In another embodiment, one or more paint pedestal surfaces are coated with paint from the reservoir in order to transfer paint to paint pads. Each of the paint pads and the trays includes features to selectively apply paint to the paint pad and to avoid applying paint to selected longitudinal edges of the paint pad. The lack of paint along the longitudinal edges helps to prevent paint from dripping or being forced from the longitudinal edge onto adjacent dry surfaces, and thereby enables a user to paint uniformly near edges while avoiding adjacent areas.

The balls are provided with grooves which allow them to more efficiently deliver lotion to the sponge roller, and the rotatable movement of the sponge roller effects the concurrent rotation of the applicator balls so as to maintain a continuous supply of lotion to the roller. The handle of the applicator is provided with a flexible neck portion which allows the handle to be angularly adjusted relative to the roller to thus increase the capability of the user to apply lotion to hard-to-reach areas of his or her body.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided primarily for the application of liquid contact herbicides to plants. A liquid applicator roller is mounted for rotation about a generally horizontal axis and in operative communication with a reservoir of liquid herbicide. The housing mounting the roller is readily adaptable to mount a hand pushed or pulled unit, or to be mounted on a tractor tool bar. A drive wheel can communicate with a raised surface portion of the liquid applicator roller for effecting rotation thereof.
