristles. The movable handle portion is in two relatively separable parts having mutually interengageable end portions releasably securing the parts together, one of the parts containing a mouthwash chamber with a supply of mouthwash and the other parts containing a floss chamber with a supply of dental floss. The movable handle is readily releasably secured to the first handle portion.

Abstract: The present invention reveals a mascara applicator brush useful for preventing or eliminating contamination from use. The mascara applicator brush is made of bristles, where the bristles are (1) made from an oligodynamic metal, (2) coated with at least an oligodynamic metal or a germicide or (3) made from a polymer containing at least an oligodynamic metal or a germicide.

Abstract: A device for dispensing a liquid or powdery product is disclosed. This device includes a container and a stopper for sealing the container. A pouch made of a deformable elastic substance and including at least one slit is placed within the neck of the container. The slit on the pouch is closed when the stopper is removed from the container to prevent product from accidentally escaping from the container. When the stopper seals the container an applicator on the stopper fits within the pouch and applies a force to a wall of the pouch to open the slit. Thus the applicator may be impregnated with the product when the stopper seals the container.

Abstract: A container for a block of wax, said as surfboard wax, where the container utilizes a manually deflectable cup which provides the storage compartment for the wax. If per chance the block of wax has melted and then hardened assuming the precise shape of the cup, the bottom wall of the cup can be deflected in an upward manner thereby causing removal of the block of wax.

Abstract: The invention is an improved shoe care kit that simplifies the process of shoe polishing by virtue of consolidating conventional shoe shine components such as a brush applicator and/or polishing cloth into a convenient compact storage container. The shoe care kit is designed to be used in conjunction with a commercially produced shoe polish container by clamping the shoe care kit onto the polish container's lid to form an integral kit with the polish container. In the storage mode, the kit is an attractive compact unit and its own traveling or storage case ready to be used by the conventional shoe polishing method.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush is provided and consists of an elongated tubular handle having a threaded aperture in a first end and a compartment therein and a brush member having a shaft with a head and bristles on a first end and threads on a second end. In one instance the brush member can be inserted into the compartment of the handle with the threaded second end engagable with the threaded aperture in the first end of the handle in a storage position. In another instance the brush member can be removed from the compartment of the handle and reversed with the threaded second end engagable with the threaded aperture in the first end of the handle in a useable position.

Abstract: A combined toothbrush and pen-shaped casing includes a pen-shaped casing. The pen-shaped casing includes a clip, a barrel, and a tubular cover adapted to cover the barrel. The tubular cover has a closed end, an open end, and a surrounding side interconnecting the closed and open ends to define a first receiving space. The surrounding side has an axially extending notch. An inverted U-shaped channel providing member is disposed adjacent to the notch and connected to the closed end and to the surrounding side. The channel providing member defines a second receiving space accessible via the notch. A toothbrush is removably confined in the pen-shaped casing and includes a head with bristles and a handle. The head is received in the first receiving space, the bristles extend into the second receiving space, and the handle extends into the barrel when the toothbrush is confined in the pen-shaped casing. An end of the handle engages an end of the barrel when the toothbrush is removed from the pen-shaped casing.

Abstract: An apparatus wherein an elongate, coaxially aligned housing is defined by a first chamber mounting a floor adjacent a lower terminal end of the housing, with the floor including a chamber floor underlying the floor, and a removable lid for rotatably mounting a dental floss spool therewithin. A piston is slidably mounted overlying and spaced from the floor to define a toothpaste chamber therebetween, wherein the piston mounts a dispensing boss, including a plurality of ports, wherein a plurality of spaced, parallel rails are diametrically mounted on the piston spaced from the dispensing boss, with a recess positioned within a top surface of the piston for receiving an upper terminal end of the toothbrush therebetween to position the toothbrush in alignment with the dispensing boss. A second chamber is fixedly mounted coextensively with the housing adjacent a side wall thereof for receiving the toothbrush therewithin.

