Abstract: A portable cleaning device for golf clubs has a reservoir for containing cleaning fluid, a scrubbing means attached to the bottom of the reservoir and a valve means for controlling the flow of the cleaning fluid into the scrubbing means. The user can control the valve by straightening the fingers of his hand while holding the device in one hand and the golf club to be cleaned in the other.

Abstract: A simple, inexpensive stand for disposable writing instruments characterized by a removable cap having an attached resilient pocket clip. The stand includes the stand base and the pen cap, with the stand base including structure for attaching the cap to the stand base by cooperative engagement with the pocket clip so that the cap is supported by the stand base in a generally upright or inclined position.

Abstract: A container for products applicable to the scalp comprising an elongated and hollow reservoir portion with a base end and an application end opposite each other, a housing being formed at the application end which houses a sphere or revolution body that freely revolves therein, the object of the invention being that of providing a container of this type which allows a more accurate dosage of the product contained therein and a simultaneous application with other products in the desired proportions. This object is achieved by providing a flange portion integral with the reservoir portion near the base end of the reservoir portion, the container being individually fittable onto a support that is common to other similar containers. The present invention further proposes a support base with fitting elements to receive a plurality of containers of this type.

Abstract: An ink cartridge comprising sealing members sealing openings of both ends of the cartridge body, a holder cap fitted around the upper end of the cartridge body; a seal opener connected to the lower end of an operating shaft inserted through a guide hole in the upper end of the holder cap; an elastic member urging the seal opener in the upward direction to separate it from the upper sealing member; and a seal packing provided on the upper end surface of the seal opener and pressed onto the upper inner surface of the holder cap by the urging force of the elastic member to block an air inlet that is formed by a gap between the operating shaft and the guide hole, the operating shaft being pushed downward against the urging force of the elastic member to cause the upper sealing member to be torn open by the seal opener, thereby preventing the ink from flowing into the ink tank, as desired, which makes it possible to control the quantity of ink to be supplied to the ink tank.

Abstract: A bathroom accessory adapted to be mounted on a wall and includes an enclosure having front and rear faces and a pair of separate, inner liquid chamber formed between said faces. Separate pump dispensers are mounted to the enclosure and communicate with outlet openings in each chamber. A spring biased reel, carrying a retractable flexible cable, is mounted within the enclosure with the free end of the cable extending through an opening in the front face. A soap holder comprising an open mesh or liquid permeable flexible material is releasably connected to the free end of the cable. Therefore the soap holder, carrying a bar of solid soap, may be extended away from the enclosure for use and returned automatically to a position closely adjacent the enclosure upon release by the user.

Abstract: A brush holder for unattended car wash bays which releases the brush for the period paid for by coin deposits and locks the brush upon termination of that period.

Abstract: A combined skin lotion dispenser and applicator is disclosed herein having an elongated tube containing a quantity of lotion which is of thin walled construction so as to be manually squeezed to forceably urge the lotion through a one-way closure valve into a rigid applicator member of a paddle type. The member includes a row of openings of different diameters arranged in fixed apart spaced relationship on a convex arcuate section. The member is covered with a removable mitt or fabric bag intended to be saturated with the dispensed lotion. A detachable base is provided for supporting the applicator on a surface and a tote or carrying bag is employed for storing the applicator during transport.

Abstract: A magnetic penholder and magnetic pen set which comprises a base (1) with magnet (5) therein with one magnetic pole facing upwards. Pen (2) includes a magnet (8) therein which is attracted by the magnet (5) of the base, so that the pen will rotate until an opposite pole is exposed. The curved surface of the base provides substantially a point area of contact between the base and pen.

Abstract: There is disclosed a squeeze-type bottle for dispensing hair-tinting solution having a threaded cap with an applicator brush to which solution is directed through a slot in the cap and a hair spreader extending co-axially of the bottle from the base thereof, the bottle being supported in a vertical position by a base on which the bottle rests with the hair spreader suspended in the base and which also functions as a funnel for filling the bottle.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush is provided and consists of a handle with a reservoir therein for holding toothpaste therein whereby the toothpaste can be discharged through the toothbrush into the bristles in the head by a person holding the handle and squeezing flexible portions along the handle thus controlling the amount of toothpaste used.

