  • Patent number: 10675567
Abstract: A filter element assembly comprises a filtration media and an end fitting through which a sealing connection is made between the assembly and a housing so that the end fitting defines a flow path between the housing and the filtration media. The end fitting has first and second parts which can be separated axially, and the filter media extends axially away from the second part in a direction away from the first part. Each of the parts has an outer wall with an external threaded cylindrical surface, and each of the first and second parts has an axially facing edge surface which faces the other of the first and second parts, the facing edge surfaces shaped to define a pre-determined relative rotational alignment of the first and second parts, where the parts fit together so that the threads on the external surfaces of the parts form a continuous thread.

  • Patent number: 8939051
Abstract: An extension tool is disclosed comprising a first pole and a second pole. The second pole is partially disposed in the first pole for defining a variable overall tool length. A slide controller includes a lower clamp and an upper clamp. The first pole is disposed in the lower clamp. A first clamp compressor applies a compressive force to the lower clamp for defining a lower clamp lock and coupes the slide controller with the first pole. A second clamp compressor applies a compressive force to the upper clamp for defining an upper clamp lock and prevents slidable displacement of the second pole relative to the first pole. The second clamp compressor applies a non-compressive force to the upper clamp for defining an upper slide guide. The upper slide guide facilitates the slidable displacement of the second pole relative to the first pole.

  • Patent number: 8851305
Abstract: A tension rod mechanism for a tension rod having a first outer shaft with a second inner shaft slideable therein has a unidirectional slip-lock configured to be received in the first outer shaft for rotational movement therewith and unidirectional slidable axial movement relative thereto. A threaded shaft is fixedly connected to the unidirectional slip-lock. A collar is threadingly engaged with the threaded shaft and configured to be fixedly received in the second inner shaft for movement therewith. When the unidirectional slip-lock is in the first outer shaft and the collar is fixedly received in the second inner shaft, slidable axial movement of the unidirectional slip-lock relative to the first outer shaft may occur only in an expansion direction A rotation of the first outer shaft relative to the second inner shaft increases the axial distance between the unidirectional slip-lock and the collar.

  • Patent number: 8696229
Abstract: A hood prop is adjustable by rotation and without tools. A base rod 33 fits into a hollow friction rod 34 and may be twisted in a first direction to lock in place and in a second opposite direction to loosen for adjustment. A base screw 32 secures a free floating friction piece 31 and a threaded base piece 30 to a threaded base rod 33. The treaded base rod 33 may be inserted into the hollow friction rod 34 and then twisted. The rotation causes the free floating friction piece to press upon the inside wall of the hollow friction rod. The slant surfaces of the free floating friction piece and threaded base piece help move an extended section 40 of the friction piece into the inner wall of the hollow friction rod. The use of two slant surfaces 61 on the threaded base piece 30 facilitates quick response to rotation in either direction.