Abstract: A portable dental care unit is disclosed, including an upper piece and a lower piece. The upper piece has a head portion and bristles which are attached to, and extend generally laterally from the head portion. A base of the upper piece is selectively attached to the lower piece such that the lower piece forms a handle for the toothbrush apparatus. An intermediate portion interconnects the head portion and the base portion and includes a recessed region formed below the bristles. The lower piece has a receptacle for accommodating a first dentifrice therein. A container is received by the recessed region for holding a second dentifrice therein. A closure is selectively engaged with the toothbrush apparatus for provisionally enclosing at least the head portion and the bristles of the upper piece between uses.

Abstract: A cosmetic powder brush dispenser for depositing cosmetic powder onto a brush within the unitary structure of the dispenser. The dispenser incorporates a deformable container for storing the cosmetic powder and a spray-head at the end of the container with an orifice and upstanding posts that ensure powder break-up prior to its exiting the orifice. A second embodiment of the device uses a metering collar to limit the amount of deformation of the container whereby a desired small quantity of cosmetic powder is forced therefrom.

Abstract: A vented package for a plurality of dispensers for flowable products. The vented package includes a base member having a fluid passage therein and an overcap having an aperture therein to allow venting of product vapors which escape from the dispensers. The dispenser includes a container body, a mounting member fitted on the container body and a dispensing head such as an applicator head movably mounted on the mounting member. The mounting member includes an axially extending closure member with a pin member thereon. The dispensing head includes an aperture and a skirted chamber beneath the aperture, the skirted chamber including slits for controlling flow of material into the skirted chamber from the container body. The dispensing head is movable from an open position to a closed position wherein the closure member fits within the skirted chamber and the pin member fits within the aperture.

Abstract: A first hollow cylindrical member has a first open end and an opposite closed second end with a plurality of spaced off set axially disposed channels therein. A hollow capsule filled with cosmetic powder is closed at one end and open at the other. The capsule is inserted into the first member with the capsule open end adjacent the second end and communicating with the channels. A second hollow cylindrical member has opposite open third and fourth ends. The inner surface of the second member adjacent the third end is threaded. The second end rotatably engages the third end. A hollow cylindrical element is disposed in the second member and is open at both ends. The element has a thread on its outer surface which engages the inner surface thread of the second member. The element has a like plurality of prongs which are engagable with and disengagable from the channels.

Abstract: A hollow elongated capsule containing cosmetic powder slides removably into an open end of a first elongated hollow member. The other end of the first member has a plurality of spaced openings. A second hollow elongated member has two opposite ends, one of which engages the other end of the first member. A plate disposed in the second member intermediate its ends has openings aligned with the first member openings. An element slidably disposed in the second member has openings which can be moved into alignment with the plate and member openings or which can be moved out of such alignment. A brush having parallel bristles with powder applying tips is disposed in the third member with the tips disposed adjacent the second member. The brush and third member have manually operated cooperating elements for establishing a first position at which the bristles extend almost entirely out of the third member and a second position at which the bristles are disposed within the third member.

Abstract: A first elongated hollow cylindrical member has a first open end and a second closed end. The second end has a central opening and an exposed face carrying an offset circular groove surrounding the opening. A hollow elongated capsule filled with cosmetic powder is slidably and removably disposed in the first member and has an open end adjacent the second end. A second elongated hollow cylindrical member has a third closed end and an opposite open fourth end. The third end has an exposed face with a transverse slot therein. The slot has a hole. The second and third ends are rotatably engaged. An elongated member is slidable in the slot and has a chamber and a transversely disposed prong. The prong rides in the groove and is moved back and forth in the slot as the first and second members are rotated relatively to each other. These members have a first rotational position at which the chamber and opening are aligned and a second rotational position at which the hole and opening are aligned.

Abstract: A first elongated hollow member has a first open end and an opposite closed end with a plurality of small spaced openings therein. A hollow elongated capsule, adapted to be filled with cosmetic powder, closed at one end and open at the other, is removably slidable into and out of the first member. The capsule, when inserted in the first member, has its open end adjacent the second end of the first member and its closed end closing the first end of the second member. A second elongated hollow member has first and second open ends, the first member having its closed end disposed in the first end of the second member. The second member has a cam in the first end with openings aligned with the openings in the closed end of the first member.

