  • Patent number: 4071384
Abstract: There is described a method for road surface marking with tape material, including the steps of applying a thin layer of an essentially liquid hydrophilous wetting agent on said surface, of forming an essentially bituminous primer layer thereon, and then pressingly laying a prefabricated tape material on said primer layer, such being formed with an essentially thermoplastic composition containing at least 60 % by weight of solid thermoplastic substances fluidified for intimately contacting the road surface, capable of fastly solidify at least to 10.sup.3 - 10.sup.4 cP for receiving the tape material, then up to at least 10.sup.5 cP to provide a bond of the tape to said surface capable to resist to horizontal stress of at least 1.5 kg/cm within 30 seconds, and further harden at ambient temperature to resist to a stress of at least 3 kg/cm. There are also described devices for applying such composition and tape and for melting the said solid thermoplastic substances.

  • Patent number: 3988070
Abstract: A device for dispensing wax for application on skis is disclosed. The device, operated by hand, utilizes a valve to release in a uniform manner melted wax from a plurality of discharge openings at the bottom of the device. The discharge openings are placed in conjunction with triangular surface parts which place an optimum film of wax on the running surface of the skis. Once the wax is applied, it may be ironed onto the running surface by means of a heated element on one side of the device.

  • Patent number: 3932043
Abstract: An applicator is described which is especially adapted for applying lane conditioner, wax and other fluids to bowling lanes for the purpose of cleaning and conditioning the lanes, and to distribute said fluids uniformly and quickly thereover. The applicator comprises a pan-like member having perforations for passage of said fluids therethrough, a mop-like member removably secured to said pan-like member, a pad of highly absorbent, porous and compressible material disposed in said pan-like member, a fluid distributor reservoir supported by said pad, and means, including a handle secured to said distributor reservoir, and effective upon pressure applied thereto to compress the pad and cause fluid to be ejected from said pad through said perforations directly to the surface being conditioned and spread by said mop-like member. Means are provided for removably latching said reservoir to said pan-like member.
