Abstract: A clamping assembly for selectively retaining a stack of pages includes a bottom disk that may be positioned proximate the stack of pages. A tube is operationally coupled to the bottom disk. A top disk is operationally coupled to the tube. The top disk selectively compresses the stack of pages between the top and bottom disks. A retainer is operationally coupled to the top disk. The retainer retains the top disk on the stack of pages. A release is operationally coupled to the top disk. The release may selectively release the top disk from the stack of pages.
Abstract: A lever-arch type file mechanism (100, 200) is disclosed as including a base (102, 202), two rings extending upwardly from the base (102, 202), each ring a post (106, 206) fixed to the base (102, 202) and an arch (124, 207) movable relative to the base (102, 202) and the post (106, 206), a lever assembly (108, 208) movable relative to the base (102, 202) between two stable configurations to pivot the arches (124, 207) relative to the posts (106, 206) to selectively move the rings between a ring-closed configuration and a ring-open configuration, and the lever assembly (108, 208) includes at least a first link (136, 216) and a second link (132, 212) connected with each other, and the first link (136, 216) is pivotable relative to the base (102, 202) about a first axis (P-P, W-W) fixed relative to the base (102, 202) and that the second link (132, 212) is pivotable relative to the base (102, 202) about a second axis (S-S, T-T) fixed relative to the base (102, 202), and during movement of the lever assembly (108
Abstract: This invention concerns a file mechanism for punched documents, comprising a base plate, two mutually spaced filing pins which stand up substantially vertically from the base plate, and a two-limbed transfer arch which is spaced from the filing pins and which is mounted limitedly pivotable between an open and a closed position about a horizontal axis approximately parallel to the base plate and comprises transfer limbs which with their free ends in the closed position contact in pairs the free ends of the filing pins, wherein the transfer limbs are actuable by way of an operating lever which is pivotably mounted to a mounting element projecting from the base plate, characterized in that there is provided at least one reinforcing element which connects the mounting element to the base plate.

Abstract: A binder for releasably retaining loose-leaves. The binder has a front cover that lies flatly beneath its back cover when the binder is open 360 degrees. The rings of the binder can rotate around an edge of the flatly-folded cover to enable loose-leaves to lie flat above and below the cover. The binder also has a skeleton with a minimal cross-section spine which may be partially or completely embedded in a cover and rotates in relation to parallel front and back covers when the binder is open 360 degrees. The front cover, middle cover and back cover are connected in a way so that they do not interfere with the rotation of the rings. Mechanisms to open and close the rings of the skeleton to allow addition or removal of loose-leafs, and ring shapes to optimize or stabilize the capacity of the binder during operation are also disclosed.
Abstract: A pre-assembled post lock assembly for loose leaf binders having separable covers which greatly simplifies mounting of the lock to the binder. A plastic sleeve press-fitted within the barrel assembly of the lock holds a spring biased ball carrier member in alignment with the barrel housing such that the locking balls are disposed for coaction with the cam surface of the barrel whether or not the lock assembly is mounted on the binder.
