  • Patent number: 9151074
Abstract: Shown is a fence post system and a coupling used in such a system for coupling the fence rails and fence posts of metal tubular fences such as those used in horse and cattle ranching operations. A clamp ring is secured about the vertical tubular metal fence post. A pair of clamping body components fit about the horizontal fence rail and are secured by top and bottom tightening bosses and tightening elements. When tightened, the assembly nearly completely circumscribes the exterior surface of the fence rail, providing near 360 degree circumferential contact. The coupling can be articulated in various ways. It can be rotated about the fence post before tightening. It can also be pivoted in a vertical plane to adjust for changes in the elevation of the fence line.

  • Patent number: 8845438
Abstract: A yoke is provided in which damage such as bending of a bolt for joining and fastening the base section of the yoke to the end section of a rotating shaft does not easily occur even when that bolt is excessively tightened. In the present invention, a force is applied to both a first flange section and a second flange section in a direction toward each other, and with the inner diameter of the base section elastically reduced, a through hole, screw hole and seating surface section are formed. After that, the force is released and the inner diameter of the base section expands by its own elastic force. Alternatively, with the inner diameter of the base section reduced, the through hole, screw hole and seating surface section are formed, after which the first flange section and second flange section are plastically deformed in the direction away from each other to expand the inner diameter of the base section.

  • Patent number: 8800412
Abstract: A handle for controlling a power tool by configuring the handle in either a straight or T-shaped position. In the straight position, the handle design serves as a rotational safety control that allows a user to control the rotational reaction of the tool by placing the user's hand in a position that is perpendicular to the main body of the tool. In the T-shaped configuration, the user can apply rotational force and longitudinal force more easily because the hand position is tangent to the tool base. A fastener couples a base of the handle to a band that grips the power tool and facilitates the user control.

  • Patent number: 7666101
Abstract: A yoke for universal joint includes a base portion and a pair of opposed side walls and is connected to one end of a rotating shaft having two planes parallel to each other. One end of the rotating shaft is inserted between the opposed side walls such that both planes oppose the respective opposed side walls and the lower surface is abutted on the base portion. Then, a fastening portion of the opposed side walls in the upper portions thereof is fastened by a bolt such that the rotating shaft is interposed and fixed. On the inner surfaces of the opposed side walls, the concave portion is formed under the fastening portion. The concave portion is pushed against the outer peripheral square portion of the rotating shaft in both sides of the fastening portion in the axial direction of the rotating shaft.

  • Patent number: 7481013
Abstract: A billboard sign includes abutting rectangular tubular sections forming a frame using a rectangular tube extending across abutting ends within the tubular sections. The rectangular tube is biased against adjacent inside wall surfaces of the tubular sections for securing and aligning the tubular sections to each other. Risers extend between opposing horizontal frame sections and define a flat riser plane. Stringers are attached to support posts and define a vertically oriented plane. With risers defining the flat riser plane, the stringers horizontally attached to support posts and aligned for defining a vertically oriented plane, the flat riser plane can be aligned with the vertically oriented plane for securing the frame to the support posts in a flat plane of the frame vertically oriented as desired, regardless of the orientation of the support posts. A flexible substrate may be extended across a periphery of the frame with a message carrying surface.

  • Patent number: 7461996
Abstract: An erroneous assembling preventing tool for a universal joint prevents a shaft from being fixed to a cylindrical section of a yoke main body of the universal joint by fastening a bolt in a state where the shaft is not inserted into a normal position of an axial direction of the cylindrical section. The erroneous assembling preventing tool comprises a fixing section fixed to the yoke main body, a prevention section arranged between first and second tabs of the yoke main body, and a driving section for driving a prevention section. The prevention section is displaceable to a prevention position at which an end of the bolt can be prevented from being inserted through a screw hole of the second tab of the yoke and a prevention release position. The driving section displaces the prevention section to the prevention release position when it is pressed by an end of the shaft inserted into the normal position of the axial direction of the cylindrical section.

  • Patent number: 6276865
Abstract: A clamp for securing a torque transmitting coupling between an intermediate shaft and a drive tube in a vehicle steering column consists of a strap wrapped upon itself in a substantially circular form with its ends overlapping, the strap having a radial hole formed through the overlapping ends, and a bolt inserted through the radial hole and threadably engageable with a threaded nut within the circular form of the strap. The bolt preferably has a flared tip for trapping the bolt within the nut and for extending into and through a hole in a wall of the drive tube to engage a recess in the intermediate shaft. It also has an undercut portion above the flared tip for disengaging from threads of the nut when the flared tip is retracted into the wall of the drive tube. Until the shaft is properly positioned in the tube, the threads of the bolt and nut are prevented from engaging to tighten the clamp. The flared tip may have threads to permit easy assembly with the nut and the strap.
