With Means To Impart Heat To Material Patents (Class 401/1)
  • Patent number: 7074228
Abstract: A wax applicator for use with a microwave heating oven for dispensing a depilatory wax for removal of hair from skin comprising a hollow casing having an opening thereinto. An elongate reservoir for depilatory wax is disposed in the casing and is fabricated, at least partially, from a from a material having a first outer layer of a thermally insulating material that provides a barrier to the transmission of thermal energy and a second inner layer that absorbs radio frequency energies. The reservoir unit is adapted to be slidably inserted into the casing opening for retention in the casing. The reservoir also has disposed at a first end extending from the casing when the reservoir is retained therein, a dispensing mechanism for transporting depilatory wax from the reservoir to a surface for application.

  • Patent number: 6926457
Abstract: An applicator including a wax container reservoir, acting at the same time as a handle, at the mouth of which there is a head attached which, acting as the applicator means proper, centers its features around the fact that, after a sector for attachment to the container reservoir neck, said applicator incorporates a gradually but noticeably narrowing area in order to achieve a parallel restriction of the flow of wax to the outlet end, where an inner rib is established that in turn produces a second pronounced narrowing, defining a slotted hole, which generates a laminar flow for the wax towards an externally concave arched vane which facilitates the application of the wax onto the user's body, said arched vane being encompassed by two triangular side partition walls that also act as lateral constraints for the wax during its application.

  • Patent number: 6390711
Abstract: An inexpensive writing pen for low viscosity liquid inks and formed with an internal ink reservoir and a capillary system for admitting air into the reservoir. The ink reservoir is formed directly by the walls of the pen body, which form an internal cavity. Transfer of heat from the writer's hand into the region of the ink reservoir is inhibited by providing projection elements and intervening air spaces, which form the effective outer surface of the pen body. Preferably, the material of the pen body extends substantially above the upper limits of the internal ink reservoir, and is provided in those upper areas with similar projections and spaces, facilitating transfer of heat from the pen body into the ambient. The arrangement minimizes variations in the pen characteristics resulting from transfer of heat from the user's hand, which can become relatively more acute as the volume of air within the ink reservoir increases as a result of ink consumption.

Abstract: The present invention provides a machine for automating the transferral and application of hot asphalt material to roof surfaces. The machine includes a number of reels attached to an outer shell contained on a cart. Each reel contains roughly five-hundred feet of hose and attaches to one of two types of hand-held applicator devices. An electric generator, a storage tank assembly, and a pump assembly are contained within the outer shell. The combination of heating elements disposed within the storage tank and heating wires wrapped around the inner tube members of the hoses keeps the asphalt material in a liquified form during operation of the device. Compared to other conventional methods and apparatus, the present device greatly enhances the safety and efficiency associated with hot asphalt roofing.