Abstract: The container is provided with an outlet opening associated with a dispensing head (5) including an ejection duct (21-26) disposed in the axis of the outlet opening of the container, and a nozzle (28) forming an angle with the ejection duct, an applicator (8) being disposed at the free end of the nozzle (28). This applicator (8) includes on the one hand a cylindrical sleeve (31) cooperating with the free end of the nozzle (28) and on the other hand a base plate (29) joined by the cylindrical sleeve and which includes bristles (30) on its face opposite the cylindrical sleeve (31). The projection (7), a movable part of the dispensing head, includes on its top wall a device (17) for retaining the cylindrical sleeve (31) in a position in which its axis is substantially parallel to that of the outlet opening, so that a guard cap can be put into place on the dispensing zone of the container (1).

Abstract: A multi-tipped pen and a pen/pen holder combination are disclosed. The multi-tipped pen has an even number of pen tips spaced at a set distance to enable to user to draw simultaneously parallel lines. The pen is used by layout artists to indicate the placing and size of printed material that will appear in the final version of an advertisement. The distance between the pen tips indicates the size of type to be used. The pen may be located within a pen holder that prevents the pen tips from drying out.

Abstract: A card type writing instrument has a casing made of plastics and at least one recess formed therein. Also, at least one flat writing element capable of being removably fitted into the recess in the casing is provided. When the writing element is held in the recess it is essentially integral with the casing and defines the shape of a card. The writing instrument may include a variety of writing elements such as a mechanical pencil unit and ball-point pen unit by providing a plurality of recesses in the casing for receiving the writing elements.

Abstract: A one-hand operable cosmetic container includes a pair of cases pivotally mounted to a base. The cases are resiliently biased to a closed position wherein the product is enclosed by the cases. A trigger or tabs are provided for pivoting the cases to an open position wherein the product is exposed.

Abstract: A paintbrush holder having a container and a closely fitting lid has a support for a brush parallel to an inclined wall of the container. The container is filled with solvent fluid to above the level of the brush support which is preferably a comb through which the bristles of the brush are drawn to remove the paint. Tines of the comb extend in a direction projecting from the plane of the inclined wall. The brush is supported for storage parallel to the inclined wall, with the bristles away from collected sediment.

Abstract: A clip assembly for an elongated instrument which includes a base portion, a resilient elongated member extending from the base portion and means extending from the base portion dimensioned for insertion into an aperture defined by the elongated instrument for snap-locking engagement therewith and attachment of the base portion thereto. In its preferred form the elongated instrument is a pen which includes a body member having a reservoir of writing medium and a writing tip, a cap member configured and dimensioned for mating engagement with the body member; and a clip. The clip includes a base portion, a resilient elongated member extending from the base portion; and means extending from the base portion configured and dimensioned for insertion into an aperture defined by the body or cap member of the writing instrument for snap-locking engagement therewith and attachment of the base portion thereto.

Abstract: An applicator for particulate compositions having a horizontally oriented apertured dispensing container, wheels on either side, and an improved upright handle apparatus. The handle apparatus includes a yoke with a cross member, a mounting bracket affixed to the cross member, a pivotably attached slide mount which is preferably a support tube, a slidably mounted elongated handle, and lock members on the mount and handle for selectively securing the handle member in the slide mount in either an upright use position or a horizontal carrying/storage position. The lock members are preferably spring-loaded button members with buttons receivable in a lateral opening in the support tube. A socket in the bracket base provides rigid connection of the handle member to the cross member.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing essentially dry powder onto a surface to be cleaned such as a carpet. The apparatus comprises a hopper for holding essentially dry powder, a cylindrical applicator, rotatably carried by the hopper and mounted such that one portion of the applicator is in contact with the carpet to be cleaned and the other portion is in communication with the inside of the hopper. A transport cover encloses the applicator when the apparatus is not in use. A hopper cover and sealing means maintains the moisture content of material inside the hopper.

Abstract: A tubular casing which is designed to be stable in an upright position it has a bottom portion with an axial opening into which is forcibly fitted an axial spigot on a base member which engages the bottom portion. An annular ballast weight is fitted around the spigot and is held in place on it by the bottom portion; the ballast weight may have claws on its inside to engage the spigot, which can be of tapering form and has latching members to hold it in the opening.

Abstract: A cap and clip assembly for an instrument having working means at one end, the assembly being adapted to cover the working means when the working means is not in use, the assembly including a cap member having an open end, a housing extending from the cap member proximate the open end and including a slot having an opening facing in the same direction as the open end of the cap member, and an elongated clip member having a substantially flat base portion, the cap member slot being adapted to receive and retain the base portion of the clip member.

