Abstract: The perfected closure device comprises rings (2) and screws (3) which are formed with a single presswork operation together with the strip (1) to be placed at the disposal of the user. The latter with a simple coin screws screws (3) within suitable orifices formed on strip (1), the latter being fixed to the internal surface of the folder. There is also provided that each ring (2) may be closed simply by causing projections (5) which are formed on the base of each ring to penetrate within shaped grooves (4), the latter being formed at the opposite end of the same ring, an operation which is easy due to the elasticity of the material which constitutes the rings.
Abstract: A ring binder is disclosed as being adapted to be secured to a cover by at least one rivet, the ring binder comprising a substantially rigid curved upper plate supporting a pair of pivotable elongate plates to which a plurality of ring members are mounted, and the rivet is engageable directly with the cover and the curved upper plate, and the rivet includes a cylindrical body with an inwardly bent upper end.

Abstract: The improved loose leaf ring binder assembly includes a binder having a central vertical back portion connected to laterally extending wings or side portions which form the front and back covers of the binder. The assembly also includes a vertically extending spine connected to the front surface of the back portion. The spine is in the form of a hollow tube having closed upper and lower ends and containing a spaced pair of vertical rods. The inner ends of half rings are connected to the rods at spaced intervals along the length thereof. The half rings extend laterally outwardly from the rods through openings on opposite sides of the tube. The free ends of the half rings on one side of the tube are adapted to mate with half rings from the opposite side of the tube to form complete rings to releasably hold loose perforated sheets in place in the binder.
Abstract: The device for retaining sheets, files, or punched cards in binders has a body defining a base portion that can be associated with the cover of a binder. Two arms extend from the base portion and constitute the two arms of an open ring. The two arms can move towards each other at their free ends, which lie opposite to the base portion. The free ends are provided respectively with a tooth and a seat, for mutual engagement. The tooth can be engaged with or released from the seat to close or open the ring.

Abstract: A binder (12) for storing sheets (S) of paper having punched holes (H). First and second end leafs (16, 18) form outer covers of the binder. A center plate (20) is positioned intermediate the end leafs which are flexibly attached (at 16f, 18f) to the center plate to enclose sheets of paper between the end leafs. Binder rings (24, 26, 28) carrier on the center plate hold the sheets and are movable from a closed to an open position. Sheets are inserted into the binder by inserting the holes over an exposed end (24e, 26e, 28e) of the rings when the rings are opened. Locking mechanism (30) locks the rings closed. A mechanism (58) moves the rings from their closed to their open position. One end (24d, 26d, 28d) of the rings attach to a rotatable plate (60). The locking mechanism is located on one side of the center plate adjacent one of the end leafs, and the rotatable plate is located on the opposite side thereof adjacent the other end leaf.
Abstract: A ring metal for a ring binder having a pair longitudinally arranged leaves partially surrounded an clasped by a resilient metallic shield and a plurality of openable rings having base ends connected to the leaves such that relative angular orientation of the leaves corresponds to an open or closed condition of the rings. By shaping and arranging the rings with respect to the leaves such that the closed condition of the rings corresponds to the relative angular orientation of the leaves being 180.degree. or less measured on a side of the leaves opposite the rings, results in the rings always being urged to the open condition whether open or closed. At least one of the rings provides a hook formation to lock rings halves of at least one ring to lock the rings and leaves in the closed orientation.
Abstract: A space-saving ring binder is in a collapsed position when not in use, for example, during packing, shipping, storage, occupying shelf space, and in an upright position when in use retaining paper. The thickness of the ring binder is significantly less when in the collapsed position than when in the upright position. The ring binder includes a cover portion and a binding portion attached to the cover portion. The binding portion has a plurality of rings rotatably attached to a toggling assembly. The rings are pivotal from a collapsed position in which the rings define an acute angle with the toggling assembly to an upright position in which the rings are substantially perpendicular with the toggling assembly. The rings may be permanently locked in the upright position.
Abstract: A locking assembly (10) is for use in a ringbinder (12) used to hold and store sheets (S) of paper or other material in which at least one hole (H) is punched for capturing the sheet of paper and holding it in place. The assembly includes at least one binder ring (14). Each binder ring has first and second mating segments (14a, 14b). These are movable into and out of contact with each other. A sheet of paper is inserted onto one of the ting segments, when the segments are out of contact with each other, by inserting the hole in the sheet of paper over the ting segment. One end of one of the ring segments is attached to a first elongated plate (48), and a corresponding end of the other ring segment is attached to a second elongated plate (50). The plates are positioned side-by-side and extend generally parallel to each other.
Abstract: A reusable/refillable binder for papers and the like having marginal perforations. The binder includes a binding element having opposite coiled ends and a multiplicity of spiral coils disposed therebetween adapted to be received within the perforations in the papers in threaded relations thereof. Each coiled end of the binding element includes an aperture extending therethrough. A removable locking element is coupled to the aperture at each respective coiled end of the binding element and to one of the multiplicity of spiral coils to prevent rotation of the multiplicity of spiral coils and thus unbinding of the papers from the binder.
Abstract: A paper binder for folders, the binder comprising a U shaped loop (2) to be attached to the folder (1) by a clip (6). The loop is in two parts, one part (4) being rotatable in the clip, and the other part (3) non-rotatable in the clip. The two parts are releasably attachable to each other to allow sheets of paper to be placed on the non-rotatable part.
Abstract: A punched sheet ring binder with configured ring halves, an arcuate mechanism cover with spaced apart platform surfaces to support the sheet border edges during operation of the binder.
Abstract: A binder assembly which is openable in the opposite direction, wherein it includes a turnable member having binding rods and a turnable member having binding pipes adapted to receive said binding rods, said turnable members being separately and detachably provided on both sides of a bottom plate fixed to a back cover of a file in such a manner that they are turnable with respect to said bottom plate.
Abstract: A binder of the ring type includes fixed and pivot rods with their free ends being bent in opposite relation. The pivot rods are attached to a pivot plate. The pivot plate is mounted on a bottom plate in such a manner that it is always biased by a spring in its opening direction. A pivot arm is provided, including an upper member and a lower member formed by bending a metal material. The pivot and bottom plate are clamped between the upper and lower members. To prevent excessive pivot movement of the pivotal arm, a stopper means is provided at the extremity of the pivot end of the pivot arm.
Abstract: A coupling device is described and formed of a flexible tubular outer connecting element and a more rigid insert element sized to snugly fit into the bore of the connecting element. The elements are formed of vinyl material of different hardness so that their connection is accompanied with high frictional surface engagement. The resilience of the outer connecting element is selected sufficiently high to contract slightly and more tightly grip the insert in response to a separating force while facilitating connection with a slight expansion in response to a compressional connecting force applied to the elements. In one embodiment a ring fastener is formed for use as a key ring, or loose-leaf paper binder, apparel fastener and the like. Several embodiments are described.
