Abstract: The present invention is a flow-thru cosmetic dispenser and applicator that comprises a means for controlling the flow of product from a reservoir to an applicator tip. The flow control means comprises wedge structures attached to biased hinges. The wedge structures move on the hinges in response to the removal or placement of a closure. The movement of the wedges alternately opens and pinches-off a deformable conduit in which the product flows. The invention includes means for converting any ordinary cosmetic container into a flow-thru container.

Abstract: A liquid cosmetic case adapted to dispense a cosmetic material which includes a tube-shaped container adapted to house a cosmetic material, said container being provided at one end thereof with threaded walls which define an aperture; a cap provided with locking slots and threads for screw engagement with the threaded walls of said container; a discharger disposed within said aperture, said discharger containing liquid guiding passages which communicate at one end with the container and at the other end with a conduit provided in such discharger; and a support cap engaged with the upper external portion of said discharger for securing a brush to the discharger conduit, said support cap containing locking flanges which engage with said locking slots provided in said cap, whereby upon the engagement and disengagement between the cap and the discharger, the communication through said liquid guiding passes between said container and said conduit in the discharger can be opened or closed.

The bag has a continuous scrubbing surface and a side wall joined together to form an interior cavity, The bag has a mouth for allowing ingress into the interior cavity and has a plurality of foam discharge holes in side wall thereof for allowing foam to pass therethrough. The closure device is configured to close the mouth of the bag when the head of a brush is received in the interior cavity and to removably secure the bag to the head of the brush.

The floss assembly is cooperatively associated with the toothbrush assembly and comprises a spool-supporting lid, a floss spool, and a floss cap. The spool-supporting lid covers the paste-dispensing brush and supports the floss spool. The floss cap covers the floss spool and provides the kit with a floss-cutting structure. Together the toothbrush assembly and the floss assembly may contribute to a user's oral hygiene.

The triangular shaped rubber pad is for conforming to and massaging gumlines at the back of teeth. When the end cap is turned, the squeezing block may be actuated to move forward or backward such that the toothpaste may be squeezed toward the brush rod to overflow over the brush bristles through the guide passage. By opening a seal lid of the turning end cap, a general toothpaste tube can be squeezed so that the toothpaste refills the toothpaste receiver during refilling.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush assembly has a special hollow handle that contains enough toothpaste for one use. The handle includes a dispensing orifice, preferably at the head. An external plug seals the orifice, and thus also the toothpaste from the exterior. The plug is manually removable to unseal the orifice. A compressed spring within the handle can be released by removing a stop. This causes a piston at the end of the spring to eject the toothpaste through the dispensing orifice on the bristles. The stop is advantageously formed integrally with the plug.

Abstract: A repair kit and method facilitate a quick and durarble paint repair on any color vehicle or other painted item. The kit includes a fine abrasive surface preparation tool, an applicator, and a universal touch-up paint. A second embodiment adds a small flexible rubber sanding block, a plurality of pre-cut ultrafine sanding papers, and an ultrafine polish having an abrasive selected to remove sandpaper scratches and restore the gloss to sanded paint. These elements combine to produce a smooth unbroken surface finish in a repaired area when used for paint repairs with a matching color touch-up paint. One embodiment of the fine abrasive surface preparation tool is a reusable, retractable brush to hold fiberglass bristle cartridges and provides room for a warning label and storage for a spare cartridge. A second embodiment is a low cost fiberglass brush which is disposable and has a cap cover the bristles when not in use and during shipping.

Abstract: A combined toothbrush and toothpaste dispenser is described which is adapted to store toothpaste in a reservoir in the casing of the brush and to deposit a controlled quantity of the stored toothpaste directly onto the brush surface. The toothbrush comprises: (1) a brush 1 having bristles 8 which are attached to and supported by a brush head portion 5 and a handle 2, and (2) a casing 11 made of flexible material containing a reservoir 7 within the casing. The toothbrush is operated by squeezing the casing which causes toothpaste to be deposited from the reservoir onto the bristles. The upper surface of the bristles may have cavities 12 to receive and contain the toothpaste.

Also included is a toothbrush assembly including a hollow linear rod removably coupled to the toothpaste dispenser. The toothbrush assembly further includes a plurality of bristles extending horizontally from an upper extent of the hollow rod and at least one bore formed therein. The toothbrush assembly is threadedly coupleable to the toothpaste dispenser for receiving toothpaste therefrom.

Abstract: Embodiments of a disposable toothbrush are described, which have a self-contained dentifrice package which is kept unopened until the moment of desired use. The toothbrush has a soft, flexible plastic head for breaking the dentifrice package and sharp, hollow tubes or needles for distributing the dentifrice to the bristles. The toothbrush is ergonomically designed to fit hand and mouth with smooth, comfortable edges and outer surfaces and to prevent choking hazards by positively fastening parts. It is further designed to look generally like a fountain pen so it can be more comfortably carried and, thus, more available and useful.

Abstract: The inventive fluid dispenser includes a container in which the fluid to be dispensed is stored and an attached brush-type applicator from which the stored fluid may be selectively applied to a work surface. The container has an open end to which an applicator housing is attached and which carries a bristled brush. An insert disposed within the applicator housing defines passageways through which stored fluid is deliverable from the container to the applicator housing. The fluid-delivery passageways are automatically closed when an associated cap is detachably positioned about the brush-carrying end of the dispenser through deformation or displacement of the applicator housing to prevent the unintended delivery of stored fluid into the applicator housing during periods of nonuse. The insert may also include a vapors-release passageway extending between the container and the applicator housing for venting vapors into the brush-enveloped cap and thereby prevent drying out of the brush during periods of nonuse.