Abstract: Magnetic holder device for pens and the like. The device comprises a base provided with a cavity for introducing the front or writing end of a pen; a first annular-shaped permanent magnet is arranged in the base member around the aforesaid cavity, and a second permanent magnet on the pen is situated at a short distance from the tip end of the pen and the annular magnet; the magnetic polarities of the second magnet are orientated in an opposite direction to the polarities of the annular magnet so that the two magnetic fields interact to draw the pen towards the bottom of the base and to laterally support it in an upright position.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for joining two abutting pieces of carpet. The process comprises applying to the carpet backing along both sides of the juncture a strip of hot molten glue at about 210.degree.-425.degree. F. and applying a joining tape to the strip of molten glue, pressing together the tape, glue and carpet backing to cause the glue to soften and penetrate both the tape and the backing, and allow the glue to cool and solidify into a fused and unitary bond. The apparatus comprises a hot glue dispensing gun with a nozzle and a glue applicator attached to the nozzle for uniformly dispensing a strip of glue, a roll of joining tape fed from above and adjacent to the applicator, and a spring loaded roller to press the tape onto the top of the glue strip.

Abstract: The invention is a novel package for dispensing odors such as naturally occurring odors, commonly for the purpose of either masking from wild animals the odor of a human in the vicinity, or for the purpose of attracting wild animals. The package includes a receptacle, a reservoir in the receptacle, and an odor producing liquid in the reservoir. A dispensing conduit extends from the reservoir to a dispensing tip. The microporous construction of the conduit is capable of preferentially absorbing the liquid from the reservoir and conducting it to the tip where it is dispensed by evaporation, or by a touching or rubbing action. A cap is used for closing the package by emplacement over the tip. It is also used for hanging the dispenser. One method of dispensing includes selecting a location, opening the dispenser by removing the cap, and placing the dispensing package in the selected location.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush having a squeezable handle with dentifrice therein. A cap is mountable to the brush to enclose the bristles and prevent dentifrice from escaping the brush. Each bristle includes a square cross-section and a radiused distal end. The end of the handle is sealed by a closure having a mounting pin hole to facilitate mounting of the brush in an upright position upon a mounting pin.

Abstract: A pen comprises an elongated one-piece barrel having substantially rigid tip end and head end portions joined to each other by an intermediate integral flexible portion, whereby the barrel can be bent at the flexible portion, and a writing tip at the distal end of the tip end portion. A substantially rigid tubular cap member is telescopically received over the tip end portion of the barrel such that it can be moved along the barrel between (1) a retracted position in which it overlies part of the tip end portion and substantially all of the flexible portion, thus exposing the writing tip for use and rendering the pen substantially rigid, and (2) an extended position in which it covers the writing tip and leaves the flexible portion exposed, thus protecting the writing tip and rendering the pen flexible. Interengaging rib and groove couplings on the cap and the tip end portion of the barrel releasably retain the cap member in each of the retracted and extended positions.

Abstract: A modular writing instrument cap system is disclosed, in which each individual cap comprises an elongated tubular portion having an open end and a closed end. Near the closed end the cap is internally provided with a seal member adapted to seal with a writing instrument holding quick-drying ink. Near the open end, the tubular portion is internally provided with a catch for removably securing the cap on a writing instrument. Externally on the closed end, the cap is provided with a transversely-oriented open ended tubular barrel. The barrel is configured to receive an internally threaded sleeve, terminator rings and screws which thread towards one another through the rings into the opposite ends of the sleeve in order to hold the assembly together and secure a bail to it. The ends of the barrel and corresponding ends of the terminator rings are cooperatively notched to accommodate the legs of the bail.

Abstract: A paint dispensing system including a pressure-tight container for holding paint under pressure, the container having spaced vents along a base portion thereof, a resilient securing means on the container in spaced relation to the vents, and a trough having a pair of spaced tabs extending therefrom and proportioned to be received in the vents to hold the trough in a generally horizontal position. The trough serves as a receptacle for a paint roller comprising a handle and a paint roller assembly detachably secured to the handle, the handle being insertable into the resilient securing means to hold the paint roller suspended above the trough.

Abstract: A writing pen or similar article device has a pocket fastening clip pivoted to a body by means of a connector rigid with and outside the body. A separate leaf spring is connected to the free end of the clip and is connected to the body by means of an opening formed in a device outside of and rigid with the body. The opening is between the pivot of the clip and the free end of the clip so that the clip covers and hides the spring by virtue of a groove in the clip in which the spring is dispersed.

Abstract: A releasable protective holder for a tip of a writing or drafting implement including a polygonal part, a cylindrical part extending therefrom and a writing or drafting tube on the cylindrical part extending into the holder when theimplement tip is held therein, which comprises a first receiving portion of a polygonal cross section keyed to the polygonal part, the first receiving portion including an annular bottom wall engaging an end face of the polygonal implement tip part, and a second, tubular receiving portion extending from the annular bottom wall of the first receiving portion to a free end thereof, the tubular receiving portion yieldingly surrounding the cylindrical part of the implement tip and defining a bore having at the free end of the bore a diameter smaller than the diameter of the cylindrical part for releasably clamping the implement tip in the protective holder.