Abstract: A hollow elongated capsule containing cosmetic powder slides removably into an open end of a first elongated hollow member. The other end of the first member has a plurality of spaced openings. A second hollow elongated member has one end with like openings which is engaged to the other end of the first member. These two members have a first position of relative rotation at which the openings are aligned and a second position at which these openings are out of alignment. A third elongated hollow member has an open end detachably engaging the opposite end of the second member. A brush having parallel bristles with powder applying tips is disposed in the third member with the tips disposed adjacent the second member.

Abstract: A first elongated hollow member has first and second opposite ends, the first end being open, the second end being closed and having a plurality of small spaced apart openings therein. A hollow elongated capsule adapted to be filled with cosmetic powder is closed at one end and open at the other. The capsule is removably slidable into and out of the first member. The capsule, when inserted in the first member, has its open end adjacent the second end of the first member and its closed end closing the first end of the first member. A second elongated hollow member has a first end with a like plurality of like openings and a second open end, the second member rotatably engaging the first member with the first end of the second member adjacent the second end of the first member. The first and second members have a first position of relative rotation at which the openings in the two members are aligned and a second position of relative rotation at which the openings in the two members are out of alignment.

Abstract: An attachment is disclosed for use on paint cans and the like. An annular rim guard having an outer wall connected to sloping an annular ring fits on an open can. The annular ring covers a lid receiving groove in a can rim. Integral securing members with C-shaped openings removably secure the rim guard to bail bearings of the can. Sealing flanges are integrally fixed to the bottom of the annular ring portion to provide a sealing contact surface. A paintbrush holder receptacle with a brush receiving opening and a drain opening is fixed to the rim guard for maintaining a paintbrush in a substantially upright position. The drain opening at the bottom of the brush holder is positioned over the can opening to allow excess paint from a brush in the holder to drain into the can interior. A permanent grid feature is located across the drain opening to prohibit small width brushes from entering the can interior. A pouring spout is located in an outer wall of the brush holder.

Abstract: For use with a toothpaste tube having a conical end face surrounding an exteriorly threaded nipple there is a rigid stem long enough to be grasped by a user. A hub on the stem is interiorly threaded to engage the tube threads. A bristle base having bristles therein is removably engageable with the stem. The bristle base, the stem and the hub have a connecting interior passageway to conduct toothpaste from the tube when squeezed to the bristle base. The toothpaste tube and the stem serve for manipulation of the bristles.

Abstract: A holder for paint brushes and other paint applicators which is attached or attachable to the paint container, and which is constructed of moisture resistant sheet or film-like materials to conform to and adhere to the container. The holder folds outward to form a pocket for the paint brush during the painting process.

Abstract: A toothpaste holder and dispenser is described comprising a housing including a compartment for receiving a collapsible tube of toothpaste, the compartment having a wall formed with an opening through which the toothpaste is dispensed. The housing includes a closure member normally closing the dispensing opening but engageable by a toothbrush for opening same to thereby permit the collapsible tube to dispense toothpaste onto the toothbrush. The housing further includes a second compartment for receiving the toothbrush, the latter having detent means for holding the toothbrush within its compartment.

Abstract: A tool assembly is provided for maintaining and repairing the runner surfaces and edges of skis. The basic unit of the assembly is a hand held tool to which blades may be attached for planing or scraping the running surface and longitudinal center groove of the ski. The basic unit also has provisions for mounting a flat file to file and sharpen the metal edges of the skis. A waxing attachment for applying a uniform wax coating to the ski is also provided along with a polishing unit. The assembly further includes a base and heater with a wax reservoir.

Abstract: A cleaning device for records and pickup style is disclosed, including a cleaning element supporting a stylus brush and having on its lower side a cleaning cover or layer for wiping over the record. A trough-like container is provided into which the cleaning element can be inserted so that its cleaning surface is enclosed. The stylus brush is detachably supported on the cleaning element by means of a fastening device.
