Plural Pairs Of Opposed Retainers Independently Operable Patents (Class 402/43)
  • Patent number: 10479132
Abstract: A binding tool for paper sheets includes: a base member extending in a longitudinal direction; and a plurality of first binding members and second binding members each having a base end portion formed protruding outward in a width direction from the base member and a tip end portion integral with the base end portion and curved inward in the width direction so as to be movable between a binding position where the tip end portions contact each other and an open position where the tip end portions are separated from each other by a prescribed distance. The base end portions are positionally displaced from each other by at least an amount corresponding to a thickness TH of the base end portion in the longitudinal direction when the tip end portions positioned facing each other in the width direction are in contact with each other in the binding position.

  • Patent number: 8851783
Abstract: A ring mechanism has an elongate body made of a moldable polymeric material and rings for holding loose-leaf pages. Each ring includes a first ring member and a second ring member. The first ring members are movable relative to the housing and the second ring members between a closed position and an open position. At least one ring member for each ring is a separately formed ring member and comprises a ring portion and an anchor connected to the ring portion. The at least one separately formed ring member is formed separately from the body. The anchor of the separately formed ring member is secured to the body for pivoting movement relative to the body. The anchor can be received in a receptacle in the body adapted to receive the anchor.

  • Patent number: 8162556
Abstract: A ring binder mechanism includes an elongate housing and a ring support supported by the housing for movement relative to the housing. The ring support has an upper surface and a lower surface. A plurality of rings is provided for holding loose-leaf pages. Each ring includes a first ring member and a second ring member. The first ring member is mounted on the ring support for movement with the ring support relative to the housing between a closed position and an opened position. An actuator is mounted on the housing for pivotal movement relative to the housing for moving the rings from their closed position to their opened position. The actuator has a snap-lock connection with the housing.

  • Patent number: 6702501
Abstract: A binder for releasably retaining loose-leaves. The binder has a front cover that lies flatly beneath its back cover when the binder is open 360 degrees. The rings of the binder can rotate around an edge of the flatly-folded cover to enable loose-leaves to lie flat above and below the cover. The binder also has a skeleton with a minimal cross-section spine which may be partially or completely embedded in a cover and rotates in relation to parallel front and back covers when the binder is open 360 degrees. The front cover, middle cover and back cover are connected in a way so that they do not interfere with the rotation of the rings. Mechanisms to open and close the rings of the skeleton to allow addition or removal of loose-leafs, and ring shapes to optimize or stabilize the capacity of the binder during operation are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6293722
Abstract: A binder mechanism is disclosed having a first ring assembly and a binding portion. The first ring assembly includes at least one first ring half. At least the first ring assembly or the binding portion are a pivotable half that is pivotable with respect to the other to a locked position about a first longitudinal axis. In the locked position, the first ring half is engaged with the binding portion cooperatively defining a loop that is substantially closed to retain a stack of papers or a workpiece. The first ring assembly and the binding portion are lockable with respect to each other in the locked position to prevent pivoting of the pivotable half from the locked position. At least one of the first ring assembly and the binding portion is movable with respect to the other from the locked position in an unlocking direction oriented at less than 180° from the longitudinal axis to permit the pivotable half to pivot about the longitudinal axis to an open position in which the loop is substantially open.

  • Patent number: 5662555
Abstract: A family, portable power stretching and entire body building gym, and method of using the same, comprising hooks (2) for suspending the device from a rod or beam (4), first elongate flexible members (8) secured at a first end thereof to the hooks (2), stirrups (10) secured at a second end of the first elongate flexible members (8), second elongate flexible members (12) secured at one end to the hooks (2), a plurality of connectors (14) spaced along the second elongate flexible members (12), and hand grips (16) removable attached to the connectors (14). The gym also comprises a chin bar, slant board and knee bar inverted posture devices for being adjustably suspended from the elongate flexible members for working and stretching the entire body in an inverted position, enabling gravity to help relieve spine compression created from being in an upright position.

  • Patent number: 4886390
Abstract: The invention is directed to a loose leaf type ring binder having two long sides and a designated top and bottom for temporarily attaching perforated papers or the like to a file or folder. A pair of rings are loosely attached to the file or folder near the designated top in a manner so that they are free to pivot relative to the sides of the folder through substantially 180 degrees to a position substantially parallel with the surface of the folder or file in either direction of pivot. The opening through the center of the rings being positioned perpendicular to the designated top and bottom. Each of the rings are split and provided with a hinge so that the rings can be opened at the split to receive perforations in the papers to the attached thereto. The rings include a locking device at the ends of the split to prevent unwanted opening of the rings at the split and stops to prevent circumferential rotation of the rings relative to the file or folder.