Abstract: A dental brush having a flexible fibrous tip with internal cannula to allow medicament, such as tetracycline, chlorhexidine or stannous fluoride, or combinations thereof to flow through the fibrous tip. The flexible fibrous tip includes a nonwoven tufted surface that completely covers the tip to remove plaque. The applicator tip fits between the teeth and the gum line and delivers both physical and chemical treatment to interproximal periodontal pockets. The medicament solution is stored in a disposable sealed and sterile cartridge and is held in the base of the device. A pump built into the base provides pressure to push the medicament through the cannula to the fibrous brush tip to provide site-specific dosage-controlled treatment. The brush tip is disposable and provides effective interproximal subgingival debridement and site-specific application of medication to infected areas.

When pressure is applied to the plastic pad, toothpaste is forced from the hollow handle through a duct in the neck and out of openings between bristle tufts on the head. A self-adhering plastic cover covers the openings in the head to prevent crusting or the toothpaste. The plastic cover may be reapplied following use to allow for a plurality of uses before the toothbrush is discarded.

The conduit is operable to be placed in fluid communication with the container. The brush head has bristles, a fluid receiving opening for receiving the fluid and a fluid dispersing opening in communication with the fluid receiving opening for dispersing the fluid amongst the bristles. The coupling is operable to be placed in fluid communication with the conduit and cooperates with the brush head such that the brush head is movably secured to the coupling and moveable between first and second positions relative to the coupling. The coupling has a plug operable to plug the fluid receiving opening to prevent fluid from flowing from the conduit into the fluid receiving opening when the brush head is in the first position and to permit fluid to flow from the conduit into the fluid receiving opening when the brush head is in the second position.

Abstract: A hygienic toothbrush wherein the brush portion is carried in contact with a sterilizing solution after use. To avoid spillage, the sterilizing solution is contained in a small, replaceable, plastic container which is inserted into the back of the brush and perforated to release a small quantity of solution into a chamber in communication with the brush head during storage and transport thereof. Should damage occur to the brush and its carrier during the storage phase, only minimal spillage of the sterilizing liquid can occur. The toothbrush is made foldable to provide a small size for storage.

Abstract: A foldable toothbrush having a self contained toothpaste applicator. The packet of toothpaste being contained within a cavity formed in a forward member. The cavity is beneath the bristles and a pair of passageways extend from the cavity to the bristles. A pair of fins extend outward from a rear member which is pivotally connected to the forward member. When the toothbrush is in the folded position, the fins extend within the passageways to block the flow of toothpaste from the packet through the passageways. When the toothbrush is unfolded, the blocking fins are removed from the passageways, and the toothpaste packet may then be pressed to force toothpaste from the packet through the passageways into the bristles.

The cavity communicates with the brush portion through holes (16). The rear wall of the cavity is a slide member (22) that can slidably move forward to compress the cavity and force toothpaste through the communication holes. The rear part has a thruster 36 that is connected to a pusher (40) and is slidably confined to a track (28, 30, 44). When the foldable toothbrush is unfolded, the user can engage pusher (40) to move thruster (36) into the front part to engage the slide member (22) to push toothpaste through holes (26). The pusher (40) can then be disengaged from the front part and the toothbrush can be folded.

Abstract: An applicator device for high or low viscosity liquids essentially comprises a container (R) having a plunger (2) which can be operated by turning a rod (3), whereby the liquid in the container is squeezed out into an applicator brush (4). Said rod (3) is hollow and carries the brush (4) at one of its ends (3b) while the other end (3a) is immersed in the container (R). Between these ends, it passes through the plunger (2) and is in engagement therewith via a screw thread (3c). Said rod (3) is rotated by a ratchet wheel (10) controlled by a side push-button (6). The applicator device allows a viscous product such as nail varnish to be delivered, for example to a brush.

Abstract: A device for obturating an applicator apparatus comprising a body (2) fitted with an applicator brush (13) in contact with a product contained in a tank (R) and which is obturatable by a cap (1) which upon the obturation of the body actuates a sleeve (3) movably mounted in the body so as to perform the retraction into this sleeve of the applicator brush (13) accommodated inside of the sleeve (3) and fixedly mounted within the body and upon the opening of the body actuates the sleeve (3) in the reverse direction to disengage the applicator brush (13) from the sleeve (3) and thus allow its use after separation of the cap (1) from the body (2).

Abstract: A dentifrice dispensing toothbrush is described which utilizes a compressible elastic button to pump a controlled quantity of dentifrice material from a replaceable cartridge to the brush head. The toothbrush locks itself to prevent further pumping of dentifrice material when its replaceable cartridge is nearly empty. The self locking mechanism eliminates the formation of voids in the dentifrice material and consequent pump failure when the spent cartridge is replaced. In one embodiment, a cover is provided which protects the brush head, bristles, pumping mechanism and other parts of the toothbrush. The cover also seals the conduit which supplies dentifrice material to the brush head to prevent it from becoming clogged with dried dentifrice material during periods of non use and to prevent accidental compression of the button.

Abstract: A hollow inner cylinder is provided in a lead end portion of a casing, and a pen shaft is inserted into the inner cylinder. The inner cylinder is connected to the casing through a partition wall having communication holes formed herein. In an annular space defined between the inner cylinder and the casing and located below the partition wall is filled an impregnation receptacle holding a dry preventing agent for preventing a nib from getting dried. The liquid applicator thus constructed is capable of effectively suppressing the drying of the nib without affecting the performance of liquid to be applied.