Abstract: An improved scoop coater for manual application of emulsions to screens in the screen printing industry is formed inexpensively from metal extrusions and is configured to provide good handling characteristics when applying an emulsion coating. The scoop coater includes a one-piece extruded metal body having a trough-shaped portion for holding liquids and two upstanding extruded metal end walls which are attached to opposite ends of the trough-shaped portion of the body. Two legs and a handle projecting from the trough-shaped portion of the body have beads which provide improved fingerholds along their edges. Guide surfaces formed on the end walls function to keep the scoop coater at an optimal inclination toward a screen during use. An extruded metal cover is provided to cover emulsion in the trough between usages of the scoop coater.

Abstract: A writing instrument is described, which includes a writing assembly, a holder for an ink reservoir joined to the writing assembly, a removable barrel secured by rotation to the holder, and a removable cap which, in the closed position, fits over and protects the writing assembly. The cap and writing assembly are rotatably integrated in both rotational directions when the cap is in the closed position, so that removal of the barrel is effected simply by rotating the barrel relative to the cap without it being necessary to remove the cap and hold the writing assembly in the hand.

Abstract: A screw cap for a container equipped with a threaded neck is provided and the cap supports an applicator shank therefrom for limited axial shifting and rotation relative to the cap. The applicator shank is spring biased to a position of maximum extension relative to the open end of the cap and is equipped with an abutment disc for abutting the outer end of the associated container threaded neck for partially retracting the shank in response to threaded engagement of the cap with the container neck. The applicator shank is of an length to extend to the bottom of the container when the disc is abutted against the outer end of the container neck and the shank may be extended relative to the cap to a position with the abutment disc disposed slightly outwardly of the open end of the cap when the cap is disengaged from the container neck.

Abstract: A liquid applicator device and a method of utilization thereof to effect plant destruction. A first distinct container containing herbicide, with a rotary valve extending from one end thereof, is mounted on a second elongated container with the metering valve between the first and second containers. An elongated roller having a fibrous cover for receiving herbicide from the container and for ultimately transferring the herbicide to a plant is insertable into the second container, and has a handle extending from one end thereof outwardly of the second container. The opposite end of the roller is operatively connected to an actuator for the valve between the containers so that relative rotational movement between the roller and the containers results in metering of a predetermined amount of herbicide from the first container to the second container.

Abstract: A plant care kit includes a plurality of elements for cleaning and waxing the leaves of household plants. The leaf cleaner includes a support member for gently supporting the leaf of a plant to be cleaned. A soft, porous cleaning element, such as a sponge or the like, is secured to one surface of the support member for engaging the bottom side of a plant leaf. A handle is mounted on the support member, opposite the cleaning member to facilitate grasping by the user and to allow the user of the device to hold the support member in one hand. The leaf cleaning device further includes a second similar cleaning member such as a sponge or the like that may be held in the other hand of the user and placed on top of the leaf to be cleaned. The leaf is sandwiched between the first and second cleaning members and drawn along the length of the leaf thereby simultaneously wiping the upper and lower surfaces.

Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning phonograph records comprises a grip member th at least one cleaning insert engaged with the grip member and having a record engaging cleaning surface which projects outwardly therefrom which is adapted to rest upon a record to be cleaned. The surface may advantageously be covered by a ribbon or other cleaning cloth which may be wetted with a cleaning liquid. The grip member is provided with a bearing pressure weight member which acts through the grip member on the insert to apply a predetermined cleaning pressure to the record. The grip member advantageously comprises a member having a trough facing outwardly from each side into which an insert is positioned and a weight member is disposed therebetween the trough members. One of the inserts is adapted to rest in a cleaning housing or case so that it contacts a wick which is wetted with cleaning liquid so that its surface or the surface of a cleaning cloth wrapped therearound is wetted at all times.

Abstract: Apparatus for retractably extending an overhead supported writing implement maintains a uniform light retraction force upon the writing implement regardless of the degree of extension of the writing implement.

The basic unit of the assembly is a hand held tool to which blades may be attached for planing or scraping the running surface and longitudinal center groove of the ski. The basic unit also has provisions for mounting a flat file to file and sharpen the metal edges of the skis. A waxing attachment for applying a uniform wax coating to the ski is also provided along with a polishing unit. The assembly further includes a base and heater with a wax reservoir.
